Anjelius' ears immediately perked fowards at the other lion's voice, and following his escort's lead, bowed hed head.
"Thank you. My name is Anjelius," he introduced, as Jabari was ordered back to his patrol. "Yes, sir. It is about time that I find some place to stay. It is too dangerous out there for one to be alone. And I miss the comrodery that..I used to have," he finished lightly. "Jabari told me that your pride is governed by two kings - yourself, and Mfalme Hodari'rasi, and that the pride seeks warriors, aswell as messengers, and intelligence. And then we got to talking about babysitters,..." Anjelius gave a chuckle.
That,..was pretty much everything, wasn't it? Oh-
"He also mentioned fallen warriors. I didn't ask then, but I assumed, if I were permitted to stay, I would learn soon enough. If not, then it really wasn't any of my business. Besides - I've fought a small share of fights. I know that is not where my talents lay,..."

His brow lofted slightly at the mention of babysitters, a trace of amusement dancing through his eyes. "He likes to think that because his own cubs are little terrors that he can frighten others with talk of them. In truth, I am certain that our young are no different than any other pride's youth... With the exception being, perhaps, that we start their training at a younger age and hold them responsible for their own actions. Sometimes it is the only way that they will learn." He nodded slowly before turning to walk slowly, expecting the cheetah to follow him.
"We have mourned the loss of our brothers and sisters in the past, but the future ahead of us seems bright. Strength is something that must be built up again and lessons have been learned. It has made some of our members wary of those who come from the outside, but we never turn down those who are looking for a place to be... As long as they bring something to the whole as well. We act as one body, each part every bit as important as the next. If those who care for our cubs did not do so the huntresses could not hunt. If the huntresses did not hunt the warriors would not have the strength they need to guard our home."
He paused, glancing back at the cheetah. "That said... I would not expect you to help raise our young if that was not something you felt you could offer your strengths to. It is up to you to decide what you would be content doing. We would never force something on to you."

Anjelius followed, and listened intently.
"Thank you. Truth be told, I have never been around children. I'm not sure how I would be with them. As I told my escort - I was taken in when I was but a young cub by a lioness who had lost her own children. We were nomads, traveling from place to place. She never had any other children, since that first loss."
So what could he bring to the pride? Anjelius began to ponder.
"In our travels, we would sometimes have short stays in the prides we passed through. There was a lot I learned from each of them, from the kindest, most freespirited, to those who watched us as if we were criminals,... It became a favorite past time of mine, figuring out just how their minds worked - what made one group of lions, leopards, or cheetahs one way, and another group completely different." Anjelius then gave a small chuckle. "The mind is a scarey place to be, but...once you know what makes them tick, it becomes pretty easy to predict just how they are going to act. Takes time, though." So, it took a lot of blabbering but, what he was basically saying was... "So this is a pride of warriors,..would it not be benificial to have someone with such a knack?"

He listened to the cheetah for a moment with an almost child-like awe; the attention of someone who had only been outside of his home pride once, when he was many years younger. While their tasks were meant to make them learn more about the outside world and how to survive on their own he could not make the same claims that this cheetah was. His contact with those on the outside was mostly limited to those entering his pride... And those who had sought to destroy them.
"It would indeed be useful to have someone amidst us used to using the strength of their mind over the strength of their body. It would do well to give us a glimpse at others and, perhaps, new things to teach our young." He nodded slowly. "It is not unkind of me to suggest that you are also fast because you are a cheetah?"

Anjelius grinned, pleased with himself. It was always good to have a useful hobby. Even better to have experience. There were a few cons - time being one of those, but the big picture held a majority of the pros.
"Speed is, indeed, something that can be inferred." The short spurts of high speed a cheetah was capable of, anyway, Anjelius confirmed with a nod.

"So if we needed you to run a message out to one of the borders from time to time, along with sharing your knowledge with us, that would also be permissible?" His brow lofted slightly as he paused once more, head turning back to gaze at the cheetah again.

"Certainly," Anjelius said with a confident grin.
It would be fun. At least, that would be his innitial thought....if only he knew the true extent of what lay before them, then maybe he'd have had second thoughts. Well,...He was in for it now, come hell or high water.

"Good." He nodded before turning away once more. "If you'll give me a moment, I will go discuss things with my co-regent... He can sometimes be stubborn, but, I feel confident enough to say this now," He smiled as he glanced back, bowing his head politely in the cheetah's direction. "Welcome to the Mzawa'kondo."
