Didn't you used to like Buffy?

How far are you into the series? Have you finished it yet?

"I got better." Yeah, I was for a bit I fell out of it after a while, and out of sync with most supernatural series until recently. Pushing Daisies and Moonlight were my last flings, look what happened to them. sad

I finished Supernatural's existing seasons in one week and six hours, as of Tuesday. I had Renegade by Styx stuck in my head for that much longer, and then it went to Hell's Bells, and now it's back to whatever it seemed to flock to.

I'm trying very hard not to rabid fangirl myself. It's a true fight against the giggly reactions I'm so used to seeing because, well, it's just that good. Well-written, some actual accuracy on some parts--I *squee* every time they use excess salt on the show--and the characters are so in-tune with each other and the actors know the limits but still push them.

It's just been a while since I found a show so cool.

It helps that Jensens Ackles and Jared Paledecki are best friends in real life. Both good ol' Texas boys.

Those two have a seriously awesome chemistry. I'm just happy I got most of the episodes done--some of the episodes got switched around in the watching so I'm going back and catching up. I missed Bad Day at Black Rock, which is friggin' hilarious.

The first disc of season 1 finally came in today. I'm gonna try and watch the whole thing in one day so I can send it back and get the next one soon.

You'll have to tell us if you like it. I'm curious.

Well, I watched the first two episodes and they mostly kept my attention, but halfway through the third I was ready for something else and annoyed by the sun making it hard to see anything. I'm now watching the rest of the disc with my brother. I think the first episode was amazing but the second one was kinda boring and so far the third is iffy.

Trust me, it really picks up. The first season is just a taste of what's to come. More comedy and dramatic crazy s**t will be following.

The rest of the third was good and I liked the fourth. There's only four episodes per disc! I was surprised, usually with a series they put 6 eps per disc. I like how all the episodes could be stand alone so far. Am I right in assuming that will change as the seasons move on?

It'll draw you in and suck you dry with all the plot that's going to get woven into your brain. And you'll smile and cry for more. ^_^.

The research on some of the topics they used--how they don't sugar coat things like Buffy--vampire go poof, so does your proof--and they explain things--why ghosts are able to be recorded. . . and they use massive amounts of salt! Yay salt!

Hmm. So far in the real world the only thing that seems to be banished by salt are snails and slugs.

I'm not one for big plots and such with these dramas. My favorite part of a series is always the beginning and the stand alone phase.

I've always been annoyed by series that have the whole thing as one big plot also. That's why I never got into Buffy, Charmed, Angel, and others similar to that. Supernatural starts to form a plot later on in the series, but they still throw in stand alone episodes during those seasons, too. Actually, they throw in a lot of them. But the plot itself, in my opinion, when it finally starts to develop is just.......awesome. Of course it deals with something I'm somewhat fascinated by. I won't tell because it will ruin the first episode of season four if you manage to get that far. Some of the episodes, I will admit, are somewhat boring, but then some are just fantastic.

Okay. Well, I'll stick to my guns and watch the entire first season before I decide whether I'm going to give up or not. Can't judge a series by only 4 episodes.

True that, Vanilla [why do I want to call you vanilla bean? :3 ]. Try on the first season to see if there's something to see, good idea.

It actually takes several directions in the first season, sort of like a test drive almost. They start working through crap and it's really cool. I'm not sure I'm a fan of any specific season, though. confused

The stand-alones and the funny episodes are so worth it all.

I enjoyed the series, although the fourth season got a little aggravating in my opinion.
I still love "A very Supernatural Christmas".
The second season is the best in my opinion.

Second season is probably the best, I agree. The leading up to the season finale and everything. God I love this show.
