What about lebkuchins? Those are great. 3nodding And while I'm on that subject, am I spelling lebkuchins right? I'm never too sure since that's just how my family taught me to spell it.

They're gingerbread-like cookies. If my family taught me the German correctly, it means "love cookie". That's why I was asking Boss Zetsubo.
Now I must tell the lebkuchin story. Sit tight, folks. It's quite a ride: The recipe my family uses came with us from Germany to America. Family folklore has it that my great-grandmother sold them to keep the family alive during the Great Depression. Family folklore also has it that Bishop McDonald, the former bishop of my local diocease, ate them until he was sick to his stomach after comforting my newly-widowed grandmother. Traditionally made during Christmas time for a large family, we make them in mass quantities from late November until early January. One full batch makes about 80 cookies & lasts about a week for a family of four. The recipe itself is a family heirloom & the only ways to get it are to be born into the family or marry into it. My sister & I have even gotten some half-serious marriage proposals from people after the recipe.

Ooh. Say, you wanna have a convenience marriage so we can swap cookie recipes? xd Nah, I kid, but those cookies sound amazing. I've been told some of my cooking is orgasmically good, such as the orange cake I made last night. I'm willing to bet good money that there won't be any left for me by the time I get home.

Well, i would normally be all "sure!" but seeing as i live in texas, and some ******** proposition just got passed that defined marriage as the joining of a man and woman *growls* wankers...

Oh yeah, I read about that. While I agree that marriage is the union of a man & woman, I'm all for civil unions of all types, including homosexual unions. I've always thought the government should leave marriage up to religion. As far as the taxes & such that come with being married, I think it'd be easy enough to change that to apply to civil unions & just say that every joined couple, heterosexual or homosexual, falls under the civil union category. "Civil union" could also replace the word "married" on government forms, therefore keeping the person's sexual preference private. Seems easy enough to me, but then again, I'm open-minded.
You know, I realize now I never bothered to find out what gender you are. Are you a chick too? That's the only way that proposition would matter. wink

*drop* ...how far have we come to get us talking about cookies... oô;
Erm... Well... Actually it'e 'Lebkuchen'... The word has little to do with love though but as we don't know the history of all things we eat... well...
You mostly see this stuff around christmasin shapes of hearts with stupid speeches on them or due to the Haensel & Gretel - Fairytale where the with lives in a house of Lebkuchen you can alyo buy little Lebkuchen-houses... We made one ourselves several years ago and... It was a mess. Okay. With that much honey in it one shouldn't wonder if the indrigents aren't that easily to be mixed but... Well. In the end we had a very big, slightly odd-looking house and... it took month to eat it xd rofl ... ... ... We prefer Baumkuchen.

I'm glad that you don't have to hear me, because I'd butcher the pronounciation of "lebkuchen".
