_______________________________[How this all started]

Tyr, almost finished with Month 2, Day 26 of his life on Gaia, was eagerly headed home after job searching all day, and coming up with nothing. This land seemed a lot less strict on the whole money issue, but it would still be nice to put some of his own things in the loft he was given. The loft had all the basics sure, but it also needed food and some homey touches if he had no choice but to live on Gaia with his young charge Vaughan. So he'd been looking for a job for the past month...and so far, came up with nothing.

Like every walk home from town, Tyr passed by an old, rather intimidating Cemetary, and like every walk home, he sped his walk up to pass it faster. However, today seemed...different. There was a strange noise in the air, one that screamed of innocence and confusion. Well, one that screamed, anyway. The teenager paused in his hasty retreat, staring uneasily into the cemetary he'd grown to dislike more than any...and the long he listened to the wailing, the sooner it took him to realize that that sound was no animal; it was a child! A baby, by the sounds of it...! "What...What the hell is a BABY doing in the cemetary?!" He breathed out in disgust, forgetting his fear of the place and pushing open the rusted old gates, pushing himself past it and running towards the sound of the infant's crying.

By the time he found the shrieking infant, he was running out of breath...and upon seeing the infant, the rest of his breath was knocked out of him. There, infront of a blank tombstone, was a golden-haired, blue-eyed infant, stuck half way in the hard dirt, absolutely panicking, his face red from his crying, and big fat tears rolling down his chubby infant cheeks.

"OH MY GOD! D-Don't worry, I'll get you out!" He cried at the infant, who paused in his shrieking to stare bright-eyed at the teenager, sniffing at the odd time as the black-haired one started to claw at the dirt around him, trying to free him. "Almost there, don't worry! Don...t...? Wha...?" The teen stopped, staring at the infant's legs...of lack thereof. The boy just seemed to END at the waist! There was strange gray whisps instead of legs! With a cry, Tyr fell backwards, staring wide-eyed at the boy. "What the HELL are you?" In response, the infant started to cry again, scared of the teenager's outburst...and Tyr felt his heart break. Shuddering and not once looking at the infant's lack of legs, he crawled back to the toddler and took off his jacket, wrapping it around the naked thing. "Ack...Don't cry, I'm sorry, I'm so---ACK!" The teen then shrieked halfway through his sentence upon feeling something grab his ankle, and he instantly whirrled his head around to see what it was...

...And instantly wished he hadn't. There, grabbing his ankle, was a gray hand of an infant, a bleeding slash running across the back of the hand. "HOLY HELL~!" Tyr cried out, kicking the hand away from him and scrambling back farther, only to watch in horror the scene that would unfold.

The hand, now above the old and hard cemetary dirt, grabbed at the ground and seemed to push, to which a lump started to form on the ground itself next to the crying boy. Waving black tendrils started to poke out of the graveyard dirt, followed shortly by the single most scariest thing Tyr had seen in his entire life...

Out of the hard dirt crawled an infant, similar to the boy in the way that she had no legs. Infact...their whisps seemed to be connected at the end by a small, hurricane-looking twist. However, this girl was...different. Where his skin was golden, hers was gray, corpse-like...and where his hair was golden, hers was raven black, twisting and dancing around her as if she were always under the water, and while his skin was clear of blemishes (it was true he was the picture of perfection, minus the lack of legs), hers was mauled, covered in what appeared to be open, and constantly bleeding gashes.

The worst difference was, that while his eyes were the most prettiest of blues...hers were...missing. She had empty sockets where her eyes should have been, and the blood that seemed to endlessly cascade from them appeared to vanish after sliding down her chin.

Tyr felt his strength weaken, and before he knew it, his eyes had rolled into the back of his head, and he lapsed into the peaceful bliss that was unconsciousness.

Wonderful. Just wonderful.
I'm saddled with more kids...

When Tyr awoke, the creepy twins were there. When Tyr left, the creepy twins followed (or rather, the boy followed, the girl grudgingly tagged along). When Tyr tried to lock them out, the boy cried and cried until he got fed up and let the twins in. When Tyr went to bed the twins were still there, sleeping on eachother and on a blanket Vaughan put on the ground for them. When Tyr woke up they were still there, sleeping. Or at least he thought they were sleeping, it was hard to tell if the girl was sleeping or not.

So apparently he wasn't about to get rid of them. After trying to avoid them all day, he eventually gave up and let the boy hug his leg, nuzzling his knee happily. Luckily, the girl stayed out of arm's reach, just...staring at him. "Daaaaah!" The boy squealed, giving Tyr's legs a tighter hug with his chubby arms.

Great, Tyr thought, another kid calling me 'Dad'. However, after about two hours of arguing, Tyr figured it was useless and just accepted the fact these creepy torsos were his charges now as well. This also meant needing more food and blankets in the loft. Grudgingly, Tyr bent over to pick up the male, only to have his hand drift onto the outskirts of the gray whisps that connected the two.

Instantly, the girl twin let out an ear-piercing shriek, swiping her apparently clawed hand instinctively at Tyr, catching him square in the face. By the time she had retreated from shrieking to hissing and growling in anger, Tyr had dropped the male twin and had both hands to his cheek, trickles of blood sliding between his fingers. He stared at the girl in pure and utter shock, his cobalt eyes wide with a mixture of fear and panic.

She seemed smug with herself once she calmed down, but she received a stern glare from her conjoined twin. Shaking his head, the boy tugged Tyr down to him, and placed his chubby hand on Tyr's cheek, keeping it there for a moment. The teenager was hesitant to let the boy touch him, but a sudden burst of trust made him stay down, until the boy removed his hands. When he did, the sting of the wound was...gone. Slowly, he touched his fingers to his cheek, only to note that the bleeding had stopped. In fact...aside from little scabbed over scratch marks, he could barely feel it anymore! He stared at the twins in wonder...one able to maim, the other able to heal...

WHAT HAD HE GOTTEN HIMSELF INTO!?

"Kandajha." The boy finally stated, pointing at himself, and the pointing at the once more angry-looking female. "Serkan." Kandajha informed him with a grin, nodding only happily at the fact he was finally able to introduce himself to their new daddy and caretaker. Serkan stared at her twin, then turned her head to face Tyr, her pale lips slowly parting.

"Serkanda" The two said said in unison, Serkan starting and Kandajha finishing with a smile. Obviously, they had one name for the both of them! It only made sense, considering they were joined by smoke.

"...Tyr." He replied at length, pointing at himself.

He realized then and there that his life would be hell, and that the girl named Serkan would probably end it for him.

Interact with the Twins!
One is creepy, one is adorable

Tyr was well aware of someone watching him. He could feel a pair of eyes burning into his skull, trying to poke into his head. Naturally, the teenager ignored it, watching tv as if nothing was wrong with this situation. Maybe if he ignored them, the staring could stop, and he could go about his normal business...Unfortunately, he had no such luck.

Serkanda and Vaughan were playing on the floor somewhere near the tv. Rather...Kandajha and Vaughan were playing, amusing themselves with once identical building blocks that Tyr managed to buy for the three of them, and Kandajha's ever-present Kon Plushie sitting at his side, occasionally being made to play with the blocks as well, guided by a golden pair of chubby hands. Serkan, on the other hand, was completely ignoring the blocks she was given, though she gave them a curious poke when she first received them. If Tyr were to take notice, he would see there were something different about the blocks that Serkan touched...they seemed duller, less lively in colour than the ones Kandajha was playing with. It seemed she'd long given up playing with the blocks she was given...

...And just stared at Tyr. Lord knows how long she'd sat there, hovering about six imches off the ground, and just...stared. She didn't move physically, she never blinked even once since she faced him, and the only thing that did move on her was her strangely well-kept mane of black hair, the blood that trailed from her ever-bleeding eyes, and the water-like shift of the gray whisps under her torso. Occasionally her black hair would cover her face, giving Tyr a fleeing moment of relief from that penetrating gaze.

The longer Tyr ignored her, the longer she stared, and eventually, the words of a friend filled his mind "Accepting new surroundings is easier than denying they exsist, Tyr". Pales had told him that once, and grudgingly, Tyr took them to be the truth. Sighing heavily, he turned off the TV and moved onto the floor, sitting closer to Kandajha than Serkan, for obvious reasons. As he moved, so too did Serkan's stare...the teenager would never have a moment of relief from her, it seemed.

Kandajha, finally noticing that Tyr was near him, have a squeal of glee and pat Tyr's leg for his attention, then pointed at the blocks around him. "Da bil! Andee bil! 'Awn bil! Erka no bil, erka s'air." He delighted in pointing out that Tyr should build with him since he was building and Vaughan was building, and he also took joy in pointing out that Serkan wasn't touching her blocks, but was staring at him.

"I see that uh...Andy. Serkan...why don't you play with u--er, Andy?" HE certainly didn't want to play with her. Not since she scratched him. NOW he noticed that her blocks, though hers were identical to Andy's when he bought them, looked less vibrant and more worn. He gave them a look of disgust and fear, then looked over at Andy's blocks, which had considerably gotten brighter. The only block set that seemed right in colour were Vaughan's!

Serkan didn't answer his question, and Kandajha and Vaughan gave a twin set of shrugs to the teenager, Andy giving his twin a curious look while Vaughan gave her an uneasy look, which the girl ignored to continue staring at her keeper. Then, after what seemed like forever, she reached out with one gray, slashed hand, and pressed the tip of her finger against Tyr's skin, her mouth contorting to give her an experimental look.

The second her finger touched his bare skin, Tyr's mind exploded with pain. Not pain of being hurt...but the pain of being cold. Deathly cold. In that same instant, Tyr lost all hope in life, his heart sinking in misery. Her touch was like death, and the invisible entity wrapped around Tyr's form, threateneing to devour him in pain and sorrow. While this was going on inside his mind, his body convulsed with shock once, though for some reason, he couldn't take his arm away from under Serkan's small finger.

Her lips contorted once more to give her a slightly pleased, if not maleviolent look, she she withdrew her finger from Tyr's skin, her head tilting down as if to examine what she'd done.

Freed from her icey death touch, his mind instantly cleared, though reminants of the chill remained on the corners of his mind. Gaping in horror, he stared down at her as she examined his arm, a short gurgle rising his his throat once he too noticed what she seemed to be looking at...a patch of His skin had turned gray! As he watched, the corpse-like patch of flesh faded away, leaving his normal skin tone in its wake, as if nothing ever happened.

Before he could stop her, Serkan was darting out her small hand again, poking against his clothed shoulder. Upon getting no response but a horrified gape, she looked almost disappointed and slipped back to her blocks, seemingly content in what she'd learned today. The girl murmured something to herself, and stared at her open palm.

So in shock was Tyr that he didn't notice Kandajha climb onto his lap. If he had, he would have stopped the male twin from touching him, figuring his touch would be as cold as Serkan's...However, he was sorely mistaken. By the time he realized where Andy was, the boy had just placed one of his chubby hands on Tyr's arm.

Unlike when Serkan touched him, Tyr's mind instantly relaxed, feeling very much like he was sunbathing in a tropical place. While the girl's touch had hurt him, the boy's put him in a sense of euphoria, and he felt warm and safe, away from any dangers of the world. When Andy pulled away, Tyr found that the sensation went away, and he grumbled in disappointment...

"DA!" Andy called out suddenly, happily, and threw his arms around the teenager's stomach, unable to do anymore. The boy nuzzled his keeper's chest happily, and even went as far as to purr softly in affection. Tyr, thoroughly confused, returned the hug the boy gave him, his cobalt gaze moving over towards the girl twin...

Right then and there, Tyr vowed to never, ever wear t-shirts or short sleeves again.

Confused Ramblings

W . T . F .
November 5th, 2005

Hello.

I decided to keep a journal. You know, incase I die or something...just like in the video games. If people want to know what happened to me before I died, they could just wander the house and pick up scraps of my journal. I'm pretty sure thats how it works, and I doubt the video games lie, since it happens so often in so many different games.

In any event, my life has been a living hell since August. First, I end up on Gaia for good. Second, I'm suddenly saddled with a humanoid lion-cub who won't stop calling me Papa. Third, I'm given a loft and some money by a perfect stranger. Not that I'm complaining about this, but really, who gives free money and board to someone they've never met? And Lastly, Serkanda. I decided I hate kids, thanks to these two.

They're horrible, a pair of twins without legs, but are joined by this free-flowing whisp of gray smoke that turns into a small hurricane swirl at the end. One is a boy, who is, I have to admit, a real nice kid, and he's such a joy to be around...but the other. The other is a girl, and it looks like she wandered right out of a Japanese film. She looks like a walking murder victim without eyes! It gives me the chills just looking at her.

Its because of them I wear gloves and long sleeved shirts all the time, and I hate it. Their touch affects me in two different ways, and I don't want it anymore.

I don't want them anymore. I'm trying to find someone who would.

Thats all I have to say.

Tyr's Thoughts

Halloween Party
I felt uneasy about this...

Read it here!

Okay, so I'm ushered into a party because someone recognized Serkanda as this...child needing redemption (I think they were talking about Serkan...she looks like she needs to redeem for something), and so I go inside, I sit down innocently, and generally try to stay to myself. The room was full of kids and adults, and they looked like they were enjoying ghost stories or something...

Anyway, I should have left when I saw everyone giving Serkan disgusted looks. I don't blame them, but in retrospect, I should have left right then and there. Andy was perfectly alright, he was an angel as usual...

...But some girl tried to touch Serkan. Serkan freaked out, attacked the girl, and went to go docile again, but the girl came back at her (and me!) with a SCYTHE. What kind of parents give their kid a SCYTHE!? It was probably a halloween prop, but it even have me cuts. So the girls got into a fight, Serkan tried to kill her, I stopped my helion, and Andy healed the other girl as best as he could. She's going to have lifelong scars though...

To top EVERYTHING off, people started to see ME as the enemy! One looked at me like I was the reason Serkan exploded! Now excuse me, but if you usher me into a place I don't want to be, then silently accuse me of being responsible for something I can't control at all? No thank you.

I left after that, the twins in tow. I never, EVER want to go to group gatherings again. Ever.

Six more minutes
To Eightteen
Crossposted to Home Thread

The teen had been up late again...however, this time was NOT due to insomnia. Ever since the unfortunate discovery and the terrifying realization that a certain set of twins were forever his...well, he refused to sleep through the night. Why? Well, that was easy...Serkan seemed to have a track record of grudges against him, and always tested out her abilities on him. Like oh say...the whole ice death touch thing? Yeah. The helion had yet to sneak up on him at night, but he was making damned sure that track record was never broken.

However, tonight he was up for a different reason; he was recalling the countdown he and his Aunt and Uncle would do three times a year. It was tradition, and he wasn't about to stop it now that he wasn't on Earth anymore; he'd just have to count down by himself this year, because Vaughan was sleeping in his room near the living room, and the twins were in their shared room beside Vaughan's. The last time Tyr had checked on them all, all three appeared to be asleep; well, he knew Andy and Vaughan were out cold, but Serkan...she had no eyes to judge, and her breathing was always regular and even...not to mention she had a track record for standing stock still and not moving a muscle. So Tyr assumed she was asleep, above all else.

He glanced at the digital clock that was on the other end of the room, where "November 14th, 11:54pm" stood proudly in bold red letters. "Six minutes..." He sighed to himself, pressing the heels of his hands against his forehead, flopping back against the back of the armchair he sat in. Right now, more than ever, he wished he was back home. This would be the first time in memory that he'd be honoring this tradition by himself. He wanted to be back home with his Aunt and Uncle, not stuck in some loft on another world with a Lion cub humanoid, an angel incarnate, and a pure-blooded helion.

If he were home right now, his Aunt and Uncle would be recalling the stories of his past and childhood with such mirth that it'd make Tyr blush darkly. How many times had he actually buried his face into his pillows to avoid even hearing those stories? They were told every year, but they never, ever got old. But he always got his revenge when it was his adoptive parents turn to have their birthdays...and oh was he relentless with his collection of embarassing stories against them. He knew that if he were at home now, the stories would be five times worse than they were to begin with; after all, Tyr was turning Eighteen in six minutes! Three times a year they got together like this, and three times a year he felt like he was the single most happiest boy in the entire universe.

You never realize what you have until its gone.

Gritting his teeth, he refused to let himself cry over the matter; crying would do him no good in the end. He'd get home one day, and he'd be able to do this tradition with his Aunt and Uncle again. But until then...he knew his heart would ache in a state of constant heartbreak. Cobalt blue eyes, so filled with emotion, looked back over at the clock on the other side of the room, the exact moment that a soft beep emitted from it, and the time changed within the blink of an eye. 'November 15th, 12:00am'

Pulling himself into a standing position, he rubbed his eyes free of the rebellious tears that rose up without his permission. With a sigh, he walked towards his own room, closing the door behind him. "...Happy Birthday, Tyr." He murmured to himself, crawling into bed.

Breakfast in the Loft
Tyr's unwanted realization.
Crossposted to Loft Thread

Serkan held her evil cheshire cat plush to her chest with one arm, her other hand clasped around the shaft of a spoon. It amazed everyone how out of everything the helion possessed, it was the cheshire plush that never seemed to succumb to her decomposing touch...actually, nothing of hers succumbed to it. Tyr had begun to suspect that once Serkan dubbed something as hers, she never harmed it like she did anything she hadn't claimed at her own. Oh...lets say the spoon she was holding for example. While the plush remained untouched, the spoon had started to rust and crackle. In fact she was watching it rust, and she seemed relatively entertained for the time being.

Tyr had long since given up trying to talk Serkan into eating. Everytime he tried, he got hurt, whether it be her ice death touch, or a few scratch, or ringing ears...and at one point, he had the food spilt all over himself. So now, he just let her entertain herself with a spoon while everyone else ate. Sometimes... He thought, I wonder what she's thinking...when she goes so still. His cobalt eyes rested on the helion for a moment, but he looked away with a shudder not long after that. Then again...I think I don't want to know...

His gaze then turned to Andy, who was shifting his spoon, which was abnormally clean, bright and shining silver, from hand to hand, as if deciding which one he prefered. No matter which hand the boy held the spoon in, he looked uncomfortable, if not confused. In the end, he settled for eating a spoonful of cereal with one hand, then switching the spoon over, and then taking a spoonful of cereal from the other hand. It worked out well, if not made the process long and painstaking. Tyr chuckled softly at him, then looked back at the third kid at the table.

Vaughan was silent, his tail swaying a bit behind him as he ate and read a children's book at the same time, seemingly to engrossed in it to notice anything else.

Finally, the teen stared at his own dish, eyeing the food that was the Gaia equivalent of Earth's Fruit Loops. Grudgingly, he found that he was getting more and more comfortable in this loft he had been forced to call home, having been living in it day in and day out for months now. Even if there was that constant fear of Serkan hurting him in his sleep, he didn't mind calling this place his home now, and not referring to it as a cage that kept him on Gaia.

Grudgingly, he was starting to accept this as his reality.

Tyr's Thoughts

...What just happened...?
11 . 17. o5

(( Read it here! It starts near the bottom, and continues onto page 5 ))

I'm not quite sure how it happened...But...I have a Mate now...? Its all so, so confusing...

I've only seen this man (yes, MAN) twice, one when we met, and the second time when he came over to break the news...and somehow, he ended up being my mate. This'll probably be one of the things I'll have to write down now so I know I'm not dreaming by tomorrow, so here I go:

Okay, I know for a fact that I met Pales and his son, Armel only but a couple weeks ago. We went out to eat and then went our seperate ways. THAT I know is truth. I didn't think I'd actually see him again, even though I gave him my address and number because he seemed the most normal person on Gaia, and he was friendly too.

But today...He showed up on my doorstep and said he had something important he needed to tell me. Armel was drawn in by the twins, so I have no idea what happened while Pales and I were in the other room. Pales told me that he wasn't human, he was some sort of shapeshifter...and...and that he'd been randomly picking up on some of my thoughts ever since we met. He went on to say that his mentor told him that when that sort of thing happened, it was an indicator that the other person was a potential soul mate, but that it was up to me to choose.

I don't know why I did it, I don't remember what I was thinking...but I accepted him. I'm Only Eightteen with no record of relationships to account for, and I have a mate for the rest of my life now! I'm not sure whether to cry or be happy. I like Pales, really I do...but its just all so...so sudden, so confusing...yet I also know he's a good man, and that he'll never hurt me...

Why me? First the Coming to Gaia, then the twins, and now I'm paired with someone who isn't even human and who I barely know...

The rest of the day got fuzzy...It seemed Serkan touched Armel's wounds and hurt him to the point of sporatic bleeding...I think I fainted after seeing Serkan play with Armel's blood on her hands. I woke up, helped Pales clean Armel off, and sat down and had a mind-link talk with him for the next while, with Armel sleeping against me.

In the end...Serkanda, Vaughan and I are moving in with Pales and his family. We're keeping the loft just in case I need to escape, but we're going to be together now. I have to be forced into this, or I'll never do it on my own...

Good god, why me...?

This account should be clear enough...I'm going to bed, where the world makes sense...

-Tyr

Breaking the news.
Serkanda...we're moving.

The day after Tyr's life-altering meeting with Pales, he found himself sitting on the floor in the living room infront of a pair of joined twins. Both were giving him critical stares, though like always...Serkan's stare topped off anyone elses easily; though he lived with the helion, he still shuddered every time he felt her 'gaze' focused on him. But he wasn't on the floor to play with them; not right now anyway. He had something more important to inform them; and he wasn't quite sure how to put it at first.

"Serkanda..." He addressed them both with a confused sigh, looking from one pleasing-to-look-at Angel to one agh-I-wanna-rip-out-my-eyes Helion as if they weren't so obviously different. "...I'm sure you remember what happened yesterday...and Pales and Armel came over for a reason, you see..." He blushed softly and cleared his throat; how was he going to explain something to toddler twins when he himself didn't understand it? He frowned softly as he noticed a twistedly amused lift to Serkan's pale and chapped lips. "...Pales and I...we're kind of...Kind of...Uhh."

"Bonded?" Serkan piped up in her raspy voice. She wasn't being helpful, no...but she did want to see her 'guardian' squirm... And squirm he did. At the rasping suggestion, Tyr shuddered a bit, and if it were possible, his cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. He only barely saw Andy c**k his head in a rather confused, but still very canine fashion.

"Y...Yeah...B-bonded..." He laughed nervously, fully aware that the helion was positively loving his reactions. "A-anyway...we're going to be livi...uh. Living...with Pales and his family." He spoke fast, trying to get it all out before he choked and possibly died on his own words. Unlikely, but not impossible! "In a few days...we're going to move in. Its a change of scenery I know, but I'm sure you'll both---" He stopped himself short, realizing what he was about to say. Slowly, his cobalt gaze turned towards Serkan, who was staring at him silently and as stone-still as ever. "--One of you will enjoy it. I'm asking you to be nice please..." The teenager pleaded with them. For the first time since they'd sat down, Andy showed some recognition to what was being said. With a gasp, he turned to face Serkan.

"Talk 'bout you!" The little angel informed her with a wide-eyed look of realization, one chubby finger pointing at the bleeding face. Still, he looked so proud of himself for figuring that out. His twin could only give him one of her 'God, you're stupid' stares in return, before angrilly smacking his hand away. Tyr could only watch the short interaction with a hint of amusement flickering in the back of his mind.

"It'll be hard but...I imagine nothing wrong will happen...for the most part, anyway. The loft'll still be here in our name if you two need it for some reason...but with that being said...Lets go pack, eh?" He had a lot of work ahead of him, and he only wanted to make this bit of information sharing short and sweet; which he had accomplished. Tyr knew that Serkanda wouldn't be of much help with packing...but he DID know that for the first little bit, Andy would be doing anything he could to help...which was nice.

Its best to deal with these things as they go, and forcing himself to pack early was just one of the ways this easily startled teenager dealt with things.

A New Hobby
...Needlework...?
Cross-posted to Raeanne's Journal in the Shattered Guild

So far during his stay on Gaia, Tyr hardly had the time to do much of anything. Right from the start of his almost fated emergence into this strange world, the teenager had been doing nothing but watching his life drag him along in all sorts of relatively unwanted directions. From acquiring the loft to the discovery of the twins; a helion child named Serkan and her angellic brother named Kandajha (nicknamed 'Andy'), and finally to discovering that he had a soulmate; of one of his own gender, nonetheless. Still, Tyr accepted everything that had happened to him (though this was usually after he woke up from a pleasant state of unconsciousness), and thus brought him to this point...sitting in a room within a house that was not his loft, with two of the most opposite twins in existance hovering near his knees.

The Teenager and his little charges had only moved into the D'arcy household a few days ago, and they were all adjusting better than anyone could have thought. Andy absolutely loved the place and the people within it; not that surprising, of course; and Serkan seemed to enjoy it too, if only for the simple fact she had more things to touch and rot, not to mention break. Tyr had reluctantly leaned against his 'Soulmate', Pales, for comfort whenever he needed it, and was fully forcing himself to accept that this was his life now, since he had agreed to the entire thing.

The one problem with the whole move was that now, Tyr had nothing to do. Before, when it was just the three of them in the loft, he'd be running around either cleaning, cooking, shopping, or making sure Serkanda didn't get into too much trouble; and now, that he and thw twins were in a larger household, a lot of that responsiblity never rested on him anymore. Thus, he had a lot of free time. This prompted him to get himself a new hobby, naturally. While going though the stores nearby, Andy pointed out a sewing kit on how to make your own doll. At first, he was a little hesitant about it; after all, why on earth would he want to take up sewing? But the longer he thought about it, the more of a wonderful idea it started to become. After all, if he could sew, he could create cases for things to keep Serkan from touching them; the helion's touch had the power to rot things down gradually...one of her most favoured hobbies was choosing an item and holding it in her hand, watching with her empty, ever-bleeding eyes as it rotted and broke slowly. Naturally the effect wore off once she let go, but it would never be as bright or clean as it was before he touched it. Thus, making covers would greatly preserve any special item in the house. That day, he ended up buying that kit; for practice, and to give Kandajha a new doll, since it was he who wanted it.

Which brings us up to where the reader came in, while Tyr was sitting on the guestroom floor with the connected twins. He stared at the doll pieces on his lap and directly infront of him, wondering where to start...it looked easy to do, but the hard part was naturally beginning the item itself. The teenager was barely aware of his surroundings while he decided, but he could understand that the eyeless Serkan was playing with something, and he could also see Andy was staring at the box the sewing kit came in, even though he was looking at it upside down.

"Well...I guess I should just pick a place, eh?" Tyr spoke softly, more to himself than to the twins who were nearby. Closing his cobalt eyes, he reached down and felt around until his fingers touched the gentle fabric. Once he felt the soft material, he opened his eyes and looked down, to see what it was he'd picked up; it was a piece cut out for a leg. "Alright...Guess I'm starting from the bottom, and working my way up." This time, he spoke to the blue-eyed Andy, smiling at the boy through his raven black bangs. Andy gave him a delighted, cheering squeal; and taking that as a starting point, Tyr got to work.

Luckily for Tyr, he was much better at improvisation than he was at following directions. Even though all he was doing was sewing the foot and leg for the ragdoll, he found he had to start over at least four times. At the beginning of his little attempt, he vowed to follow the instructions so he could do it properly, and when the teenager found himself confused and lost, he also found he'd done it completely wrong, and had to start over. He tried the instruction way twice, thinking perhaps he was reading and interpreting it wrong; but as his luck had it, both times using the instructions failed. Growling mentally from being unable to do something, he'd declared war on this little project...and eventually decided to make this doll his own way.

Round one without instructions was also considered a failure, as he realized a little too late that he'd managed to sew the thing backwards; meaning he was doing it as if it would suddenly come out as finished, instead of sewing the nice side of fabric on the inside, so that the sewing lines would be nice and hidden on the inside once it was flipped inside out. After leaving the room and returning with some sandwiches for he and Andy to share (Serkan never ate), along with a couple of bottles of fruitopia, Tyr undid his latest failed attempt, and got himself right into Round two without instructions. Luckily for him, he'd remembered what had made round one fail, and began to sew the leg he'd been working on for over an hour now properly, with the finer side of material on the inside, as opposed to the outside. The teenager gave a whoop of victory as the leg was completed, and with a sense of pride backing him up, he went right after the remaining parts to this damned doll.

He'd completed the legs perfectly, followed shortly after by a perfectly done torso (in his opinion, anyway; Serkan would only be delighted to say otherwise). The one arm, however, caused him a bit of trouble, as he forgot to sew the nicer side on the inside for starters.

Luckily for him, he had all day to tinker with this project, as it were only Serkanda, himself, and Toki in the house. Where Pales, Armel, and the others went...well he had no clue. While Tyr had started in the late morning, early afternoon, it was rather dark out when he finally thought he was finished. Stretching and holding the doll out at arms length, he looked it over. The stuffing was in it, it had its mop of red yarn hair...plus green buttons Andy had picked out for the eyes...and the two of them had even put together a ragtag dress for the doll; after all, Tyr had told Andy once, it was rude to run around naked.

Needless to say, Andy was very amused.

Setting the doll on his lap, Tyr arched his back like a cat, giving a pleased stretch.

A New Hobby
Part Three

As Tyr lowered his arms, he caught a glimpse of Serkan's back, her ever-moving black hair occasionally giving him a glimpse of the side of the girl's gray, corpse-like face. Whatever it was she were playing with, she was having too much fun with it...and it made him worry. Without letting her notice, he cast glances around the room to make sure everything was in place; and luckily, everything was. Then what was it that she had...?

His thoughts were cut short as a blonde-haired little boy patted his knee, then held out a couple of buttons. It seemed that Tyr's work wasn't quite finished yet... As he settled in to get more work done on the doll, a glimpse of something shiney caught his attention. Glancing at Andy and sticking his needle into the doll so he wouldn't lose it, he turned his torso towards the helion half of Serkanda.

"Alright, I'll bite...what do you have this time?" He held out his gloved hand to her, looking straight into her eyeless, bleeding eyesockets instead of what it was she were holding. Looking at her like this took an awful lot of guts and willpower, and he'd learned early on that it was better for everyone if you tried to command her respect by bypassing her disgusting appearance.

Serkan went still, save for her ever-moving hair and ever-bleeding eyes...was she going to give her prize over to that man? Hah, as if. Her prize was sharp, and it was pointy...and thats all she needed to know to want to keep it. The helion and teenager stared at eachother for a while, the former hoping the latter would break and look away; but alas, no such luck. It seemed her weak-stomached guardian unit was actually getting some guts to him! Still, she had no intention of giving the shard of glass up. It wasn't until Andy whimpered to her, talking the twinspeak that only they could understand did she finally relent to her guardian, keeping her unnerving gaze on him as she reached out with her cut and gray arms, placing the shard into his gloved palm. Serkan didn't look pleased in the least at having to give up her sharp object...

Oh, revenge would be hers, that much was certain...

Tyr didn't look at the item yet. Instead, he watched her until Andy dragged her off to go do something else; if he'd torn his attention then, she probably would have added to the lovely collection of scars, cuts and bruises he already possessed. With a sigh of relief, he tilted his head back, closing his cobalt eyes. Oh, he knew she'd plot against him now...but at least he won one of the battles, right?

Lowering his hand to rest on his knee, fiddling with the shard between his fingers, Tyr finally looked down. The first glance he took of it, he could tell it was something that was shiny...for it reflected the unfinished ragdoll perfectly, despite having been tampered with by the demon child. It took him two seconds to realize that it was a shard of glass that Serkan had found, that he now held in the palm of his gloved hand.

There was something...oh, perhaps different about this shard however. Serkan's touch was colder than death, and yet the thing he held was warm, almost pulsing...

...Gaia sure was a strange place.
