hell, you can not fall asleep in my band class lol, 45 minutes of straight playing, we skip lunch to practice!!!! we are not your typical corp style marhcing band. we are a show band. we bring energy everywhere we go while showing musicianship. we are known as The Royal "Marching Sound Machine" Band from Falcon Land!!!!!! hell yeah!!!! but real talk, its hard to stay asleep in my class, trumpets going 3rd octaves and D-line playing cadences throughout the period and practice!! 4-5 hour practices during football season, summer camp 6 hours long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta pop them 90s on the field n still play full value in your horn, tough bizz lol
PS. if you fall asleep in my band class, you run!!!!!!!

ok well we were playing a song called Contra Que Rose and it is so SLOW!!! Seriously EIGHTH NOTE=60 OMG!!! Well I play the trumpet part and even though I am second trumpet my BD made me play the second trumpet part... WELL... It is only a half page song yet it went for eight minutes and I only played for one of them... I slept the rest of the time... But then we played Battle of Shiloh!!! I LOVE THAT MARCH (FOR TRUMPETS!!!)

Well, I didn't do this, but some senior friends of mine who just graduated did.
They had a sub, so they crawled into the prescussion storage cabnet and fell asleep till the end of class. There's pics of it on myspace.

Hmmm. well, i never slept during class ;D
my band teacher is helluh strict. TToTT she would yell at anyone!
But i was a bit drowsy one time. I was holding my keyboard on my lapXP
pretty heavy thoXD i almost fell asleep and then i dropped it :O
LOL. it didnt reaaally had that much damage to it ><
but i still asked my dad to repair it. it sounded quite ok after that incident.

I dozed off and fell to the side the trumbone in my hand was the only thing keeping me still but i ended up falling right before the bell rang, at my zhs band
but when i moved i slept most of the time since 1. no instrument in hand and 2. treated at mega noob

Yeahhh... I haven't actually fallen asleep...
but there were those days where my ENTIRE SECTION was leaning their head on their trombones xD
we had sooo many rests xDDDDD
But we do take naps at band camp..
during sectionals, trombones usually just pass out for half an hour biggrin
then get back to music so we don't get yelled at

Yea right! The band is so noisy and the seats we have to sit in are UNCOMFORTABLE!!

We had a sub and he kept working with the percussions. He didn't even notice I was asleep until I the bell rang.

There are plenty of times where we've had a slow band class and I've fallen into a light doze against my tuba. SOmetimes, I don't even noticed that we've started playing again.
One time, though, there was a day where we weren't playing, so I crawled into my tuba locker and fell asleep. Its rather comfortable in between the sousaphones. xd

i had but it was not my fault my friend didnt let me go to sleep then i had to go to practice at 5 am in the morning i just got there and fell asleep

Well, I'm a percussionist and I didn't have a part for this one song during second semester, so whenever I was tired and we were playing that song, I went to the drumline closet and slept on the bass drum cases.

When I was in 7th grade I did. Our band director notice that i was so she had my hole band get has closes has they could and play the highest note they could and the worst they could it was bad. Oh, I wake up 2 and i think I hurt about half the band with my binder cuz i throw it at them.
Another time in the 7th grade our bd throw her baton at me and i was in the back in the trumpet section. I wake up screaming cuz it hurt so bad.
I'll tell you this i don't think i have ever fall asleep in band again.

NO. MY BAND DIRECTOR WOULD KILL/MAKE FUN OF ME FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
No joke. Plus he keeps running through pieces like there's no tomorrow.

i wish i could fall asleep no one in my class really likes me so sometimes i'll just be drifting off and the guy next to me will flick me in the head or yell in my ear or something *ugh* i really dont like him
