"I'm sure you'll get used to it, love," he said with an affectionate smile, turning his gaze towards Umoja with a little chuckle, "it's just a big change for us. I'm sure it's like this for everyone that wasn't born here."
His gaze turned back ahead of them as the male spoke, paws following in the wake of his footsteps. His own steps were more sure than they had first been when they entered the swamp lands, less hesitant at the feel of water over his leg fur, less turned off by the feel of the muddy bottom beneath his paw pads. "Well, I'm glad it's not too far a walk. I can't say that I'm used to this uh, terrain just yet," he nodded at the land around them with a jerk of his head, offering a nervous laugh. He noticed the strange way Demevlo spoke, but passed it off, not one to judge.

"It will take some getting used to." She smiled as she padded after the two of them. "Hopefully we can get ourselves settled and meet whoever we need to meet to be welcomed here." Roshan seemed to feel more comfortable here than he had just days before. He wasn't hovered over her shoulder watching, he was walking straighter, she was happy to see him relaxing finally.
This was definatly going to be the heaven they were looking for

"It did take some getting used to," Domevlo aggreed. "Not only the feel of the swamp but the smells,..once you are used to that, then it gets easier to catch the other little smells,... Cleanliness is a hard one though." He cave a chuckle of sorts.
"Hopefully, when we arrive, the king will be there, so you will not have too long to wait."
Domevlo had to wonder, with all these recent newcomers, just how their new king was handling it all. Not much had changed, or so it had seemed. Things were quieter, though, in a way Domevlo couldn't quite explain. It was as if the spirits were sleeping,...

"Well, we're not in a terrible hurry, so if the King's not there we truly don't mind waiting," he shook his mane out a little as he walked along behind the larger male, "it's not as if we have anywhere else to go." The words made him chuckle and he threw a sidelong glance at his mate, both to share his mirth with her and to also make sure she wasn't having a hard time of walking through the mucky waters of the swamp. He couldn't help but worry over her.
"I think, despite it being so different, we'll be perfectly fine here, so long as the king doesn't mind."

She was for the moment doing fine walking though the swamp waters since the water level seemed to be going down. Meeting the King almost made her nervous, not used to meeting those in power outside of her original experience, but it was exciting in another way. It was the beginning of a new life for she and Roshan.
"I'm sure we will be perfectly fine here." She smiled. "It called to us so there must have been something guiding our paws"

Domevlo felt the pull on his muscles of their, now up hill, climb.
"The pride has been growing rapidly in these recent weeks. The spirits,..must be calling many here. Maybe that is why they have been so quiet here. They're out there,...searching for those to lead here,..."
He stopped when he noticed he was wondering alloud, and noticed up ahead the trees seemed to be thining.
"We are just about there"
Domevlo was happy to see the pride growing. It made for something new each day, so life was seldomly boring. This wasn't the first time he had brought someone to the heart of the swamp lands though. Domevlo remembered the dark-furred Mono, who he had encountered in his earlier days here.
He had never thought he'd be much of a welcoming party, but he supposed it was all part of his assumed role in the pride - taking the odd-jobs, misclanious, and sometimes menial tasks. He was proud to do whateve he could for his home.

Roshan could feel the land shifting beneath his feet as it began to take a little more effort for him to move forward through the thinning, muddy water underfoot. "Perhaps so," he said with a nod in response to the male. He himself was slower on the uptake of these 'spirits', or talking about them openly at least, but he knew that Umoja believed in them heartily and if their new pride did as well he would come around to it. He didn't discount the belief, but it was different than his own upbringing, and he was more reserved on openly speaking of such things.
"Thank you for showing us to the way, Domevlo," he nodded at the male, though he knew he couldn't see him since he was ahead of him. "We might have found it alone, certainly, but it would have taken us a lot longer, tramping around and getting lost in these unfamiliar swamplands."

She caught up to Roshan once the land began to rise more firmly from under the water. Shaking her paws daintily as she walked she leaned over and nuzzled her mate gently. She knew he was not as in tune with the spirits but he would come around eventually and hopefully welcome them.
"We do owe you much for showing us to the pride lands."

"Kindness is the only currency I require," Domevlo said warmly.
And these two had been quite kind, and so, he was more than happy to escort them. Wondering about could be dangerous - expecially in the dark of night. 'gators were sometimes spotted in the murky swamp waters, and were to be avoided at all costs. They were hard enough to spot in the daylight. He could only imagine the horror they would pose at night.
Up ahead, Domevlo spotted light filtering through, and he stopped, and looked over his shoulder at the two.
"We are here,.."
He then walked the few more steps it took to reach the edge of the central lands, and pulled aside a thin wall of reeds.
Beyond them was the heart of the swamp.

Roshan chuckled lightly at the larger male's words, nodding his head as he stopped at his side. "Well, you shall have plenty of that from me then, as I can not thank you enough for this help." He did not find the idea of tramping around for hours in the swamp very appealing - especially if they got lost or ran into something unfortunate.
His gaze slid past the reeds that Domevlo pulled aside and Roshan dipped his head once more to the male. "Really, thank you so much for your help, Domevlo. I hope to see you again, once this is all said and done." He offered him a pleasant smile before turning to look back at Umoja. He leaned in to n** gently at her shoulder before moving past the open reeds, and into the heart of the pride. Now they just needed to find the King.

"I still feel i should repay you some how." She smiled at the large male. "If you are ever in need of anything i can provide please feel free to ask. I will help you if i can."
She butted Roshan's head slightly for the n** before following him into the center of the pride. She hoped so much that they had finally found somewhere they could safely call home. Somewhere that would welcome both of them and they could begin the life they should have had from the start.

Domevlo returned the smile, and watched the two as they passed. Domevlo still feared those who lived outside the pride's lands, but he supposed that there was kindness that could come from it. Of course, there had to be. It was a big world after all.
He followed the two inside. It was up to them now to find the king.
