Rei's awake! Rei's awake! That was all the wolf could think about. At that moment, none of the little things mattered. She was more than happy to hear Rei's request and carry it out. So she vaulted off the bed and bolted to the door, rising onto her hind legs to unlock and open it, and then bolting off.
"A-li-hi!" the wolf barked as she barrelled down hallways. "A-LI-HI! A-LI-HI!"

Hearing her name shouted (barked?) startled Alihi, waking her up a bit and causing her to glance at her daughter once more. Satisfied that the child was still asleep, she moved out of the room and closed the door behind her. She looked up and down the hall before she finally spotted who was searching for her. The tactician blinked and stared at Ed. "You called...?"

Amelia shifted against Rhys' chest as she felt his body move, able to feel it with her own resting comfortably against his side, eyes still closed. Sleep wasn't as thick as she had thought, apparently; just that slight movement was enough to wake her up. This was Rhys, though, she supposed, and she sometimes had difficulty sleeping when people moved her at all...
Her eyelids flickered, and she tilted her head up a little. It was right about when she started to open her mouth, intending to ask him when he'd woken up, when he spoke. It was very quiet, nearly a whisper, but it was clearly audible in the otherwise-silent room, just a little statement that nearly made her head spin.
"I want Amelia to be my wife."
Amelia stared, green eyes widening slowly. It seemed unreal; as much as she'd hoped, she hadn't exactly expected him to say something like that. That made sense, right? To not assume it would happen, but hope anyway. Something fluttered deep in her chest, moving from her ribcage, to a region a little south of her bellybutton, then back up to her throat.
She shifted a little, moving her arms to the other side of Rhys' body in order to prop herself up over him, the moonlight filtering onto the side of her face, giving her golden-blonde hair an almost-glow. "Well, I... want Rhys to be my husband," she finally answered, her voice a low whisper before she leaned down and kissed him, eyes closing.

The wolf sprinted up to Alihi, almost literally scrabbling up the tactician, tail wagging furiously.
"Rei," she panted, tongue hanging loosely out of her grinning maw. "Rei. Rei. See Rei."
She dropped down, jogging off back the way she came.

Alihi just blinked, remaining still for a second before following Ed. ... Rei? Why does Rei want to see me? She shook her head, nearly losing Ed in the process. But she managed to still keep the wolf in her sights.
... Ah, whatever.

Ed wound hurriedly through hallways and corridors, stopping at every several paces and glancing over her shoulder to make sure Alihi was catching up. She seemed exuberant although the reason wasn't altogether clear as to why. Ed herself didn't know, and she didn't know why Rei wanted to see Alihi either, she was just glad he was okay.
The wolf was soon at his door. She had taken care to remember which door it was, and besides that, her nose helped her to affirm it anyway. She pulled herself up to the doorknob and turned it, using her weight to push into Rei's room. Ed trotted into the room and put her paws onto Rei's bed. She licked his hand once more, attempting to tell him that Alihi was present.

Rhys' eyes widened for a second in surprise. Did-did she just say "Yes"? That IS a "yes", right? I, I, I did it! Ohhhh, yeeeahh! Score!
He didn't get to think much further than beyond that as she leaned down to kiss him. In the moonlight, her hair struck JUST RIGHT... She looks radiant tonight... sometimes, she just did things perfectly right.
He responded by putting his arms around her waist. The kiss deepened as he moved back, their passion reminiscent of the Christmas party when they'd first done this sort of thing.
...And perhaps a few times in between then and now. What, did you expect they only did stuff whenever evil was afoot, just to rub it in evil's face that they were still, as they say, "having fun"? No, Rhys believed the time had come. He'd come to Learania looking for--well, for exactly this reason. Yeah, maybe it was selfish, not to mention not very sensible. But the gamble had paid off, and then some in his book--Amelia was definitely the woman he loved.
...You still need to find a ring, you know.
Shut up, IQ.

Rei smiled at the barking dog's rush off into the hallway, and then instantly come back, and begin licking his hand. Full of energy. That's good... As he heard footsteps coming towards the room, his muscles relaxed as he looked towards the door, smile still on his face. His grip loosened, his eyes closing as he took a slow, deep breath. As a pale light washed over the boy...
His appearance changed. His hair became long and red, his body matured to that of an adult. His clothes changed from green and purple robes to black, white and gold noble's clothes. As the man slowly sat up, he reached a hand out to Ed, petting her behind the ears.
"Good girl! Thanks so much, buddy!" As he scratched behind the dog's ears, he glanced back up at the door, waiting for the tactician to enter. Time was of the essence, and every moment was a moment wasted.

Alihi peeked her head into the room, not really sure what to expect.
To see Zelos there... well, it shouldn't have surprised her, really, but it did. Still, she entered the room, each step bringing her closer and closer to Zelos' side. Step. Step. Step. "You... you wanted to see me? Or was it Rei who wanted to?" She asked him softly, afraid to speak much louder so that she wouldn't disturb anyone's sleep with her voice.

"Which of us...?" He struggled to talk, exhaustion setting into his voice. "Well, that'd be me. I just had the kid get you in here." As he started to stand from the bed, he quickly shook and fell back down.
"Urgh, sorry about that. The both of us are about done." He got a comfortable seat on the bed, making sure that he'd be on the edge, but still be supported. "Y'know that Asami thing that attacked, right?" He clutched his left arm, as if he'd been severely injured. "...Yeah, like how she corrupted the kid and all that...?" The pain subsided, and the arm was pulled away. "It took everything that the both of us had to get that damn thing out. And now we're both facing the repercussions of it." He reached a hand out to Alihi, as if beckoning her over. "A body is only meant to hold one soul, not three. So the body is adjusting to that dark side... both its appearance and its purging, and it's not pretty."

"Don't worry about it..." Alihi mumbled when Zelos apologized. Really, there was no reason for him to apologize; he was tired and weak at the moment because he'd just been through a lot. It wasn't anything to be sorry about.
The tactician stood silently and eventually approached him when he held his hand out to her. She stood next to him, not sitting down until either he told her to sit down or her feet started to hurt. "... So, what does this all mean, Zelos?" She asked, staring down at him. "Why are you telling me this?"

"What it means is..." He looked up at her, cracking a smile. "Geez, I thought that that tactician would be able to figure this out..." He shook his head, losing his comedic demeanor. "It means that the fight for control ravaged the kid's mind. He could already barely take the mental balance, and this just shook the scales."
A grim look came across his face, devoid of any lighthearted joking. "It's as possible that his mind would collapse as it is that everything would go back to how it was." He stopped talking to let it all sink into Alihi's head, waiting for a reaction.

"... W... what?" Alihi was stunned. Back to the way it was? What did he--
And then it hit her. He might disappear completely? She trembled slightly. "I..." Her eyes closed. "I... I don't know what to say..." She shook her head. "Y-you can't go... you can't..." Though the tactician would hate to admit it, she really, really cared for Zelos and really didn't mind being around him. Sure, him calling her a princess irritated her, but she could deal with it. He was so odd and so caring... Alihi didn't want to lose him, either.
Her eyes reopened and she bit her bottom lip lightly. "... I don't want you to go..." She whispered softly, her voice refusing to be much louder.

Zelos laughed, seeing Alihi's reluctance to see him go from miles away. "Yeah, you'll be so lost without good old Zelos, huh?" He reached over, grabbing her lightly by the hand. "You'll do fine without me. And besides, the kid doesn't need this whole 'vying for control' thing, even if we are on good terms." He looked down at Ed, giving her another scratch behind the ears. "But, y'never know, Alihi, I might not be gone for good." He gave her a wink as he focused his energy in his hand.
A small orb of light appeared in the hands, forming into Zelos's rapier as the hands separated. "A little something to remember me by."

Alihi didn't even bother to resist him holding her hand now. At the moment, his words were much more important than a simple hand-to-hand contact. She nodded slightly. Might as well keep hope, right?
She stared blankly at the rapier that formed. So, he was going to go, huh? She shook her head. "I... I couldn't..." Her eyes were locked on the rapier, though. If he was really going to go... might as well take it, right? Her hand wrapped around the hilt of the rapier and she held it up, staring at her partial reflection. "... Thank you."
She sighed lightly. "... But why me?" She looked down at Zelos. "You've always seemed to give me special treatment... why? Why would you do that for me? What makes me different, so special, compared to everyone else?"
