Setsushi looks over his shoulder, apparently somewhat intrigued by this story. ... But he blushes and looks back to his work when he sees Rika turning that stare on him, now.
... Rika studies him a bit longer, then takes out her monocle to rub her eyes as she finally lowers her walls a bit and remarks, amused, that she can hardly imagine Setsushi cooing paternally over an unborn child...
D:
"... And that is the reason?" Rika asks to confirm, as if she hasn't quite grasped the connection between the story and Luna's present appearance and is fishing for a bit more explanation.

Luna always has identified more with Porcelain than she has her own people.
Now, she seems somewhat embarrassed, glancing down at her hands awkwardly.

"I see," replies Rika, replacing her monocle and observing Luna's reaction, and then... staring, intently, up at Jokeph.
... And then looking over at Setsushi, who has brought two deep-fried whitefish sandwiches with lettuce on toasted white bread, and smiles, pulling out the nearest chair and collapsing ungracefully into it.
"This is not a noodle dish, but I hope it will be to Miss Sofi tastes." sweatdrop Madame and Master's food is also nearly done...
... Madame and Master, Rika mentally echoes, once again looking over Luna and Jokeph... and snatching her sandwich off of the plate Setsushi offers before he is able to finish setting it down gently in front of her.

"Filet-o-fish!"
Grateful for the lull in conversation, Sofi sits just as ungracefully in her own chair and begins sniffing experimentally at the sandwich. Finally satisfied that the fish isn't objectionable in any way, Sofi takes a large bite before speaking.
"Man, Lu, what was that, the Spanish Inquisition?" Her words are difficult to understand, seeing as how her mouth is packed full to bursting, but that doesn't seem to deter her at all. (In fact, one might say she enjoys spewing bits of pre-chewed food with every syllable.) "NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
But Luna is lost in thought as she searches her memory... and suddenly, she lets out a cry of surprise.
She'd almost forgotten how things used to be when she was a small girl. How as a young child, she still saw eye-to-eye with grown Boyan and Melody. How part of her identification with Porcelain was based on how, unable to speak, they were just like her.
...Suddenly, all she can think of is why. She honestly doesn't know when things changed or why. But she believes her memory, and that means that they did change.
She misses the "madame and master" comment.

"Who changed?" Rika asks -- though between her once-again tightly sealed walls and her own mouthful of food, Luna may not understand the question.
Setsushi return with two bowls of udon. He mentally indicates which is the hot-and-sour and which is the possibly medically unsound hot, though if Madame is truly determined he has brought a dispenser of ground pepper. He sets the tray down on the table, and then... places the bowls next to each other, on Sofi's side of the table. He almost sits down on Rika's side, but the whistling kettle draws him back to the kitchen. "Ah... does Miss Sofi take tea?"
And, in response to Rika though not private, Setsushi explains that the Porcelain here speak of a change... from some sort of small, entirely Sleeping state to a normal mental and physical Porcelain state. He does not really understand the mechanics or details however.
"All Sleeping?" Rika asks. ... And picks up a piece of escaped bread off the table, placing it on her plate.

Luna has a child of her own. She is quite adept at deciphering this language.
Everyone, she answers, and then pauses. Brother can explain better than I.
"I want lots of sugar in it!" Sofi answers. "And this filet-o-fish kind of tastes funny." When Luna shoots her a stern glare, she backtracks. "I didn't mean BAD funny! Just different! It's not bad!" To demonstrate this fact, she takes another large bite.
Jokeph is the first to sample his udon, taking a spoonful of broth, bringing it to his lips... and for the first time that night, he smiles.
"Ehhhh?! He likes it!" Sofi exclaims. Luna seems equally shocked, until she samples her own broth.
The projections are clear-- Luna is absolutely stunned that this broth actually has a little bite to it.

Rika will call the doctor for them in about half an hour.
Setsushi gives off vaguely hurt feelings in response, but continues making five cups of Earl Grey, one with a lemon slice, one with a spoonful and a half of sugar, and one with several extra tea leaves added directly to the cup, and brings the collection to the table, finally able to sit down next to Rika and regard her Princessly eating habits, one eyebrow quirked as if it cannot decide whether to be amused or disapproving.
Rika swallows, winces, and reaches for her cup. After taking a gulp, she regards Luna and Jokeph again. ... Particularly Jokeph, whom her eyes suddenly focus upon and she stares, stares, stares, silently questioning, penetrating, scrutinizing...
"... Is he your husband?" she finally asks.

Sofi coughs.
Luna turns to stare at Rika.
And Jokeph, surprisingly the most affected by this question, makes a strangled noise somewhere between a choke and a snort, and suddenly sprays a mouthful of hot and sour soup all over the table.
From his nose.

... ... ... gonk
... Setsushi will get a towel.
And a glass jar, or something sealed up with some sort of substance? Rika adjusts her monocle and peers down at the fluid with keen interest.
... But, "I suppose I was incorrect?"

Luna and Jokeph nod in unison.
--But now, Sofi seems thoroughly confused.
"Why not?"
Cue more choking from Jokeph.

Setsushi returns from the kitchen with a wet towel, a jar for Rika, and a nearly-palpable cloud of awwwkward hanging around him.
Rika grabs the jar with her free hand and begins pushing drops of Jokephudonsnot into it with her telekinesis. At the same time, she murmurs idly, "There are bound to be problems with interspecies relationships. But you two seemed rather close, and so it seemed a reasonable possibility.
"... Ah, you might want to use a bittering agent first," she tells Setsushi just before he begins scrubbing the table.

He is my guardian, Luna explains, eyes fixated on the table.
She's never actually CONSIDERED such a thing. And at the moment, she seems so rattled by the question that her mental mutterings slip out of her self control and fill the air around her to compete with Setushi's cloud of aaaaaaaaaaawkward.
Jokeph keeps one hand over his mouth, as if another salvo were possible despite not taking in more soup.
He rather enjoys the status quo. He and Luna are together at all times, or at least within mental earshot. He is hers, and he supposes, in a way, she is his. Certainly, there was a time when her attention focused on another, but it had been so experimental, so fleeting, that he didn't even think to feel threatened by it.
But what if...
What if she DOES find someone else to focus her attentions on? If she were to truly fall in love and want to devote herself to someone else?
The thought of separation terrifies him beyond belief. And for the briefest of instants, he finds himself hating Rika and Sofi for putting the very notion of marriage into Luna's mind. Everything is FINE the way things are. Mistress Luna does not NEED to be married. She doesn't HAVE to think about finding someone to marry.
Nothing has to change. Nothing SHOULD change.
And though he doesn't move at all, the knuckles on the hand covering his mouth go white.

Replacing the stopper on the little jar, Rika looks up and... stares at Jo.
"... Should we call that doctor?"

Luna stares at Jokeph, brow furrowed with worry.
And finally, after what seems like an eternity, he relaxes and resumes eating as if nothing had happened.

Rika seems relieved.
"Sorry, it was a bad guess. Perhaps as silly as asking me if Setsushi were my husband," she says, straight-faced, as she takes a bite of her sandwich.
Ahahaha. sweatdrop Setsushi sighs, shaking his head a bit and putting on an awkward smile as he finishes wiping up the table.
