She yelped as the thing snagged her fingers, small tears rising to the corners of her eyes. Closing her eyes for a moment to keep from full out crying, she managed a small sniffle and forced the feeling away. Shy looked at the knocker, as if trying to understand a most complex puzzle and tried not to think about how hard he was biting into her fingers. She didn't hesitate to reach out and pat it on it's head. "I'm sorry," she said, her voice contrite as she stared at her, her face just a bit sheepish and more than apologetic. "That wasn't very nice of me, was it, teasing you like that. Do you forgive me?" She was talking to the knocker as if it were the most natural thing in the world. It made perfect sense to her; he moved, it got angry therefore it was some kind of creature and well...Shylo loved creatures, except for spiders, spiders were icky. She wiggled her fingers a little, hoping the knocker would let go of her, even if only a little. It really was starting to hurt again. "Do you think you could let us in?" she asked as an afterthought.

Parker jumped as the girl yelp and turned quickly to make sure she was okay. But when Shylo very calmly started speaking to the door in chastened tone, he turned to Cole. "Are you sure she's all there?" He thought it was obvious he was talking about mentally. What kind of person spoke to an inanimate object.

Nia smiled at Crystal, amused by her answer as to why no one was answering. She'd have to see if the girl was receptive to being hit on by another woman later, when they figured out what in the world was going on. "The back door, hm? Why don't you and I go look, shall we?" Without giving Crystal room to disagree, she grabbed the younger girl's hand and dragged her along behind her, grabbing the male youth along the way. "Come my dears, let's find us a back door, yes?" She had an arm wrapped around each of their shoulders.

She deliberated, smiling slightly as she did her best imitation of a business man. "80-20" she offered, resting the hand he'd released on her hip, completely absorbed with the interaction. She really couldn't give a flying fart what was going on behind her.

((Tomorrow I plan to go to the bookstore for a couple of hours, while I'm there I'll put together 2 more newborns and one more elder for WOH and I'll put them up when I get home. I figured we hadn't gotten far and most of where we did get was interaction with the others, so maybe start over? Lemme know what you think.))

Cole turned at the sound of Shylo's yelp and immediately looked at the door knocker.
"Hey, hey!" he yelled at the thing. He went to go move towards it, but the knocker's face seemed to soften at Shylo's words. Slowly, it loosened it's jaw and let her fingers go. A small squeak was emitted form it's maw before the doorknob turned and the door itself opened a crack. The knocker's eyes returned to their normal color and it's mouth shut normally again.
Cole stood there for a moment, slightly shocked, yet still almost expecting it. He slowly put his hand on Shylo's shoulder.
"You.......okay?" he asked, not paying any attention to Parker's comment. Though he did wonder himself sometimes....

Nikolas seemed to consider her proposal for a moment, bringing his hand up to his chin.
"Hmm...I may be able to accept that," he said after a moment. "But I may also have to re-negotiate later. Depends on how much this relationship pleases me in the long run."

Crystal stumbled for a moment before catching her footing and following along with Nia. She walked along with her, glancing over at Lucius before smiling again.
"I wonder if there even is a back door," she giggled.

Lucius was caught off guard by Nia. He definitely wasn't expecting to be dragged off wherever they were going. He wasn't even sure.
"Hey," he said, looked over to Crystal when she spoke. "If we don't even know if there is one, then why are we going?"
'And why do I keep getting dragged into things?'

((That's fine with me. I figured that would probably be the best.))

((You have no idea how much you just alleviated my boredom by posting!! ^o^))

She smiled at the knocker as soon as he released her, waggling her fingers to make sure nothing was broken. Though they were still tender and a few indention's could be seen from the knockers teeth, she was fine; he hadn't even broken skin. But she thought a little longer and a bit more strength and he probably would have. Turning to Cole, she held her hand out for him to examine. "I'm okay." Waggling her fingers again, she stayed still and waited for him to relax. "I'm sorry."

Koda laughed again. "Alright then, Mr.Nickolas. I believe we have a deal." She held out her hand again, intending to shake and make it final. "For the time being," she added. "I believe this will be a mutually beneficial relationship, on both sides, Mr. Nickolas." Another grin formed. It was fun talking with the airs of a rich, important person.

Nia glanced at the youth and impatience formed. "What's you name, boy? Unless you like to be called boy?" She knew he probably wasn't much younger than she was, maybe a couple of years between them. It was more to see his reaction than anything and she wondered if he would catch that. He seemed intelligent enough. She turned to Crystal then, smiling sweetly. "Why, dear, if there isn't, we'll simply walk back around and face the problem anew. Do you agree with that creed?"

She continued to walk quickly, her pace strong and filled with an almost appealing vitality.

((I'm glad I could be of assistance X3))

Cole looked over her fingers quickly before looking back to Shylo. Unwilling to admit it, he was revealed that she was alright.
"I told you that you were going to make it angry," he scolded, though his tone of voice was less angry than he had been the few times he had yelled at her earlier. Whether he did admit it or not, he was growing ever so slightly attached to his sister. She was blood, after all. And he had never really spent much time with her to realize if he even liked her at all.

Nikolas took Koda's hand in a firm hand shake. He gave her a nod as he shook her hand.
"That's right Miss Koda, I believe it will be," he agreed.

Lucius looked at Nia for a short moment before answering.
"Lucius..." he said, not really liking the fact that she had called him 'boy'. He wasn't usually talked down on when it came to ages, but then again, she didn't really know him. He couldn't blame her.

Crystal nodded and gave I shrug.
"I suppose that works," she agreed before the back yard started to become visible. It was all fenced in, which was slightly odd since it was quite a large back yard. The fence ran down a large, slopping hill side that held a long path. There was a small garden with various flowers planted and, after looking a bit carefully, Crystal spotted a back door.
"Hey! There is one!" she pointed out. "Now we just have to get over the fence."

((^_^))

"But he's okay now," she said, turning away from him to enter the little green house. She was grinning as she said this and reached out to pat the knocker on the head again. "Thank You, Mr. Knocker," she said, before stepping past him and into the house, curiosity getting the best of her. She'd known all along there was at least a little bit of affection for her and she felt happy knowing she'd just proved that, even if it was again, just a little bit.

Parker sighed and shook his head as he saw Shylo pat the knocker and talk to it again. Cole hadn't answered his question earlier so he wasn't going to bother asking again. He would just keep his opinions to himself. He sighed again and walked inside, wondering what kind of trouble she would get them in this time. Really, walking into a dark, supposedly empty house without letting others go into check. Really, the girl was a walking time-bomb. She really was slippery, as Cole had said. He was sure he would prefer the company of some of the others more than he would Shylo's. She was a freaking hazard in the making.

Letting go of his hand again, she noticed the two of them were the only one's left outside, aside from Cole. She assumed the others had either gone inside gone to do some other kind of exploring. Oh well. Grinning at Nickolas, she walked forward, stopping short of the door. "It's either Koda or Kodalina," she said, shaking her head and smiling, "No Miss please."

"Luc, Crystal, I think the easy part will be climbing the fence. Getting inside might be just a tad bit harder." She was already mounting and straddling the fence as she was speaking, not at all perturbed by the fact that she was wearing high heels. "Luc, do you suppose you could help Crystal over the fence if she needs it?" She landed with a small thud on the other side, her heels digging into the soft grass. She assumed if Luc didn't want to be called well, Luc, he would say something, otherwise she was going to continue to shorten his name.

((Sorry I didn't reply last night. I was on later than usual and I was tired XP Tonight I have a band thing again, so I probably won't be on later, depending on how long it goes till.))

Cole watched Shylo as she entered the house. He had a feeling that it was probably a bad idea, but he didn't know what else to do. That, and he figured she probably wouldn't let him stop her anyway.
He slowly walked inside. He went momentarily blind as his eyes adjusted to the much dimmer light of the indoors. He squinted and blinked to try to make the process a bit faster.
When they finally adjusted, it seemed to be a normal house. Well, almost. There was plenty of furniture like couches, chairs, and tables. But not much else. There were few decorations on the walls save for some mirrors and some nick-nacks hung.
On a few of the tables, there were various plates of food that, upon closer inspections, where still steaming if they were warm dishes and quite cold if they were cool ones. They appeared to be very fresh, yet there was no one there to eat them.
On yet other tables and scattered about the ground were shinning jewels. They came in many different colors and were a wide range of sizes.
It was a peculiar house, to say the least.

Nikolas pouted for a quick moment before following along behind Koda.
"But 'miss' had a certain elegance to it," he protested. "But I will respect your wishes miss......I mean Kodalina."
His last 'slip of the tongue' was quite obviously not a slip of the tongue for he smiled while saying it.

Lucius eyed Nia as she spoke. He couldn't quite decide if her apparent nickname for him was one he cared for or not. He didn't particularly care, so he didn't say anything. In fact, thinking about it, he was somewhat surprised by the fact that no one had called him Luc before.
"If I have to," he said in response to her question. He glanced over to Crystal to see if she would agree with the comment.

"Oh, don't worry, I think I should be able to get over fine," Crystal said with a smile towards Lucius. She walked over to one side of the fence and placed her hands firmly on the top. She lifted herself as best she could until she could bring her leg up over it. She didn't really think of the fact that she was wearing a skirt, but it wouldn't have bothered her if she did. Once her one leg was over the top, she brought the other one over as well before letting herself fall to the ground on the other side.
"See!" she said, looking through the fence. "Easy peasy!"

((No prob. I'm just fooling around for the most part, trying to think of characters, lol. Have fun with your band thing!^o^))

Skipping around inside the house Shylo looked around with all the excitement of a child, despite her age. The place was interesting, to say the least. She bent down to pick up a shiny blue gem, turning it over and over in her hand as she studied the house. The sparse walls gave little to nothing away about who lived there, yet the food on the table hinted at a somewhat generous host. Walking forward, she eyed the foods, before grabbing a plump green grape out of a bowl and plopping it into her mouth. She grinned and grabbed another one, the juices and flavor sweet. Grabbing another one, she turned to the others. "What do you think?"

It was almost odd hearing someone aside from her family call her Kodalina as almost everyone preferred to shorten it. Oh well, she'd already told him he could call her that so she'd have to adjust. Grinning at his comment, she shook her head again and stepped inside behind Parker, Cole and Shylo. "See, now I'm tempted to call you Nicky," she quipped, sending a sly glance over her shoulder.

Parker walked past Shylo and Cole, searching the small place for a backdoor. He wanted to make sure the others were alright. He didn't know them really, not even Nia, but he hadn't thought it was a good idea for them all to split up. He breathed a small breath of relief when he spotted it, hiding behind a high backed chair. He moved to open it and look for the others.
PostPosted: Tue May 19, 2009 6:23 pm

((It got over at 8, so I still have some spare time X3 Oh, and for the things laying around the house, if anyone takes the gems, I have something planned for later. More than one can, as well. I haven't decided whether one or more of mine will take one yet. And for the food, if someone eats it, they will turn the color of the food. X3 It's a weird place, after all.))

"I think this place is weird," Cole answered, looking around the room. He couldn't help but eye the jewels that lay about. Whoever lived there must have been loaded to have so many of the gems. Then again, perhaps they were fake. He wouldn't know the difference so...maybe someone else wouldn't.

Nikolas cocked his head to the side. He hadn't been called Niky in years.
"You wouldn't do that to me," he said, giving her yet another pout. Really, he didn't care too much if she did call him Niky, he just liked being the drama queen. Or....king. Whatever.

Lucius got himself over the fence rather sloppily. But he got over it nonetheless. He got to his feet on the other side and glanced around. The garden was very tastefully decorated. He didn't know much about plants, but there were quite a few in there that he had never seen before. He didn't think much of it and simply looked over to the other two.
"Well then?"

Shy stuffed the blue stone into her pocket absentmindedly, turning in a full circle to look around once more. When she caught sight of her reflection in one of the mirrors, she stopped, simply staring, unsure what to say or do. Her skin was the pale green of the grapes she'd just eaten. "Cole...." She tried really hard not to freak out but she....green.

Parker pulled open the back door and when he caught sight of the others, let out a small sigh. They looked fine all together so he let himself relax a little before calling out to them. "Over here." He turned his attention then to the rest of the back yard. More grass and an extremely large, fenced in area. Not for the first time he wondered what the Roberts were thinking when they'd come up with this place. He turned back to Crystal and the others. "You're alright?"

Her usual smile grew larger, though he couldn't see it as she wasn't facing him anymore. She leaned over to pick up a pair of jewels, one green and the other deep red. "Only if you really didn't want me to," she said, before turning and tossing him the green jewel. Though she'd said it with her usual joking manor she thought it was obvious she was being serious.

Aerenia smiled at Parker as she walked towards him, not quite as awed by the backyard as the others seemed to be. "Of course we're fine. It's not like we're going to get attacked in the place." She walked past him, leaving him to content with the two youths she'd forced to come with her. Parker was immune to her flirting so she'd try some of the other males.
PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 2:18 pm

Cole had been looking absentmindedly around the house when he heard Shylo call his name.
"What?" he answered, slowly turning to her. When his eyes landed on his sister, they widened. Was it just the lighting in the house or was she....green? He ran over to her and grabbed her arm, bringing it closer to his face so he could examine it.
"What the hell?!" he exclaimed. "Parker, get over here!"

Lucius walked back inside, pulling himself away from staring at the garden. He glanced at Parker as he walked in, but didn't say anything. Something seemed suspicious and it wasn't just the fact that they seemed to be in an entirely different world. He wondered if the Roberts had planted this place as a joke on some of their more curious guests. Well la-di-da. He wouldn't have even stumbled upon this place if it hadn't been for Crystal...

Crystal looked up to see Parker at the back door and bounded happily over to him.
"What she said," she replied, walking inside. She glanced around the house, quickly taking in her surroundings. It was very interesting and rather quaint. She was staring up at the walls when she heard a voice from somewhere in front of her.
"Excuse me?" came the quiet, small-sounding voice.
She stopped and looked around. She didn't see it at first, but then noticed something on the ground in front of her. It was a brown rabbit that seemed to be staring up at her. She squatted down to look at it, a large grin on her face.
"Aww, hello there," she greeted.
The rabbit wiggled it's nose for a short moment before opening it's mouth again. "I'm sorry to bother you miss, but I'm very hungry. You wouldn't happen to have any food would you?"

Nikolas' hands shot out in front of him when Koda threw the gem at him. He caught it, closing his hands over it before opening them to look at the jewel.
"Why thank you..." he said, still staring at the thing. He held it up towards the light that was filtering in through on of the cracks in the window shade. It sparkled in the light and seemed to be genuine. Shrugging, he placed it into his pocket before looking back up to Koda.
"You think the Roberts will miss these?"

((Sorry it took so long to post. I got distracted reading a good manga, lol!!))

Parker sighed as all three of them walked past him though he really couldn't say anything especially since he didn't know them. Still. Oh well. He stayed outside for a moment, studying the grass and fence and flowers, thinking. He really wished he'd stayed home. He sighed again and was about to walk back inside when Cole called him. He hadn't heard the other guy sound panicked before but Parker was certain he was now. Quickly he entered the small house again but stopped at the sight of Shylo. Was she...green? He moved forward and took her other arm, examining her skin. "She's...green..."

Shylo held still as both Cole and Parker grabbed her arms, trying to not freak. It's not a big dea, she told herself, not a big deal! Right. "Make it go away," she mumbled, looking down at her arms, "I don't wanna be green!!"

Peeking around Cole's shoulder, she leaned on him, studying the girl and her pale green skin. She raised a brow at Shylo's comment but said nothing, thinking. "What did you do?" she asked. She wasn't going to say anything obviously, but the sight of the girl was just plain amusing.

"You're most welcome." The commotion around the girl had Koda turning her attention to her, though she remained away from the group. "Probably not," she answered, still watching the girl, twisting her small jewel between her fingers. "Green with envy you think?" she asked, keeping her voice quiet as she looked at Nickolas, amused.
PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 5:12 pm

((It's okay. I had to go get dinner and then take a shower anyway XP))

Cole was doing his best to stay calm for his sister, but was finding it difficult. She was green after all. He bit his lip to keep himself from yelling anything.
"She's not...sick is she?" he asked, looking up at Parker. His eyes seemed to say everything. He wanted to calm his sister down, but he didn't know how if he didn't know what was wrong with her.

Lucius glanced over when he heard the commotion with the girl. He walked over just in enough time to hear Cole's question. He stared at Shylo for a moment before looking to Cole.
"There are no diseases I know of that turn all of someone's skin green," he said in response. "Unless she somehow contracted some sort of skin condition, but I highly doubt that's possible. I've never heard of such a thing happening before."

Nikolas looked to Koda, one eyebrow raised and a small grin on his face.
"Jealous of you? Of course," he replied.

Crystal tilted her head to the side at the comment of rabbit.
"Food? Maybe I can find some," she replied before standing back up. She glanced around before finding a plate of a beautifully prepared salad. She picked it up and brought it to the rabbit. She held it out in front of her, offering it over.
"Will this do?"
Without a word, the rabbit immediately started nibbling at the lettuce, seeming very pleased with the meal. After a few minutes, it stopped and looked back up to Crystal.
"Thank you very much miss!" it said. "You may take this as a thanks. It will help you out in whatever situation you need."
At that, the rabbit hopped off, finding it's way outside through a small hole in the wall. Left where it had been standing was a vile of a dark colored liquid. Crystal picked it up and looked at it questioningly. How odd...

"Of me? Hardly." Koda laughed and shook her head. As entertaining as the green girl was she was starting to get bored, despite Nickolas keeping her laughing. Maybe if they figured out what was wrong with her they could move on? That would be good. Not that she had any ideas.

Shylo was starting to shake, her fear growing worse. They didn't know what was wrong with her and how to fix it. She couldn't blame them though, after all, they didn't even really know where they were. She bit her lip and looked around, thinking. "Ah!" Pulling away from them, she rushed over to the door and patted the knocker on the head again. "Mr. Knocker! Please help!"

That's it. She's totally crazy he thought, watching her speak with the door knocker again. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, keeping his comments to himself. He had a feeling it would be completely unwelcome at the moment but maybe he'd bring it up again later. Maybe...

((Sorry it's all so short...Not really anything to say for Nia...))
PostPosted: Wed May 20, 2009 5:57 pm

Crystal walked over to the group, holding the vile in her hand.
"Hey guys, I just talked to a bunny and it gave this to me," she said, as if it were the most normal thing in the world. She stared at the vile and shook it slightly. Some of the liquid inside bubbled a bit before settling down to the way it was before. She then looked up at the others, not quite noticing Shylo's condition.
"It said it would help."

Cole dropped Shylo's hand as she ran off to the door knocker again. He stared forlornly at her, at a loss as to what he should do. It was a slight relief to know that she probably wasn't sick, but they still didn't know what was wrong with her. He felt rather helpless as he watched her talk to the door knocker again, which wasn't responding.
"Shy...." he said, taking a step towards her. "I don't think the door knocker is going to help anything...."

Lucius stared at Shylo, still searching his mind for any possibly reason for her sudden 'illness'. As he had suspected, there was something 'off' about this place. Perhaps they were all drugged when they went through the door? That would explain the door's sudden disappearance. But it wouldn't explain the reason they were all seeing the same delusion. She let out an exasperated sigh as he turned around.
He paused and listened to Crystal's comment.
'She talked......to a rabbit?' he thought to himself. 'I take it back....maybe she's drugged.'

Nikolas just shrugged and glanced over at a table nearby. There was a bowl of strawberries. He grabbed one and popped it into his mouth. He pulled out the stem and leaves and placed them back on the table. He then shoved his hands into his pockets, not noticing their new pinkness.

Koda watched the girl, many jokes coming to mind but she couldn't bring herself to speak them. Shylo looked scared, her movements harried. As much fun as it was to poke fun at people Koda couldn't do it when the other person was freaking out so badly. Turning back to Nikolas, she could do nothing more than stare and hold back giggles when she caught sight of him. She reached out to poke his cheek, as if making sure she wasn't seeing things. "You're pink," she stated, shaking with the laughter she was trying to hold back.

Parker hesitated as his eyes followed Shylo, before turning to Crystal. She'd talked to a...rabbit? He wasn't sure what to make of that or the rest of the situation but slowly he turned to her. The vial was small and when it got bubbly because Crystal shook it up, he was reminded of soda and carbonation. Well, whatever it is, he would have to take Crystal's word on the matter. "Do you mind if we try it on her?" he asked. He would be keeping his thoughts about her talking to rabbits to himself."Or would you rather do it?"

She was at a loss now. Why wasn't the knocker helping her again? Was he mad at her? Shy turned back to Cole but didn't look up at him. She was scared but could she possibly do to fix it? None of them knew anything about this place so what could they do?

Whens he heard one of the other girls mention something about being pink, she looked around and spotted Nikolas. So...maybe it was contagious?

Aerenia sighed as everyone focused on the younger girl. She was bored and everyone else was distracted. Plus there were too many people in the room. She really didn't like to be crowded, though watching them change colors was slightly amusing. Still. She didn't say anything as she stepped outside and into the backyard again. They would come find her eventually when they decided it was time to go or there was yet another problem.
