Finished with the organization of her room, Kora felt right at home. She smiled, looking around her room. Looking ontop of a small table she had in her room, she'd discovered a piece of paper she hadn't noticed before. "Whats this?" Unfolding it, she discovered that it was a map of the whole school and the grounds. There were many classrooms and science rooms along with music rooms, a gym, basketball courts outside of the school, the lunchroom, and many other rooms that she did not recognize. She looked over to the small alarm clock that was on her nightstand. It read 4:56. "Oh, crap!" Kora exclaimed, now running through the door and preparing to run down the hall.
Running in the hall, there was someone else who was in her path as she ran. "Watch-!" she said, but it was to late. Kora ran right through the girl. "-out...." She looked over to the girl, waiting for the screaming and staring as she blushed.

Glitch spun round as she heard someone yell out "watch" She saw the girl was impossibly close, too close for glitch to get out of the way so instinctively she braced herself for impact and scrunched up her eyes.
A second or two later it became apparant that the impact hadn't happened and glitch opened her eyes. The girl was gone, but as glitch swivelled round she saw the girl was now on the other side of her, as if glitch hadt even been there.
"Whoa? How'd you do that. I thought that was gonna hurt for sure"
Perhaps this girl was a mutant too, maybe she could walk through walls. Glitch had always wondered what that'd be like. She looked at the girl with a mixture of suspicsion, surprise and awe. She was the only kid glitch had seen so far.

"Well, I can... phase through objects, to put it simple. I can do other things, too." Kora said, glad that the girl didn't run away in fear. In fact, she looked curious. Kora scratched her head nervously. "Yeah, I'm a freak." she laughed. This was the first person she'd met here besides the principle and the gym teacher.
Strangely, she was willing to continue this conversation. "I'm Kora. You are?" Kora asked, curious about this girl.

 Glitch grinned at Kora
"Me, well I guess my real names saffron, but i've kinda taken a liking to Glitch, you know what with super powers and all I guessed a girls gotta have a kooky name. oh and im a freak too. I think, and this is just a hunch of course, but i'm guessing this school is gonna be filled with kids like us eventually"
Glitch looked at her watch and realised the time with widened eyes.
"Are you heading to the main hall for that orientation assembly? Cause we might be late if we dont get a move on?"
Glitch realised she hadnt told Kora about her powers but she was still half figguring them out so wasnt entirely sure what it was she could do anyway.

It was fast approaching dusk when Chaos entered the school. his dark eyes scanned the corridors looking for signs of life. All his belongings lay in the holdall he carried. Everything that he owned, in one small bag, which wasnt even full to capacity.
He had woken up two days ago with no recollection of who he was. Only reading the letter in his hand did he assume that the person addressed in the letter, someone by the name of Chaos, was him. It felt right. It felt familiar.
The letter had been inviting him here. To this school, saying he'd been given a place here. With no place left to go, Chaos felt it a wise starting point to piecing back together his life. There had to be clues as to who he was, out there somewhere. Where to start looking was the tricky part.
He saw two teenage girls up ahead in the corridor and he walked up to them.
"Hi. Do you know where i'm supposed to go? I've just arrived and dont know where im supposed to be going"
He grinned at them boyishly, his eyes sparkled mischieviously.

Kora was about to respond when a boy came towards them asking for directions. He stared at them with those sparkling and mischievous eyes a child gets when he's found something to good to be true. She nearly rolled her eyes, but restrained for the sake of not gaining an enemy. "Yeah, we're heading to the Assembly Hall." she said in a teasing way. "And you should as well."
Kora was never very fond of boys who were not in her family. In elementary school and middle school, that was the gender that teased and beat up Kora the most, although the other girls helped as well. She gestured towards Glitch to follow her as Kora began to walk down the hall, passing by the boy as if he were nothing more than an imaginary being.

Glitch smiled at the boy and listened to Koras response. She nodded then added.
"its the induction assembly, where we all get told the rules I guess, and whats expected of us and blah blah blah. I must admit im actually curious whats gonna happen around here. Oh im Glitch by the way, and thats Kora"
Glitch said pointing at Kora who was leading the way to the assembly

If Kora was trying to put Chaos off of her, it worked a charm. Simply her tone of voice just seemed to scream at him to back off. Perhaps the kid had problems? Chaos didn't know, nor did he care. Life was too short to get caught up in peoples personal issues. He watched kora walk past and raised an eyebrow. Still she was pretty cute, even if she was a little snotty.
The girl identified as Glitch seemed a bit more friendly. It appeared that the two girls were both new students too, so at least Chaos didnt feel completely out of place. He followed their lead and headed with them to the large assembly hall.
"I'm Chaos." He said lamely, realising there wasnt much else he could tell them, because he didnt really know anything else himself, other than his power, which would properly activate when the sun went down.

The boy identified himself as Chaos, but Kora didn't care to much as she walked down the hall. Oh, if only she had brought her iPod; she would have something to take her mind off of the world around her. At least she knew every one of the songs by heart. She 'played' them in her head as best to her memory. Kora occasionally looked behind her to look and see if Glitch and Chaos were following her.

 Dr essex paced the backstage area of the assembly stage feeling a mixture of nervousness and anger. So many things to do, so many things to remember and so very little time. The children wouldn't be ready. There was nothing he could do to prepare them for the assignments he needed to issue. They probably had two or three weeks max before they would have to go out on assignment.
Would it be possible to polish the students to a level where they might actually survive the tasks that lay ahead? He had no way of properly knowing. Sure he had time travelled to the future, but he had seen many possible outcomes to what lay in store He couldnt tell which way things were going to unfold and that uncertainty infuriated him.
He watched as the students arrived. Only 3 had gotten to the school in time for the induction assembly. He knew of at least 2 more students that would arrive in their own time. In each of the futures he had travelled to, the students already in the hall and the two still to arrive played vital roles. So he knew they would arrive when the time was right.
He waited for the children to take their seats.

Chaos by name  * * * CHAOS * * * Chaos followed the others into the main assembly hall. It was quite large and impressive. Dimly lit though, he noted. A quickening in his heart meant he knew what time it was. Quickly he side stepped the two girls so as to not hurt them. He pulled off his jacket and his shirt urgently so he was topless.
He didnt have chance to explain to the girls that he wasn't a pervert as there was a sudden ripping noise. Grunting he collapsed to his knees as large bat like wings suddenly sprouted from his shoulderblades, tearing through his skin and bones. It was uncomfortable but it didn't hurt, as if his body had prepared for this to happen and so had dulled his nerve endings. It happened every night. He looked at the two girls apologetically then took his place in the assembly audience Chaos by Nature

Glitch had subconsciously taken a step backwards when chaos had first shrugged off his upper clothing and then further so when wings suddenly sprouted fron his back.
"Whoa!"
Her eyes widened in shock. She looked at the leathery blackness that were his wings. She felt sorry for chaos. If this was what he had to endure as part of his mutation then life must have been very difficult for him. At least her powers let her lead a pretty normal life. She looked normal so she could fit in.
She continued to stare in morbid fascination at his new limbs as she sat down waiting for the assembly to begin.

Kora was preparing to push him away with her powers when he removed his shirt, but understood why he had done so. Large, black wings had sprouted from his back. Glitch was in complete awe as she gave a 'woah' of astonishment. Kora simply looked at Chaos for a moment, turning away a moment later and finding a seat in the second row. Poor guy. The small folding chair made a small creak as she sat down onto the leathery cushion.

Dr essex strode full of purpose out onto the stage. The large hall was mostly filled with empty seats. But the first couple of rows had those that had already arrived seated there.
"Students... and faculty staff, It gives me great pride to welcome you to this school. Whilst we are few in number currently, I have no doubt that we shall grow and become one big family. Familys protect one another, look out for one another, and that is how I hope in the weeks months and years to come you will view your fellow students and teachers."
He paused for breathe looking from one student to the next, knowing what he was about to say.
" As you are no doubt aware all of us here, every single person under this schools roof has unique abilities. Some have more control than others and hopefully as the year progresses students and teachers alike will grow stronger and learn more from their powers. To do that we need to go out on the field and do missions, some harder than others, but for that we need a level of command.
In three days time we shall be holding auditions for a team leader. This will be in the form of a contest to be held at 3pm in the basketball courts outside. People who wish to participate can do so simply by turning up and registering at the event. I would request that every single person signs up, you may feel your power is worthless or that you dont have leadership skills, but at the end team leader needs more than flashy powers and a loud voice, They need to be planners, thinkers and compassionate.
Classes will commence the morning after the contest, you have three days to practice any skills you think may be helpfull. I shall not say what the contest comprises for I would like to see how contestants think on their feet.
Are there any questions?"
Dr Essex scanned the meagre crowd. Wondering if anyone had anything they needed to ask

Chaos listened to the man he assumed to be the headmaster of the school. He looked quite powerful and determined. Chaos cocked his head to one side and squinted as he listened. he had folded his wings so that they wrapped around him like a cloak, simply because being topless in this draughty hall was a little on the cold side.
He wanted to ask The principal what sort of contest would it be but it sounded like the teacher wasn't going to be dishing out that information. Chaos folded his arms and leaned back in the chair a little and thought for a moment. What the principal seemed to be looking for was, raw natural talent, to expect anything more than that in three days worth of preperation was ludicrous. Chaos didnt understand the urgency of picking a team leader. But he wasn't the one running the school so he didn't much care one way or the other.
