"I insinuate nothing!" He called back in a mildly sing-song sort of voice, eyes practically glowing with good humored mirth. "But it'll be dark in certain places anyway and electric lighting is such a fickle thing..." He trailed off with a wave of his hand at Alex and her charge, teasing obviously but careful not to take it too far lest she start whipping things at his and Brad's direction. His attention diverted back to the older man, chuckling once again at his words.

"I know. I've seen quite a few of your spats in action when I've visited." He patted the older man's arm, recalling quite a few of those sibling fights in his presence. Lots of Italian cursing and rolling around on the floor, it was a miracle nothing fragile broke each time! Each sibling could take a pummeling and still bounce back for more, it was rather insane...God he loved this family. He broke free of his boyfriend's hold to stretch once more, Alex's voice still carrying over and making him realize - to his dismay - that he and Brad had dragged her here to help in her search and that their standing here being oogled by ladies caked in powder and rouge wasn't doing what they had intended. He tilted his head as he looked at his boyfriend, smile a touch reluctant to even speak the words he was about to say.

"I guess we should get back to work then eh? We did drag her here to be of use after all and I figure the faster we get her set up and out of here, the faster I can kidnap you for my own nefarious deeds." He gave the Italian man a peck on the cheek and a wink before making his way through man-made maze of clothing and metal racks towards Alex and Zul, hugging his 'sister' around the back when he arrived. "So...We're looking for a little black dress now? Long cut, but not funeral-y. I'll see what I can dredge up!"

And with that he was off through the racks again, ruffling the Frei's two-toned hair with a cheeky grin as he went. Something black but not funeral wear...That should be easy enough to find. The veterinarian stopped three racks away and started digging. Most of the numbers here seemed to have either a halter-top slash straps that tie around the neck look or no straps at all. Best to ask before he was returning to her side with something that she'd just say 'no' to because of the style. One dress was pinched between his hands as he turned his head and called, gently tugging the number out to accent his point.

"Hey sis, anything against halters, tie-ups or no straps at all?"

The older man gave small whuffle of amusement. "I agreed to take her out, I didn't agree to help." Brad was teasing, following his boyfriend as the younger man began to make his way through the waves of garments. "But when you put it like that..." he chuckled low and soft to himself. If that wasn't incentive to get on and get out, he didn't know what would be. He set himself a short ways from the three, looking through some dark blue and green numbers, humming to himself.

Alex glanced over at Zeke's question, considering. "I prefer something with straps, I'm not a small lady," the woman joked, turning to better look at what the man was indicating. Her dark brows lifted, feeling a jolt of excitement as her eyes took in the fabric, rounding the rack she was at to better look at it. Fingers extended to draw over the slightly sparkling fabric, the agreeable cut... "I'll be damned," she grinned, the enthusiasm stealing over her features, "I think you found one!"

Despite her thrill at having found something, the woman was not one to linger. "Thanks, little brother!" she giggled, leaning in to kiss his cheek as she removed the dress from his hands. With a kick in her step, she bounded through the aisles and towards the dressing area, preparing to check herself in. If it fit - if it looked good! - she wanted out! She'd endured enough humiliation for the rest of the year! Alex looked down to the garment in her grip as she was alloted a room, repressing a smile. She wouldn't admit it, but somewhere in the deep, dark recess of her feminine mind, she was eager to try it on.

The demon watched his woman bounce off like some insane rabbit, chuckling to himself and putting away an earthy number he'd had in his hands. "That was fast," he remarked airily to Alex's hasty retreat to the dressing room, crossing his arms over his chest and slowly making his own way after her. Someone had to look and make sure, after all, and since he'd already seen her in a dress that year, he felt quite qualified to handle the duty.

"Straps it is, though you could always do what the stars do and hot glue gun or double sided tape it!" He teased right back, knowing the Italian woman wouldn't do something so drastic or potentially damaging. Before he could continue, Alex had bounded over and snatched the black fabric with the shiny bits on it from his hands. The way her expression lit up as she fingered the material was greatly amusing and Zeke could only laugh as she kissed him before taking off towards the changing rooms.

"You're welcome!" He called after a minute, waving to her retreating back and looking pridefully puffed up at being the first out of the four to find something Alex liked. He preened a little on the spot, once more drawing the eyes of some women - though these ones were younger and worked at the boutique - and once again not caring in the slightest. Zeke lingered by the rack, debating if he should find one or two more similar gowns or follow Alex in case she needed a second opinion. His attention turned to Zul and the Frei's comment, chuckling as the Raevan seemed to do what he just thought. "Maybe. It might not be "the one" Zul, so we all might still have to look some more."

Since Zul seemed to be the one going to give any constructive criticism, Zeke remained at the circular rack, drawing his hands through the garments. Never hurts to have a spare, and there was plenty here that was similar to the one carried away, but each had their own unique flair. Soon enough he had three dresses in his arms; all black, but one accented with red (to make the green of her eyes pop more, he figured), one inlaid with some gold thread, and then a final one with emerald colored beady bits all over it. He rather liked that one the best, if only for the beads and the patterns they made on the soft fabric. Zeke followed the path the Frei had floated on until he was in that area, head turning this way and that until his eyes came to rest on that exposed partial-spine.

"So how's that one look sis?"

"Um, no," came the slightly shrill response from behind the dressing door.

The demon couldn't help but grin toothily at the closed door, sky-swathed eyes turning towards the younger man as the question was posed. "She said she can't breathe, her boobs are so tight against her chest--"

"MALEDIZIONE, ZUL!"

"--so she'll need a new one. She wont come out." Zul outright laughed as the fabric of the dress was suddenly launched over the top of the door, narrowly catching it from landing on his face and shaking it out without concern. He carefully folded it in half, smoothing it over his forearm and peering up at the top of the door as if he expected the woman to follow suit. "Need another? Zeke has one." Again, the Frei turned his attention to the man with colorful hair, quirking a smile. "Is it short and frilly?" he asked, though his tone was teasing and his voice just loud enough for the woman behind the doors to hear.

The string of curse words that followed indicated that yes, Alex heard just fine. "Do not make me come out there in my jeans and beat the snot out of both of you," she growled against the door.

Deep laughter followed the words as Brad joined the other two, resting one hand on Zeke's back and the other on Zul's shoulder. "You are at our mercy now, sorella, best to trust us for fear of being buried in whatever atrocity we might bring upon you." The older Italian smiled at his boyfriend, giving him an encouraging nod. "Shall we hand it to you, rather than making you chase us in your jeans?" Not that the Italian man would actually condone such a thing, but he was also not one to pass up a good ribbing of his younger sibling. She really had brought it upon herself, bringing three males into a dress shop!

There was a silent moment in passing before a begrudging, "Yeah," answered the teasing question. "If there's a spot of frill or lace, neither of you are leaving here alive."

Zeke's face broke into a wide grin as Zul explained the situation Alex was facing; able to fight off a laugh this time though he just couldn't resist what fell from his lips as he rapped lightly on the locked door. He didn't flinch at what was likely an Italian curse either, too amused at this situation for it to cause him to react past that boyish humor.

"Lift and separate sis, it's not that hard." A snicker passed over the younger man's lips after he finished, ducking to the side as the dress came over the top of the door and was then caught by Zul. When the demonic male at his side made mention that he had a dress, Zeke had to turn and make it known that he, in fact, had three in his arms before casting his eyes once more to the door as the Raevan asked if they were short and frilly. Oh god, this was glorious.

"Oh yeah, real frilly. This one here," he shook the one with the emerald beads on it, making said beads rattle just enough that the sound could be heard over or through the door. He winked at the Frei, unable and unwilling to hide his mirth. "Is so short, Alex's hands will be at her sides all night long so it won't ride up and expose her panties. Which would be good, because hands should be kept to themselves on the first date." Not that he believed what he said nor lived by it - he wasn't anyone to talk; he and Brad had fallen asleep on the couch during their first date and both had woken up the next day to find Zeke in the older Italian's arms. Zeke lifted one leg and pressed it against the door, using that as a means to stop Alex from bursting out and castrating him first, especially when Brad appeared behind both himself and Zul. His arrival would only add to their amusement on this side, and Alex's rage on the other.

"She did ask for help with this." Zeke's bi-colored ponytail bobbed as he nodded with his boyfriend's words. He was chuckling again as Brad continued and all during that pause, finally letting his foot down off of the changing room door. "That's a good girl," he said with a tittering approval, shifting through the three dresses in his arms before selecting the red-accented one to hand over first. The door was likely locked from Alex's side, but even if it wasn't he was sure she wouldn't take kindly to having it opened wide on her before being tossed a dress. Luckily for her - and amusingly for Zeke - there was one of those long metal rods with a hook on the end used for getting garments off of high places leaning against the wall. He moved from Brad's touch and nabbed it, stringing the dress' hanger over the hook before lifting the black and red material up and over the door.

"First of three," he announced to his sister then looked to Brad and Zul with mirth making his eyes glow an almost-orange color, "kinda like feeding a shark, huh?"

"Don't make me turn that 'lift and separate' against you, Zeke!" came the thinly repressed growl from behind the door. There was a deathly silence at the next words that followed, and it was probably a good thing the younger man put his foot on the door, for surely, it rattled threateningly for a split second. It was probably lucky for all of them that Alex had a small amount of modesty, enough that she wasn't going to rush out there in her undergarments and jump her almost-brother to force him into said barely-there dress.

The dress handed over the door was yanked off the hook, and inwardly, she was hoping the bar gave Zeke a good start! "Except this shark has legs and knows where you live," came the growl as the fabric was aired out, green eyes critical before she began to go through the motions of trying it on.

Brad made a soft tsking sound, arching a dark brow at his boyfriend. "It may be safer if you stay with me for a while," he said with a playful sense of solemn gravity, one indigo eye dipping in a wink. "At least that way, the kids have a chance of distracting her. Dusty for certain..." The older Italian couldn't help but grin at the grumbling he could hear behind the door, the bits and pieces that were audible an odd mishmash of English and their mother-tongue.

The demon, for his part, remained silent as he observed with a crude grin on his face. He was learning quite a bit in these playful moments, though he truly lamented a lack of legs in this case; Zeke was displaying such fun uses for them other than walking, what with fleeing and acting as a barricade. The young man never ceased to amaze him. Zul looked around the store for a moment as the two older males chatted, distantly aware of the odd glances they were receiving and the quiet music that was easy to miss if one was thinking too much. Humans had such odd places for the most mundane of things! It was no wonder to him that his woman wanted to avoid the spectacle for a single garment.

Turning his blue eyes back to the shut door, he lightly ticked his fingertips over the handle, receiving a pleasant tinkling sound with the slightly loose metal. "Did it eat you?" he questioned, curious to see the dress and her venom against them. She looked good in the black one they'd bought for her a few months ago, so why the shyness now?

"Yes," came the snapped response, though there was less ire in it and more embarrassment.

"Let us see!" He floated back a ways, just in case the door decided to fly open and knock all three of them backwards, something he wouldn't put passed the irate woman.

Silence followed again, and at length, there was a metallic *tink!* as the lock was undone, the door slowly opened. Alex was trying not to be all defensive bristling, but it was hard when she'd chosen men to help her. The Italian slinked out in the garment, a death grip on the fabric by her hidden left leg, her expression somewhere between a scowl and soft uncertainty. She'd fashioned her hair up in a messy bun just to get the full effect of the dress, and while the cut clung in all the right places, she didn't look happy.

Lifting a hand, she showed off her French-manicured nails tipped in dark green rather than white. "Not sure red is the way to go," she murmured, quietly abashed.

A shock Alex had hoped for and a shock Zeke had once the dress was yanked off the hook. With a hand-over-hand motion Zeke brought the long hook back over onto his, Brad's, and Zul's side of the door, letting the cool metal slid down in his palm until it made a metallic 'tang' against the floor. At the threat Zeke turned to his companions and made a 'whatever shall I do?' face of fear, though the smile he tried to hide during that show wouldn't stay down for long. His boyfriend's words and the wink made him laugh lightly, shifting the remaining two dresses over so he could loop an arm around the older man's waist and give him a squeeze.

"I think so," he said with a cheery air, "and I think I'll take you up on that offer. I'd rather not die in the night and have you find me dressed in one of the rejects. Zeke made a soft snort at the grumbling though he wouldn't put it past Alex to do just that to him - minus the killing part of course. He had given her a spare key to his apartment in case he somehow misplaced his own or she wanted to drop off something, so in essence he had occasionally damned himself. The younger man leaned against his loved one while he spun the crook in his right hand, eyes flicking between the door and Brad's face. He didn't catch Zul's glances around this part of the store, but the clinking of the Frei's jewelry wasn't lost on him. To Zeke, the Raevan must be getting bored of just floating there with quips going back and forth between the humans, though then again he was probably just curious of such a ritzy place. Zeke rather was, especially when he had eyeballed some of the price tags. Yeesh!

"Yeah let us see!" He agreed with a few bangs of the metal hook against the tile, almost like he was giving a declaration instead of a plea. Hopefully Alex wouldn't pick up on that; then he really would be waking up at some point strapped into a "sexy little number" and with his dead-to-the-world sleeping habits she'd likely be able to get away with a few flash photos too! Hmm...Maybe he should plot for the inevitable...But not now...Yet. The click of the latch made him stand a little straighter, being a good boy and forcing the smirk off his face.

Though, even if it had remained it would've been smacked off his mug the moment Alex had come out.

Death grip or not, scowl mixed with something else, hair sticking out at odd angles...She looked really pretty. Zeke started to say that it looked perfect on her, but the showing of her nails made him stop before he got a syllable out. He wasn't the type who didn't mind mixing and clashing of his garments most times, but for a lady that was usually a golden rule of 'do not do'. He peeled himself away from his beloved's side and leaned the crook against the counter that separated the changing area from the rest of the store. The gold inlaid dress was covering the green, but Zeke pulled that away and held it in his left hand by the hook while his right held out the black with the green beads.

"Green to match?" He said lightly, shaking the dress enough that the stitched in decor softly rattled again. He looked between it and his sibling, deciding this would be the best bet available at the moment, though once more he couldn't resist. He gave the older woman and wink and a playful quirk of his pierced lips, pressing it over into her hands without her able to say otherwise, his shoulders rolling forward into a shrug once Alex had it in her hands. "Hey...If my hips didn't lie, I'd wear it."

He'd definitely wake up in something black and slinky tomorrow.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 20, 2010 5:13 pm

The look she gave Zeke spoke loudly of being defensive and ready to take whatever teasing was slung her way, but she found herself surprised when no one breathed a word. Alex had no idea if that was good or not, but she'd take what she could get; blood under the nails would ruin the necessity for something green, anyway. "Yeah," she confirmed, eyeing Zeke cautiously as he pressed the dress into her hands, forcing her to release the dress where she held it by her leg. The beads were smooth and comforting against her scarred hands, but as agreeable as the fabric was, it wasn't enough to spare her honorary-brother a radioactive glance as she disappeared back into the dressing room. "I'll be happy to help you into one!"

As the woman's grumbling resumed, Brad shook his head, glancing to the garment still curled over his boyfriend's arm. "I will never understand her." His indigo eyes caught Zul's curious look, to which he explained, "She looks a lot like our mother, who was a beautiful woman who made the dress. She was the type that could put on a ragged towel and make it glamorous. Alessa is much the same." His broad shoulders lifted and fell in a light shrug. "She's a pretty girl, much as she'd prefer not to be."

"I heard that."

"Don't make me regret complimenting you, sorella," came the calm reply, though his smile indicated he was simply picking on her. The older Italian rested his arm around Zeke's back again, leaning over to kiss his brow. "And don't worry babe. If she comes at you with one of the rejects, we'll have a nice night anyway, since you can't wear it forever..." Brad grinned a bit, taking a step away from the door again.

"I can still hear you!"

While the older sibling laughed, Zul again found himself a little lost. What was the big deal? She didn't like wearing dresses, and while he had simply assumed it was a preference back then, he found himself wondering more about the details of the 'why.' She did look nice in a dress. It was almost hard to recognize her as the same person! The demon's face lit with quiet understanding; maybe that was why! If she didn't look like herself, what was the point? Confident he'd figured out that puzzle, he crossed his arms, looking between the two men and the closed door that his woman was growling behind like a caged animal. "If this is what going on dates is like, I don't want any," he mused out loud.

The door opened. "Smart idea," Alex grumbled as she walked out a second time. Her posture was a little more straight, the beaded gown snug on her curves and leaving little doubt to her gender. The Italian's chin was lifted in a vicious sort of pride - a dare to say the obsidian and emerald gown wouldn't be going home with her. Sticking her thumbs beneath the straps, she gave them a tug before curling her lip in a grin at Zeke. "That enough lift and separate for you, Cakes?"

Brad took the dress from his boyfriend and threw it at his sibling. "Stop hitting on him, or I'm telling the chef!"

The indignant squawk that followed and the burning look she gave her older brother was very close to drawing lines of war. Folding the fabric over her forearm, she crossed her arms and stuck out her tongue. "That'll fall short pretty quick, don't you think? Oh hey, my sister is hitting on my boyfriend - coming from a guy - doesn't quite work." Alex was back in her element, even in the dress, a sure-fire way to determine that the gown had been found. "Especially once he gets put in that gold one." Vivid green eyes turned dangerously to Zeke. If there was any question to her trying on more, it was answered with her crooked grin, fingers drumming over the dress in her grasp.

The elder Italian gripped Zeke's elbow, returning the glare that was accepting her terms of war. "I think we ought to head to the car, Zeke, and if she's not there by the time we are, we leave..."

The demon didn't need to hear any more; with a delighted laugh, Zul spread his wings and began to zip out of the store. Whether or not they'd really leave her behind was not an issue in his mind. Getting home before the wrestling started? That was his goal!

Though her looks were defensive and she was all too ready to clobber him for anything he could have said, Zeke just kept on smiling at his sister. Even the threat didn't cause that silly grin to err, and his attention only wavered back to his two male companions once the dressing room door was shut once more. They should all really go out together more often. While his boyfriend was addressing Zul Zeke was quiet, but once that arm rested around his middle back Zeke leaned into it with a soft hum.

"Sounds like a wonderful plan babe," was the reply in a laugh. As Brad moved from the door, Zeke's foot went up against it again, joining in with the merriment his loved one was partaking in. Alex's angered tone was too funny, especially since they weren't really harming her with Brad's teasing of the younger man. Zeke looked to Zul as the demon spoke, shaking his head lightly as he automatically writ off dates as Alex sounded like a tiger being poked with a stick. "They're not all like this. Brad and I can attest to that, our dates are fun and casual dress if at all." He leaned into his boyfriend's side, giving the demonic Frei a grin and a wink, expecting the outburst from behind the door at that. There was no outburst, but the door started to open and Zeke finally dropped his foot, taking in Alex's proud appearance in the black and green number. This, Zeke was sure, was the dress.

"Ha, you got girl boobs!" He pointed at her chest as it was tugged in his direction, good humored mirth filling his eyes. He wasn't phased at all by the jostling as this was Alex, his veritable sister, and one of his best friends. She was just teasing him after all and if it caused any reaction at that moment it was that he now wanted Jell-o. He made to say more but Brad had snatched the remaining dress from him and chucked it at the younger Italian. Looking between the two dark haired siblings Zeke could already see the war declarations between them and was already imagining the scene once they got home. Sadly to him though, he left his Italian to English dictionary at home. When he was turned to, he merely stuck out his pierced tongue at Alex before holding his now dress-free arms up at her, showing he wasn't going to be the one poking her with that metaphorical stick. She did look lovely even if she was glaring daggers at him.

"Huh? ...Okay babe, sounds fair to me." The grip on his elbow had come as a surprise and he had almost missed what his loved one had said, but when the realization dawned on him, he gave Alex a wink as Zul's quick movements ruffled his nearly dried hair before pulling his elbow free of that grip and instead taking the older man's hand. He raised the other one in a brief finger wave to the spitfire of a woman before tugging her sibling out of that area behind him. When they got to that main section of floor, Zul was already gone outside, giving the younger man a moment to himself with Brad.

"Well this was fun wasn't it?" He'd be sure to tell Zul to sit behind the driver's side when they got out there, lest Alex try to start that battle mid-drive. When they reached the doors he held one open for the Italian man, grinning from ear to ear once again. He couldn't see Alex but was certain she was already at check out by now, knowing her brother's threats full well. He chuckled to himself; they would definitely have to go out more often.
