(I finally actually looked at the site for myself. xp )
That is just messed up. That one person said something vaguely Pro-Life-ish, though not actually Pro-life since they were for abortion in instances where the mother used contraception, and -everyone piled on-. That is simply disgusting.
They aren't just left-oriented, they are left-wing-tip nutjobs! "Buy nothing day"?? What the hell? Grow up! We all have to buy things to survive, it's not like our culture can survive going back to the old times where we all farmed our own food and hunt for our own meat! Yes, big corporations tend to make it hard for the little guy; But it's their constitutional right to make money in the way that they do!
Consumerism... Yes, we are all consumers, but so what? If you are going to go against "consumerism", the only really logical way to do it is to swear off things from corporations. So... You're clothes, your bed, your house, anything you didn't make, kill, or raise with your own two hands, you have to throw out.
Sorry for ranting about something only vaguely related to abortion. sweatdrop

Well one girl said;Quote: I find nothing wrong with her post nor with here poem. And yes eve this is a place where females come to talk about abortions but it is also a place were we talk about pregnancy and birth and misscarriages... we talk about everything here... nothin' about the poem had any hidden meanings or could be taken in any negative manner... i think is was a heathy way of her expressing her emotions about her pregnancy and futher more: to each thier own a fetus or a baby it is all how the indivdual sees it... just because you would be comforatable with saying fetus doesn't mean another person woud not to mention in the end this is HER poem about HER pregnancy! so ease up a lil bit, this is not a policitcal debate Which I was very happy with. I'm glad to see that some people will stick up for others, even if they're in the minority.

I was going to skim this topic and make no comment because it's just a bunch of us bitching over a problem and making no difference... but then I went to the site and god damn that pisses me off!!! They told off blueboymomma just because she said that she doesn't believe in having abortions all the time. It was still a pro-choice comment but she thought that it was best to limit the number of times you allow yourself to kill your child. These people bit right into her! mission statement of girl-mom.com We encourage all young mothers to speak loudly and boldly of their experiences and choices, in the hope that young women of future generations will feel more secure in doing the same. They seem to be confused about their own beliefs. mission statement of girl-mom.com We at GirlMom also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) And that's just not cool. Make fun of the mission statement with me. smile Girl-mom.com Mission Statement.I'm Liberal but god damn these people are crazy. sweatdrop

Quote: We encourage debate when it is employed in an effort to open our minds and broaden our horizons. We discourage debate when it silences or tramples over the voices of mothers trying to garner support and advice. Suuuure.

Quote: We are actively working towards creating an equal society, in which the right to bear or to delay bearing children is secured for all and all children are allowed to right to excel and thrive. Not only is that improper grammar (I think they meant "all children are allowed the right to excel and thrive") but it also contradicts its self. If all children should be allowed to excel and thrive then why aren't we allowed to discuss not killing them? Quote: We support lesbian, queer, bi, trans, and poly mamas and feel that no one should ever have to justify or explain their sexual identity and practices. This one just confused me. Did they really need to put queer as well? They already have bisexual and transexual, what they hell do they mean by polysexual then? What's next, pansexual mamas? The ones that love their children in all the wrong ways? talk2hand Quote: We encourage mothers to continue their educations and earn higher degrees. At the same time, we encourage mothers to make choices for themselves and reject the system that exploits them. We allow mothers the opportunity to express their opinions, experiences, stories and advice in a safe environment. HA!

Pyrotechnic Oracle Eve And that's well and good HOWEVER posting something that personifies a fetus is really unacceptable in a place where women come to talk about their expieirences with abortion. I think some one needs to popst the definition of what a child is and what the word child means... I was under the impression that this was a site for moms. I guess mothers-to-be don't count? Because there are no mothers-to-be? Why is this site trying to tell a bunch of women that their children weren't babies until they were born? Essentially, if it's not a baby, you're not pregnant. So how the hell is saying that a fetus isn't a baby SENSITIVE to women who are pregnant and feel that their unborn ARE babies?
