Vasile was cooling off from his morning run. Taking deep, controlled breaths of air, he leaned down, putting his hands on his knees, and began to try and cool down. He walked into the water of the ocean- the feel of the foam on his bare feet felt good over his hot skin. Unlike stateside beaches, Vasile foudn he could run barefoot without having to worry about broken glass every other step. Sure there was still dirftwood and rocks, but he could generally aviod those. In truth, being barefoot just felt so much better to him now. He toenails were long and comfortable in his shoes.
He looked out over the horizon, breathing in the calming beauity of the ocean, when he spotted something. Was that... could it be...
Oh. My. God. A boat.
His heart jumped in his chest and for several moments he didn't know what he should do. Alert the otheres? Try to start a fire? Oh, his life for a flaire gun right about now.
"HEY!" Yes, he knew they couldn't hear him, but its reactionary.
Vasile becan to scream and wave his hands, jumping up and down.
And for the first time in his life, he did something similar to praying.

Joliette saw him waving and quirked a brow. Not exactly the reaction she would have expected from a movie set but she presumed he was keeping in part. "Whats with the costume" she muttered She pulled the Princess close but her first reaction wasn't to reply or see if he needed help.. it was to lean over and aim her camera at the star and snap a couple photos before leaning on the frame of the boat between her camera and the wheel. "Hello Mr. DiRossi" she called out idling the boat barely offshore so it didn't beach itself

Meanwhile, back in the monitering room of the laboratory facility, Sabin was leaned back in the big plush chair and keeping his eyes on the moniters. Ironically, he mused to himself, this was one of the only places on the Island that wasn't being monitered.
Sabin had only recently got up, staying up late the night before to have the final iteration of the serum ready for Moreau today. And it was done, finally. Sabin was a bit annoyed that this one - the first full test drive of his own combination serum had been taken out of his hands... following under Moreau's direction for what he was looking to do with the serum - he had already hand-picked the target, who would be arriving soon. Admittedly.... this would be a perfect test-drive of it - starting a subject out from square one with it.... and would hopefully open up the opportunity to let Sabin have full control of the next one - after he made sure it worked. That and he unfortunately hadn't completed the serum that allowed him to specify what features went where... so he would have time to finalize that.
Sabin was sleepily contemplating his plans, when his eyes caught on movement on one of the moniters, causing him to simultaneously sit bolt-upright and spit out his coffee. "********!" He exclaimed, as he saw a rather snazzy-looking boat motering dangerously close to the Island.... Punching a few buttons he got a closer look..... only to pale as he saw a HUGE telephoto lens on board.
Sabin took a couple breaths, calming down. Okay, this wasn't too bad. Not really - it could be good. It was too late for the young woman, though.
Picking up the tiny walkie-talkie, Sabin punched the code for whichever of the upper level faculty was listening. "Code 36!! Code 36!! Abandoning monitering stations and proceeding to Quadrent JI46. Dispatch a runner to sector on my orders to aquisition the vehicle."
Jumping out of his chair, Sabin, now fully awake, slipped on his flip-flops and started jogging to the jeep.

Vasile was freaking out. He refused to let his eye off the boat. As it got closer he sw a woman with cameras. When she got close enough, she called his name.
Wait a sec... was she...?
He shook his head and pushed that thought aside. He didn;t care if it was Weekly Wolrd News... it was a boat!
"YES! Yes its me, please, we need help!"

"Help? With what? I'm not exactly interested in doing much... besides exposing your fake death" she called back believing he was one of the few there. She wasn't quite close enough to see his desperation was authentic, and not just a part of whatever movie she thought was being filmed. Oooo her editor would love this one, she could see the dollar signs now and the headline with her byline 'Vasile DiRossi Exposed!'

Aubrey flipped open her radio. "Sabin, meet me at the Jeeps."
Aubrey tapped her fingernails on her desk. Moreau was locked up in his labs again, making her effectly the highest position on duty. She took a deep breath then unlocked and opened her bottom left desk drawer. The hand-held pistol and a box of ammunition was all that was in there. SHe hated these things, but she knew the procedure.
She took the gun, checked to see if it was loaded, and slid it in the back of her pants, under her labcoat, keeping it hidden, and went off to meet with Sabin.

Vasile stopped, his eyes widening. "DEATH? They say I'm DEAD?!?!" His blood ran cold and he planted his hands on his hips, a look of utter shock on his face. "Those rat-bastards! They set this up! I knew it!" He kicked hard into the sand.
Oh, who the ******** cares. THere was a boat. "Hey.. hey don't go anywhere! I'm going to go get Ambrose! You have to save us!"

"Right-o, Aubrey!" Sabin called back as he was riding the elevator towards the ground floor.
Sabin was down by the jeeps as quickly as he could manage, already fumbling for the keys to have it ready to go by the time Aubrey got down.
He slid into the driver's seat, put the jeep into gear, and drove it around to the front of the facilities just as Aubrey came out of the door.
He leaned over and opened the door for her, as he spoke. "A young woman on a single-person boat - expensive by the looks of it - not one of the fishermen that we've seen sometimes. Huge telescopic lense - this isn't good - it looks like she came here purposely looking for something. Vasile's on the beach - so we may need to quickly difuse the situation."

Who was this Ambrose she wondered to herself as her mind skimmed for a Ambrose who might have been missing of late. She didn't reply to the actor as she thought, not even as he told her to stay. Well there was an Ambrose who was a hiker... but thats all she could think of, most of her non hollywood thoughts still back in the UK.

Aubrey took the seat next to Sabin. "Security's been alerted, but I told them to hold back unless things get messy. I'd like this to get smooth and quiet if possible."

Vasile was basically rocking on the balls of his feet. "Please stay, I'll be RIGHT BACK!" Vasile turned tail and hit a dead run back towards the village.

Sabin nodded to Aubrey. "Agreed - we'll get the offshore unit here as soon as we get her away from the boat, though. Can't leave that lying around." Sabin chuckled and sped towards the beach, taking the turns quickly and sharply.
A relieved smile hit his face as they approached and saw the young woman by herself. This might very well go smoother than he had hoped.
He hopped out of the jeep as they arrived and put on a friendly smile, hoping to find out as much as possible what she knew or assumed before saying too much. At least she had run into Vasile... and she was here for a reason. Now to get her out of here quickly...
"So you found us!" Sabin grinned, acting as if he had been expecting this to happen eventually. He extended a hand. "My name's Sabin. How'd you do it?"

Aubrey followed Sabin out of the vehicle, but stayed behind and let him do the talking. He was more charismatic than she was. So she just stayed back and gave a friendly smile.

Joliette was snapped from her thoughts by a new voice "Found you, well yes I have. As for how.. I keep my journalist rights to keep that to myself!" she called back sounding a lil smug as her british accent spoke her responce, truth be told it was only rumors and a hunch of her own but she had no intention of letting ANYONE not even her editor know that. She took in the apperance of the man and the jeep and... another person... ohh this could be good, her camera still focused on the beach she pressed the button in her hand snapping off a few more photos.

Sabin eyed the camera warily, instinctively lifting a hand to shield himself from it. As per his usual when he didn't have any particular reason to dress differently, Sabin was wearing loud, clashing touristy tropical clothing, his white hair messily tied back into a ponytail.
She was a journalist then.... but following on what hints, praytell... Sabin thought to Vasile's meeting with her. Sabin was well aware of the cover that they were spreading shoreside as to his disappearance. She would be more anxious, he pondered, and less friendly if she knew the true nature of the facilities and likewise how well guarded it was. "Clever... clever" He mused. "Well, we've got a big project going on as I'm sure you can imagine.... Vasile's been wonderful. So... the journalists heard first, eh?" He fished. "Well... how about this.. why don't you follow us back to the facilities... and we'll talk about an exclusive. Sign some paperwork as far as release information. This can be big." HE grinned.
