He sent Okassis a smile that defied all logic when it looked as if the other boy was ready to 'teach him a lesson', or something along those lines. But he was filled with confidence that he was in the midst of a bunch of wherries who'd run in the other direction before stepping up to the challenge of an argument, and that was without Miith trying to be intimidating to get the 'girl' out of her presence. He tucked a strand of black hair behind his ear, snickering at the smile Kyllae give him, if only because it signified that she was wherrying out on him. But, he hadn't supposed she was the type of girl to defend herself. Perhaps she'd get all those boys she flirted with to defend her instead, but only a weak girl hid behind the power of men.
He glanced to Kyllae, silently considering that train of thought...
Yes, she was definitely a weak girl. He'd be surprised if she made it anywhere in the Weyr, and even more surprised if she could return to her life as it was before she left them all behind on a fleeting hope. E'si couldn't understand it, if only because he had left the Harper Hall because he was through with it. He wasn't ditching one dream in hopes of another. He was escaping from one life and moving to the next. He had made no sacrifices by coming to the Weyr, and had only gained from the move. One glance at Miith was enough to ascertain that.
"Ah, I see," he replied lightly to S'van, though the boy's marketing skills were more than a little lacking. He would be nice, though, at least to the extent that he was capable of being nice. "I'll take one for an eighth mark at the most." Since Okassis was clearly the trader here, he kept his attention focused on S'van. He'd have more success that way. "You know, maybe taking some of your lice cure and walking around with it will help attract more people..." Of course, they had set up in a pretty busy spot, but he was offering S'van a chance to run away from the menace that encompassed Kyllae.
You caaaan trumpet at her! Maybe that'll scare her off!

For a moment, Okassis wickedly considered mentioning to S'van about Kyllae's other scar, the one she hadn't let him see yet - but, with good wisdom, decided to keep his mouth shut. There was no need to be so crass in front of the lady, after all. He'd have plenty of time to fill in his friend on all the details he'd learned about the Dolphineer girl later, in better privacy.
Okassis exchanged Kyllae's payment for the goods with a seasoned trader's swiftness and alacrity, counting out the coins even as he gathered together the purchase (not that he thought Kyllae would try to scam him, of course, but good business sense was just good business sense!) The coins disappeared, even as he wrapped up the three doses and offered the package out.
"Just soak for a candlemark, and wash it out. Your head won't itch, the bugs'll be gone, and it'll leave your hair smelling good besides," Okassis promised her - then, with a grin, added cheesily, "not that you need that last bit, of course." It was probably just as well that E'si was clamoring for S'van's attention, or his friend would doubtlessly have been obligated to groan; at least that was one thing that the greenrider could do right!

((I'm so tempted to drag a Lice-headed T'ka in here, with grumpy Haanyath to boot. As if poor Mith needs any other reason to be upset xD))
Kyllae held up one of the bags to her face, inhaling deeply. Oh man did the stuff smell good. She had actually been thinking about using it as a perfume even when Okassis mentioned how it would make her smell. She grinned slyly at him. It seemed he didn't need to be wet with alcohol to be flirty. How fun. She had a feeling the other two boys here wouldn't be comfortable if she started flirting it up though, so she made a not to save it for later.
"How long does it hold?" she asked. For, if she didn't get lice, she knew just what she would use it for. Whenever she or Okassis impressed, and they went to that place he had mentioned at the feast. Where his sister thought dragons came from...their little 'date' as he had put it. She would use this then, if it lasted long enough. If not...she would try and find out some of the ingredients. Just what made it smell so good, so she would know how to make her hair smell sweet. The little touches were oh so important. Although considering they'd both had quite a bit to drink, it was possible he didn't even remember making that deal.
If nothing else, the Weyr had at least made Kyllae a little more passive in terms of physical violence. Getting in a few rumbles, and hence assigned extra chores, had quickly made that option...less than desirable. She wasn't terribly quick to anger, and even when she was worked up, it didn't take her much to calm her down, but when it came down to it, she was a pretty mean fighter. Being in Souther taught you a few things. Some people could draw. Some people were good at making money. Some people were good at making friends. Kyllae was good at flirting, and hitting. She had a story or two about wrestling Haanyath even! When the irritable green was smaller, of course. And that reminded her!
Turning to Okassis quickly, smiling, "I don't suppose I told you about the time I fought off a half dozen tunnel snakes with only a kitchen knife?" Why, that story was even better than her watersnake one! Though the scars weren't as bad or as interesting. Two diagonal slash marks a few inches above her naval. She would have shown him then, though again, showing any more skin might cause his friends' heads to explode. They looked uncomfortable with her already.
