Kouyo knits his fingers together around his teacup, blushing faintly. Well, he is very shy by nature, so it has been a little difficult for him to get out and meet people, but he has found a few friends here. And Renka has always been helpful. He does not let it slip that he misses his few friends back in Gaia, as well.
And Miss Meirou need not worry about getting a job just yet, really, especially if she is also worried about her Naming Ceremony and her studies. The High Priest gently suggests that perhaps she could relax a little.
But he thanks her sincerely for her offer of help.
Has Miss Meirou found many friend here?

Ah, that is good. It's always wonderful to have friends everywhere you go. Meirou is unsure what she would do without some.
Meirou is worried about the Ceremony and her learning, but relaxing does sound quite nice. Except perhaps only for a little while.
She has found a few friends, though not many. The few she does have are close friends, which is nice. But...Perhaps she needs to look and be nice to everyone?

That is what Kouyo has done so far, and it has worked well enough for making friends, he supposes.
He pours himself more water for tea, and swirls the leaves around in the cup a little as he warms the water to steaming again using his magic. Then he rests his fingertips lightly on the envelopes Meirou brought with her, and slides them closer to her again with a small smile. She will be keeping those, yes? Her very first Red Day letters? And perhaps she can try to get to know some of the boys at least a bit better.
She would not have such an opportunity at her age at nearly any other school.

It does work rather well, Meirou agrees as she sips at the last of the tea in her cup. After setting it down, she gently pushes it a little closer to Kouyo. May she have some more as well? sweatdrop
Ah, yes. Meirou takes the letters, setting them down in her lap. She will keep them, and though they are unsigned, perhaps she will have a few conversations with the boys she suspects. sweatdrop Though she's really not sure what to talk about with them....
"I'm rather thankful for the school and the situation." She smiles, glancing down again. "Renka and his fellow scholars are rather brave to do so."

Oh, of course. Kouyo places his palm to the side of the kettle and heats up the rest of the water, and then pours tea for Meirou.
He keeps his exact thoughts on the arrangement of the school hidden, but acknowledges that Renka and the other teachers there do seem quite skilled. And if Miss Meirou feels she is learning well, then that also confirms that the scholars are good at what they do.
Quietly, Kouyo adds that watching Renka, hearing him talk about his work and how much he enjoys it... the High Priest might like to become a teacher himself someday. A faint smile appears on his lips and he sighs contentedly.

Meirou smiles, taking the cup back when he finishes pouring.
She is learning very well. It's a challenge, and for once she's not really bored enough to read other things in class. Though sometimes the boys talk a little too loudly about girls, and, well... sweatdrop It's a little distracting.
Really? What would Kouyo teach? Literature, Poetry, Math, or something completely different? 3nodding

Kouyo blushes a little, admitting that he is not really sure what, exactly, he would teach. Poetry, perhaps. Setsushi suggested training young priests in Gaia, as well, but the High Priest dearly hopes they will not be away from home long enough to require a setting up a priesthood.
When they return to the Golden World, though, perhaps he could try living with the other priests again, and aiding in the training of young ones there.
Does Meirou know yet what she might like to become?

Meirou smiles, nodding as he speaks. Poetry would be nice to teach, wouldn't it? And tutoring or training sounds nice as well....
Does Kouyo think they'll be able to return home...? Meirou frowns, thinking about how many times she's thought about it. She hopes there is indeed a way home, but...
What to be..? Well, she has a general idea.. Something to do with the Scholarly Arts, and within those, Math and Science.
