Dreamer watched him come back in, finally some action! Then as if remembering her manners Dreamer stuck out her hand. " I'm Dreamer, Dreamer Eversong by the way. " All this and she hadn't even given him her name, well her mind was in the gutter today. Doing as she was told, Dreamer cut the deck and then picked up the card on top of the new deck. She looked the card over, though she didn't really know what it was about and so handed it over to the man. " Here. " She was really excited now, wondering what kind of future lady fate was holding for her as she handed the card to the man.Hopefully not one to cruel, I wouldn't want my body shipped back over to my family. That would be disappointing. " I hope it says something good? " Her voice trying to maybe make the cards give something positive, not that it would do any good. The cards were totally random, or almost and she couldn't expect them to just bend for her sake. Fate rarely broke it's rules or bent them for people, she was out of luck on that part.

Fao's ears went up at hearing the woman's name and he snickered, then began laughing, putting a hand on the table to steady himself. "I think there's a fantasy novel missing a character out there now." He was trying to hold in the giggles, looking at her. Now was the time to be serious afterall, especially since the woman had drawn a card.

Clearing his throat, the young man took the card from her, getting back into work mode again. "Wheel of Fortune. This is a good card, Miss Silversong, full of potential and change. It's a good start for a reading."

He looked up at her through his auburn bangs, the lamp on the table making his golden eyes glow. "I have a feeling that the opportunities and fortune tied to this card will help a lot in running your bar, eh, lass?"

Upon seeing the man snicker and almost laugh at her in her face, Dreamer reddened. No one had ever laughed at her name, and although she had cursed her parents for the name when she was younger, she'd learned to just forget about it. She didn't know weather to laugh or be angry with him, she did smirk and almost laugh, before quickly covering it up with her hand and trying to look more serious as he started talking again. That had actually been a pretty funny way of putting her name into perspective. " That's Eversong mister...? " Haha, what was it with people trying to avoid answering her when she asked for a name? Really, this wasn't the first time it happened and it was aggravating. But Dreamer didn't even have time to act or seem irritated once he passed a comment about her bar. Her eyes grew huge and she paled. " How did you know I owned a bar. " Technically not a bar but a club lounge, though the small detail was not really important for now. When Trystan had said the lower districts already knew about some things about her, she didn't know the whole damn city was included!

"Grady. My name's Faolan Grady," he all but purred out in response, moving to sit in the chair opposite hers now, one hand idly fingering the tarot deck, giving his best seductively charming look. "I am what I am and you wonder how I know things? You know, we don't see many death fae around these parts. Thought you lot kept to your kind, not dredging the mortal world running bars and nightclubs."

Dreamer actually let her mouth drop open in a nice little 'O'. " Holy crap! " The moment the words were out of her mouth she'd used both hands to cover it, Dreamer didn't swear, nor did she ever look surprised. No one had figured it out before, she'd never released the information and when questions were asked she evaded them. No one had seen her wing either except for one certain individual whom she knew wouldn't share the information; all this excluding George the butler of course. Faolan Grady... The name was forever engraved within her mind, how the hell had he figured it out?! Dreamer blinked a few times, she'd only picked one card up! Now that she had a name, she would make sure to research on the runes his back had, she wanted to know exactly what he was. Then she removed her hands from her mouth once she was capable of closing it, she just didn't know what to say. " I.. I uhm... Uhm yea... " Dreamer, passed a hand through her hair. " Yea we uhm keep to ourselves, I'm the uhm only one in the city or anywhere else for that fact. " Yea, wanted to leave the home nest before I was forced to settle down. Yup, and opening a bar was just to have fun.

Faolan grinned at her reaction. Well, that was certainly not what he'd expected. He lounged back in his chair, watching her with a lazy, cat-like expression. Moving his hand to the side, he fanned the remaining cards out on the table and picked up one at random from the center of the deck, then held it up. Death. "Tell me, lost little fae. Is this your card?"

He couldn't help enjoying himself in this. It'd been a long time since someone had reacted so much from a reading, and never anyone that was more than human. "Tell me, why would someone who's life revolves around death be interested in opening a business that promoted living to the fullest? You strike me as something of a mystery."

Dreamer still couldn't talk, she was as speechless as can be. Though when the death card was brought up, she gave him a cheshire cat like grin and plucked the card from his hand, looking it over. " Yes, this is my card, though I'm not lost. " Her words were slow as she thought about it, the cards were indeed infused with Lady fate's hand. " He's not such a bad man. " Dreamer handed him the card back and leaned back, still quite stunned at everything that was happening; in other words, the deck of cards. She still couldn't believe it, why hadn't she gone to a fortune teller before today! That's was amazing, and very exciting. She just wanted him to keep picking up cards, though knew at one point the reading would end. Not all things may be revealed to you, someone had once said to her. She predicted it was one of her old teachers, teaching about Lady Fate herself and her workings. Just wow... Cards, the simplest thing and so easily over bookable and yet here she sat. One man knowing just about every little secret, she'd kept from everybody else in the city.

At his next question she smirked.
" You can say life back home got boring and I was being forced into things I didn't want. " Settling down and marriage with a idiot she didn't even now. She chuckled softly. " I don't have that great of powers, I'd have to use them regularly for me to actually kill someone from maybe just a look. And trust me, there are a few times that I've wished that I could kill someone with a single look. " Trystan, she though miserably. " For now, I just content myself with putting a stamp of approved or refused on people so that Death can or cannot kill them. It's usually his choice in the end, but you know. He likes killing people. " She chuckled again, ah a rare side of Dreamer no one or rarely anyone saw. But she felt great relief from another person knowing her secrets, she'd always found it hard to keep it all behind closed doors. " I like living thank you very much, I enjoy people and I enjoy just having fun. I didn't become Grand Duchess by having fun. " Sad but true. " I doubt I'll be around for long though, that's actually my question. " How to put this in words. " Let's just say, someone tried killing me and failed, and now I'd like to know if the same employer's are sending someone else to finish the job not done. "
PostPosted: Sun May 24, 2009 8:44 pm

Faolan shrugged languidly. "I'm afraid I can't answer that question for you, Miss Eversong. There are some things even my deck can't show. Believe me, I've tried." His voice had a soft, sad note in saying that, but he quickly grinned and gave her one of his usual charming looks. "I would have thought, however, you'd want to know if anyone in Farstep would be wanting to leave to join your bar's entertainment staff. You don't need the cards for that answer, lass. I can tell you that true enough."

Dreamer sighed, she really didn't want to have to dip into the darker parts of Vargash, she hadn't wanted to be put to the level of the other nobles when she was so far above them. But now she had no choice, she would have to do a search and destroy mission. Death would happily saunter over and kill them, he usually killed anyone that bothered the Death fae's. " That's okay, just means I'll have to take care of the problem now. " She'd have to ask George to come with her and drag her back home, there was more then one person to kill and the pleasure her breed got from killing would probably make Dreamer want to walk around the city killing a few more people, and it would get easier as she did it. To his next question she reddened slightly. " I didn't want to seem rude, you know no mixing pleas-- Erm... Fun and work together. But yes, oh great master mind of the cards I am looking for dancers. " Yup his new name would now be mastermind f the cards, and yet Dreamer was so clueless as to whom had really given the prediction.

"Aye, well, good luck to you then, lass. There'll be no dancers here for you," Faolan said, standing up. "You're welcome to ask them or my Da, but they'll all tell you true; there won't be anyone leavin' the carnival to dance for an outsider's bar."

He slipped her ring back off his pinkie and held it out to her. "Hope you find the answers to your other questions, bonny lass. Sorry I couldn't be more help you to."

Dreamer took back the ring, sighing lightly. " Your father runs this place? " She waved her hand around, why couldn't she just get one dancer? " You sure I can't convince him? I really just need one dancer, and it would be maybe once or twice a week. Not many hours, good pay. " She was trying to be a little hopeful, maybe Faolan's father might just be persuaded? It's not like she was asking for a whole pack of them, and certainly not everyday for insane hours. Plus, the pay was good, that had to count for something. Rubbing her eyes, Dreamer turned to Faolan. " Take me to your father, I would like to at least have a short word with him. If anything, I may as well just give it a small try. "

Faolan raised an eyebrow, then laughed. "Yeah, alright. I'll take you to him. I need some cheap entertainment." He ushered her out of the booth, shutting the door behind him. There was no worry of anyone stopping by while he was out, the other carnival workers would keep an eye on things. He motioned Dreamer to follow him, leading her through the grounds to a vardo across the way. "I'm not even sure he's in."

Stepping up to knock, Fao was all but pushed down the stairs as the door flew open to reveal an eldery bear of a man who was decidedly not of demon decent. "Lad, what the hell? Why aren't you getting us money?" He pulled Faolan over, arm around the young man's shoulders, then noticed Dreamer. "I swear, boy, you best not be bringin' more fillies home. I like that Ellandra and she's good to you. Get rid of this one. She looks high maintenance."

"Da, this is Dreamer, who I am most certainly not involved with. She wants to ask about hiring some of the dancers to do shows at her bar," Faolan said, giving the man an incredulous look.

Keagan looked her over, then dropped his hand from Fao's shoulders to his side. "No."

Cheap entertainment? What did that mean? Pushing the thought aside Dreamer followed Faolan to his father's uhm vargo? " Well let's hope he's in. " Though as soon as Faolan had been sent to the floor by the door, Dreamer wished she had never even asked about his father. The only thing that reassured her was that the man was clearly human, nothing out of the ordinary if he wasn't so huge. It didn't help the mans mouth was quite dirty, the hell she looked high maintenance. She was in leggings and a plain tank top for heavens sake! " If you think I'm high maintenance, you ain't seen nothing sweetheart. " She retorted, her words teasing yet underneath there was venom. It was already bad enough Faolan called her lass, she didn't need his father calling her a filly of all things. " And no I'm definatly not involved with Faolan. " The hell she would date a demon, it would be like spitting on her heritage. It bothered her even more that he'd just answer her with a no when obviously Faolan had left out a few key points. " Will you please at least hear me out? "

Keagan raised an eyebrow at the woman. Who the ******** was she to come to his carnival and throw attitude around then ask to use his dancers? "Good thing you ain't involved with that one, hellspawn, I might have to actually kill you," he told his son in his usual good-natured "I might not actually be joking" kind of way.

He looked at the woman again. "Lass, let me lay it out for you, since you didn't hear me the first time. No." He lit a cigar and blew a little of the smoke her way before continuing. "And let me explain it to you so we don't have this conversation again. This is my carnival and those are my dancers. They're not here for the good pay or hours, they're here because of family. Most were born and raised in Farstep. We don't need an outsider breaking up our happy little family. You won't be getting any of mine to work for you. You might even ask a few, but they'll tell you true, they don't want to work for you or anyone else. This is their home and they'll do right by it. The conversation is over." He folded his arms over his chest, staring her down. "If you ain't here to spend money, get out of my carnival. I won't have you poaching my performers."

Faolan looked at her and shrugged. He'd told her so, after all. Worse, he knew his dad was going to knock the crap out of him for bringing the woman over to bother him. He gestured off. "Come, lass. I'll show you out if you're done here."

If Dreamer wasn't so pleased with Faolan's tarot reading she might of had actually killed his father, and to prove so she shot Faolan a I-wish-I-could-kill-him look. She ignored the remark about dating her, she wouldn't stoop so low as to retort again. Faolan wasn't her type anyways. It took all her effort not to beat down the man when he blew smoke into her face, which never reached. Instead it seemed to part and just disappear into thin air. She couldn't understand the family concept, she hadn't been raised that way but she sure knew she wasn't trying to break up their 'family'. Just goes to show how ignorant humans are. She thought bitterly. " Yes this conversation is over. " She said sourly, turning to Faolan. " I shall show myself out, might want to read your fathers fate. Wouldn't want death knocking on his door anytime soon. " Oh yes, that had been a threat. It was the first time she'd ever even used a threat in the city, then again she'd never been treated so poorly. Hell she hadn't even threatened to kill Trystan and he'd been out to actually kill her! But this man had just insulted her, judged her without even knowing her, that truly pissed her off. It was only for Faolan's sake that he was still standing and breathing, if anything she was sure she could hear death giggling in a corner. How he enjoyed watching his one and only creation that had wandered away to face the real world.
