I call bullshit on the monarch not having any power.
Queen Elizabeth II still has the power to over rule any acts of Parliament, she just chooses not to. If she wanted to, she could probably start a rebellion to take over the country again, and most probably win.
She still has power, they just choose not to use it because it's easier for them not to.

She still has power, they just choose not to use it because it's easier for them not to. Actually, they don't exercise their power because they know that if they did it too often, the government would get pissed, deem them to be obsolete, vote would go through, people would be reminded of how much of their tax money goes to their own personal use, and then the royal family would have to get regular jobs like everyone else, except they can't, because they don't really have any actual job skills, since they've been used to having so many things just handed to them. Cuz they're lazy bastards.
