"You might be making it up." Galleai agreed. "Or you might be remembering something. Or someone might be trying to tell you something. There are all sorts of reasons we dream what we dream." She tilted her head to one side, listening. "D'you wanna follow them? Maybe you'll find something out." The footsteps were fading, if they wanted to catch whoever it was, they'd need to hurry.

"Uh, sure," said Fish, with very little deliberation involved in the decision. The footsteps were fading fast, and he took off at a run to follow the direction they had gone. The streets were laid out quite orderly and it was easy to figure out the logic of them.
He rounded a corner and saw two figures at the end of the block. They hadn't seen him. He ducked back around the corner and crouched out of sight. He looked around for the catfish.
"There are other people here!" he whispered, quite out of breath and breathing hard through his gills.
The other people were talking. Fish pressed closer to see if he could hear or see better.
There were two of them. Teenagers of regal bearing, dressed in clothes similar to the ones Fish had found himself in. He could not make out their exact features, but both had lightly tanned skin and fair hair. Perhaps they were brothers. One was taller and generally larger than the other, and he seemed to be the leader.
"So these are the realms?" the taller one asked, inspecting a column.
"I can't think of what else they might be," replied the shorter one.
"And why haven't we been here before?" asked the taller one. The shorter one shrugged. Fish did not hear his reply. He tried to move closer.
"Did you hear something?" asked the shorter one.
"No," said the taller one.
"I did," said the shorter one. Fish froze and looked to the catfish for guidance.

"Hmm..." Galleai narrowed her eyes in concentration. This, she didn't think, was quite normal. The two figures certainly weren't dreamwalkers, and they certainly weren't part of Fish's dream either. Which left only one conclusion and also left Gal wondering how she'd stumbled into an actual world as opposed to just images in someone's head. She glanced at Fish with a little frown. "I don't think we're supposed to be here." She decided, "I think you ought to wake up now." She added. It didn't sound like a request, it sounded like a very polite command.

Fish nodded. This seemed like a sound idea, although how did he go about doing that? He wasn't entirely sure he'd ever managed anything like that before--
Except her words seemed to be having an effect on him, a reversal of getting sleepy. The world blurred out of focus.
Fish awoke in his own bed, utterly befuddled.
