Atia smiled as he nuzzled into her, lifting her paw and setting it on his shoulder in a kind of hug. Oh, this was just too rich, and she had to roll her eyes when he wasn't looking directly at her. Rich, but perfect. Amazing how easy it was to make everything go according to plan. Maybe she'd just ask if he wanted her to adopt him and be done with it. But not now. She had much better plans... but now he was in her pocket. Now she could control him.
And, to be fair, it wasn't like he wouldn't get anything out of it. She would make him the best, and the most powerful warrior that they had to offer, if she had any say in the matter. She would make him as trusted by Caesar as she was... but someone who would promote her best interests no matter what. After all, he had promised to keep her safe no matter what, hadn't he?
And she would train him... every day if she had to. Because all this would only be worth it if he kept up the good work and did everything he told her to do. Anything less than perfection would be unacceptable. Then she would have an ideal male protector for her family... someone who's loyalty to the pride never wavered, who would support her through thick and thin... and the likely rough times ahead.
Sometimes, she amazed even herself with her plans. And she was already thinking ahead... because she never really felt safe unless she had twenty different ways of making things work to her advantage. This had come out of the blue... but she would make it work. She would have everything she wanted, even if she had to kill half the pride to do it.
"You're such a good boy Risasi... I only wish I'd had a son half as loyal and strong as you are." She whispered in his ear, "Now... run off, enjoy yourself. Come and see me tomorrow, if you find the time. I'll be happy to give you advice and help you train. And thank you so much for coming to me again... You don't know how much your company means to this old leopard." And he likely never would.

Risasi smiled at her, shaking his head and laughing, the little boy once more. He didn't think he was that good a kid, but he certainly tried. Feeling resolute and confident, strong and proud, he nodded and backed away, lowering his head again when her quiet words hit him. He felt something stir in him, something he hadn't thought he'd miss. His parents. Making them proud.
Drawing a deep breath, he looked up at her with his deep, forest green eyes and nodded before turning and padding off, looking back to make sure she was going back into the cave to rest. He worried about how tired she looked. Maybe by tomorrow she'd be healthier. He was really excited about training under her guidance.
He needed to be stronger, for her and for his Caesar. Not just in body, but character. She told him he was loyal and strong, but he wanted to feel like he earned those words, and they weren't just gifts from her. He would do that, no matter what.
Nodding to himself, he turned and jogged off, not wanting to let his energy go to waste.
