"Whassa clam?" the boy inquired. He'd heard clams mentioned as food but other than that, the toddler wasn't that experienced on the matter. Idly, he kicked a little at the sand, dislodging a slightly larger shell. Bending forward he picked it up to show Bovi. "Here's another."

"Clam is a water animal that lives in a shell," Bovi explained. "I'm not sure what kind of animal though...I don't know much else about them, other then my mom doesn't like to eat them that much..."
Peering at the newest find, Bovi smiled. "That one's neat!" he said with a laugh. Taking Shylock's lead, Bovi dug his hoof into the ground and pushed away some of the sand. There were little pieces of shells, but they weren't big enough to do anything with.
"Hmm..." he pondered to himself, wondering where a better place would be to look.

Shylock blinked a bit, "Ah. My Dad kind of likes them and they taste okay to me." he commented with a shrug. Would just have to ask Papa about them later.
The boy gave the ground a bit of a distasteful look. "There are better shells and less butts over there." he said pointing to where he'd been sitting before. He hadn't been looking for the shells but the tot had come across a couple without meaning to while playing with the sand.

Bovi shrugged with a small sigh. "Never tried them myself, seeing as mom doesn't like them. Maybe I'll order some somewhere later on down the line," he said. He watched to where Shy pointed and gave a nod.
"Ok then, let's try there!"

The younger boy led the way over to where he'd been sitting and plopped down, moving his hand in the sand again till he felt it brush over the edge of a shell. pulling it out, he showed it to the older pride boy. "Here's one."

Bovi looked at it and clapped before dipping down to get a closer look at the sand.
"You're right Shylock, there are more shells here then where we were before," he said before pulling up two more shells, making sure that Shylock could get a peek at them before going back to look for more.

Bovidae did the same thing, gathering up shells and placing them in a pile. After a few minutes of this, he looked to Shylock with a grin.
"Do you like making sandcastles Shy? These shells would make fun decorations for one," he mused, hoping that the boy would join him in his arcitechual escapade.

The brown skinned boy shook his head. "I've never made one before." he explained. His Papa had said once he'd teach him but his Papa hadn't been able to come along this time, being a little busy getting checkups and whatnot to make sure the baby was all right.

"You haven't?" Bovi asked, tilting his head at the thought. He then smiled again.
"Well then, do you want to help me make one?" he asked. This wouldn't have been the first time that he taught someone how to make one, though the last time it was just decorating a sand blob that was molded by a pail. He had gotten a bit better then that since then, and he was more then willing to pass on his knowledge to other kids.

"All right." the smaller boy agreed. "That sounds like fun." Or well, more fun than sitting around looking for shells was. Though still, the boy couldn't help the nagging feeling at the back of his mind that he'd rather be doing this with his Papa. Oh well. He could do it with him later.

"All right then"" Bovi said with a giggle. "I'll go grab my bucket and stuff. I'll be right back." With that he bolted off, and was back in just a few moments.
"Ok, first we need sand first. I learned that making a big pile of sand and making it wet is easier then doing it bucket by bucket. You want to take this bucket and fill it up with water, or would you rather start making the pile of sand?" he asked.
