Trystans amusement with the girl lessened slightly as she made her move away from him. So she was done being brave? That was it? Honestly. Trystan looked down and moved one of his hands away from his guns. Maybe that was it... Well, he'd already told her he wasn't going to shoot her. If she decided not to trust him on that then it was her own damn fault. Looking over at Lauss when he spoke up, Trystan turned fully to the proto, deciding that scaring Lee wouldn't get him anywhere anytime soon. "A villain is a person who does things that are bad or deceitful, but justifies them with his or her own logic." Trystan said calmly, a hand on his hip. "The people who hire me are villains. They order for me to kill people that are bothersome to them." Trystan waved a hand in slight boredom. "Therefore, they are doing something immoral and bad - and are the villains behind the unfortunate events taking place." Trystan nodded, and Crux purred from beside him. "Simplified. A person guilty or capable of a crime or wickedness." Trystan just shrugged, deciding not to answer. Crux said it better then he did, after all. With a slight grin, the man decided that the Proto was definitely not a waste of his time.

Focusing on Lee once she started to ask questions again, Trystan cocked a brow. Did she really... not know anything? The demon snickered a bit. Well, it wasn't common information he supposed, after all.
"They do it because they can." Trystan amended with a faint dry tone to his voice. "They kill a lot of people - mostly ones who get in their way. If a business feels threatened, it might hire someone to take out the CEO or chairmen of their rivals." Trystan smiled humorlessly. "No one likes competition." He said softly, as if he knew exactly what that meant. Shrugging his shoulders, Trystan glanced at his Proto while the other turned its head to him, scanner shimmering. "Unless you've pissed someone off - someone whos got lot of money - then I'm pretty sure you're safe." Trystan laughed a bit. "I dont think many people would want to put a price on your head. You haven't made any enemies yet, I hope."

Looking up as Lee repeated the word, Trystan blinked.
"Dammit Crux." He said irritably as he figured it out. "I was trying not to make her panic." The Proto would have laughed, but apparently Crux was too caught up in simply turning its head to the side. "It is true however. They were your orders, after all." He said almost dryly. Trystan just scowled in return and looked at Lee. Raising his hands, he ushered her to a wherever her phone may be. "Well, go on, I'm sure you know a number- or could find one for a hospital. You dont have to deal with him right now though, I'm sure." The hitman shrugged his shoulders once more with a slight grin. "Whats a few more hours with a concussion on the floor? Your parents might wonder how he got bad bruising on his head though... Might want to watch out for that." Trystan warned, then turned to the knocked out man.

He'd been knocked out with a concussion before. It felt like having a hangover for two whole weeks after you woke up. Oh well....

Lee swallowed the knot in her throat when Trystan's focus moved elsewhere. Being a hostage wasn't much fun.

Lauss ate up Trystan's definition. A personal fan of summaries, Crux's was much appreciated. He planned to use it when the time came. "By that definition, that would make Miss Lee a villain." Lee folded her arms and glared at the proto, taking it as a personal insult. Little jerk... "And almost everyone else, as well. Everyone is a person guilty or capable of a crime or wickedness." Lauss didn't know what "wickedness" might include, but he did know what constituted as "crime" and seemed confident in his conclusion.

The threat level in the room fell flat as Trystan explained. Lee didn't understand the significance of his words, or even that there was significance to them, but the feeling of impending death was no longer pulling her down. "But, you'd kill me if someone did hire you, wouldn't you?" A sour expression crossed her face. Really now, was there any point in asking? The thought made Lee double check her "enemies", but she came up with nothing. No siblings to compete with, no classmate rivalries, no real talents for anyone to envy. Being incredibly ordinary had its perks.

Now, the smart thing to do given this opportunity would be to call the authorities and get the assassin out of your house. But that just wasn't Lee's style, apparently. "But what happens when they show up? How are you going to explain all this?" She pointed to Crux and the unconscious body on the floor. Lee held onto the counter behind her and pulled her self up, her knees staggering a bit from having been crouched for so long. "An ambulence'll get people's attention. There are people out there looking for you, right?" She turned to Crux, who apparently knew better than anyone just how many people there were outside the fit that description. Her pessimism was aiding the enemy.

Lauss, meanwhile, had already fetched the phone and was dialing the nearest hospital.

Damn her parents. They had to leave her alone for hours at a time. Lee wasn't sure where they were right now, but she imagined Trystan would have shot them by now had they been present. They had a way of making a bad situation worse.

Flickering his eyes over to the Proto with the utmost entertainment, Trystan snickered a bit. Why, they were all villains in such a coy little game known as life. Shaking his head a bit, he turned to Lauss fully, his eyes gleaming with a bit of mischief. "Yeah, that may be true, and in the end, when we're all villains, it just depends on whos committing the worst crime, yeah?" The question was meant to be rhetorical, as Trystan moved on to other subjects before listening to the Proto's answer. Crux thrummed from beside him. "But that would make you one of the worst villains, Trystan." It purred obliviously. "You do not order people to be killed like a god - thats true - but you are the one committing the sins for them." Nodding as if it made sense, Crux fell back into silence, narrowly sliding to the side to miss Trystans fist.

Sighing a bit irritably at the new question presented, Trystan just shrugged his shoulders upwards.
"Depends. Two weeks ago, I would have. Now, I guess its all about the money." He smiled as if showing his fangs. "I'm not exactly inclined to any of Banning's clients. Not yet, anyways." The young adult shrugged his shoulders upwards, fluidly even though at the last moment he flinched. There were still wounds decorating his entire body. "Anyways, you're underage. You dont fit how I work. I'm not that bad." Trystan snorted. It was true, he wasn't entirely inclined to kill kids. Unless the money was insanely well worth it.

Cocking an eyebrow at the girl when she brought up the prospect of other people showing up.
"I expect you to cover for me." He said listlessly, staring at her expectantly. "Lie." Smiling, Trystan shrugged. "Else love, I'll plan on being gone by then. I can just break into someone elses house. And if we do run into... trouble, then we'll deal with it. I've gotten out of stickier situations before." Turning, Trystan looked at Crux for a moment. "Mind moving the body into a more plausible place?" He asked, not for the hell of it, but just so that the Proto would stop trying to contradict him. The Proto purred and nodded, sliding away to drag the body out and to a room with a couch - preferably. Turning back to Lee, Trystan leaned aimlessly against the door frame.

"An ambulance will attract attention, but the people who are after me don't like getting involved with the public. They'll wait until any authoritative figure is out of the picture."
Smiling shamelessly, Trystan shrugged. "As soon as the ambulance leaves, I leave. That'll give me enough time to get away, and enough time to confuse them." Turning his head towards the door, Trystan flashed his eyes for a moment. "So what'll it be? Lie to the authorities, or deal with them on your own?" He smiled a the girl, wondering what her choice would be.

Meanwhile, Crux slid back in, his mission accomplished after a few misadventures of running into the stairs, as well as lamps and other hard materials.

"Trystan is one of the worst criminals. Is that 'ever' or just 'currently living'?" Crux was very helpful; if Lauss could be jealous, he would undoubtedly envy Crux's expansive knowledge.

Lee wasn't sure what Trystan meant about how he couldn't kill one of Banning's clients, but she was thankful to hear it. "What if someone bribed you not to kill them?" She fidgeted, for once hoping she didn't sound too silly for asking such a thing.

He's not that bad? She was about to protest, but stopped herself; she supposed in some strange way he was right. He didn't kill Mr. Coltair over there, when he very easily could have. And now, instead of killing her and slipping away undetected, he's risking getting caught just to help this poor man he doesn't even know. He's either much kinder than he lets on or he's very confident. Because Lee hated him, she went with the second.

Lie? Lee wasn't quick enough to be convincing. She'll be incredibly suspicious, but did she really have a choice? Tattling on the man with a gun at his side would definitely be up there on Lee's list of poor choices. "Y-yeah, alright." The reciever on the other end of the emergency hotline spoke up the instant Lauss was finished dialing. "What is your emergency?" Lauss turned to Lee. "Miss Lee, what is our emergency?" Lee snatched the phone from the proto's hands, looking over at Trystan a bit torn, and slumped with defeat. "There is a man that... hit his head on something... and we think he's unconscious now. Please send an ambulance right away." Lee shook her head, disgusted with herself for lying to someone with such authority. She continued to tell the woman on the other end her address, almost a bit too calmly for the situation at hand. "Help will arrive very soon. Please stay calm." Was that last sentence really necessary? Lee gave a quick "thank you" out of habit and hung up the phone, handing it over to Lauss.

The bumping sounds in the next room made Lee wince with every thump. She imaged how "careful" Crux was being with the man he had almost murdered. Poor, poor Henry.

Crux tilted his head at Lauss for a moment, feeling nothing but interest in the other and its oblivious nature towards anything revolving around what Trystan had taught him. "Trystan is one of the worst criminals.... alive." He completed, nodding towards Lauss. "He is not as bad as villains that make history, nor warlords, or mafia bosses. He is simply... one of the worst criminals... alive." Crux watched the other in amusement, wondering if Trystan would say anything. "Or so that is what I believe."

"Bribed me?"
Trystan snorted a bit at the comment, putting a hand on his hip and watching the girl with a sheer amount of amusement. "I dunno, it'd have to be a damn good bribe." Shrugging, Trystan cocked his head to the side, reminded of the incident involving Dreamer. "Or else the person must be damn interesting." The sly comment was directed towards the woman who wasn't even there, and with a soft grin, Trystan shrugged his shoulders a bit.

As Lee fidgeted around some more, the hitman couldn't help but notice that she was an awfully strange little thing. Wondering what Banning could have seen in her, Trystan leaned back against an opposing counter, his weight cocked to one of his feet, the other propped up against the back of a cabinet. He smiled, wondering a bit what Lee must have been thinking about. It didn't matter all that much - after all, there were only certain things someone could think about in a situation such as this.

Trystan listened to the phone call with little to no interest, having dealt with authorities in times like these before. No one knew of his face explicitly, and if they did, they were too damn afraid of him to want to try and do anything. Pushing himself up to sit on the counter, Trystan watched Lee with a mixture of amusement that she actually did it, and a bit of hidden gratitude. He was still recovering from a multitude of shitty things, and that didn't help much when it came to running around like a damn marathon runner.
"Good girl." Trystan purred, as siren sounds began to climb closer and closer to their house. "I actually didn't expect you to do that. Do you really like me that much?" Trystans taunting tone returned - he wasn't trying to be mean, no, he just didn't know the girl well enough to be nice. Looking bored now that he'd teased her on such a subject, Trystan cocked his head to the side, his boots glittering a bit in the sun.

"Soo....."
Conversation starters - Trystan certainly needed to learn some. "How old are you again?"
PostPosted: Mon May 18, 2009 5:15 pm

"Ah, I see. Thank you, Mister Crux." While the combat proto wasn't either gender in reality, Lauss couldn't imagine him as anything but a male. "Then, if I may, what does that make you?" His question was directed toward Crux, hoping to squeeze as much information from knowledgeable proto as he could. He would rarely, if ever, get this chance again.

Lee let out a sigh of relief. Well then, she had nothing to worry about. At least not while she was still living with her parents. She would try bribing him now, but as he was just about to leave it seemed like a terrible waste of money. Trystan's earlier words on saving had actually left an impression on the young girl.

That's Lee alright; overly compliant. Apparently even with those she strongly disliked. She was beginning to get used to being teased, and while it still stung, she tolerated it and ignored him. In all honesty, Lauss could be more brutal to her pride-- unintentionally, of course. Her face soured at the memories.

Lee folded her arms with suspicion. "Why?" She took everything too seriously; the thought that he was just trying to make conversation never crossed her mind. "Miss Lee is 17." Lauss was happy to be a part of their conversation again. "College preparations are underway, you know." Lauss nodded, happy to fill Trystan in. Lee looked away with disinterest; she didn't need to hear any more college talk than she did already. It was more than a little disheartening to know she'd never actually get to attend one, even if she didn't actually want to go.

Crux tilted his head to the side in a slight nod, his scanner shimmering once again as he glanced the other Proto over. Such a strange thing Lauss was. Though somewhat interesting.... "It makes me the same." He replied fluidly to the question, without the slightest hint of hesitation. "I commit the same crimes as Trystan, thus I am no different from him. Simply not the same species." Crux would have smiled, had he a mouth to smile with. "Does that answer your question, Lauss?"

Trystan thrummed a low note of content at the girl doing as he had asked, staring down at his wrist when the other fell silent. It was still slashed up from the night Crux had emerged, but the skin was healing up nicely. Most of the gashes had turned into scars, and only a few were still barely open. Sighing, Trystan glanced up again. He'd really have to be more careful. Next thing he knew, someone would be ripping off his arms.

"Why?"
Trystan repeated when the girl asked such a question. Snorting a bit, the black and auburn haired hitman shook his head a bit. v/color]"Because you look like you're fourteen, and I know you've got to be older then that." Trystan shrugged lazily, a cat like grin on his face. "I was just curious - you dont have to tell me." Turning as Lee's proto, Lauss began to speak, Trystan raised a brow at the note on college preparations. "Ick." He said distastefully, flapping his hands at Lauss. "College preparations? Poor girl." Crux thrummed a bit, turning to Lauss and cocking his head to the side a bit. "College preparations...? Are those necessary?"
PostPosted: Fri May 22, 2009 8:57 pm

"It does, indeed." The proto bowed as thanks. Oh, Crux, what would Lauss do without you? Lauss was undoubtedly still very naive in the ways of criminals and violence, but at least these two had given him a start. Guns, murders, villains; and with so many more possibilities still out there! Research on such things was now at the top of his list of priorities.

Lee's mouth dropped open. Fourteen?! Okay, she could take everything else, the money, the teasing, the being threatened with her life, but... that was going too far. One cannot simply insult a teenage girl by telling her she looks young and get away with it. Surely, he must have known that every girl her age wanted desperately to look older. Trystan was lucky, though; Lee wasn't strong, intelligent, or any other trait that could aid in effectively carrying out revenge. She didn't think of "telling" on him, but she did want to hurt him.

And so she tried. It didn't matter at this point if he decided to kill her for acting out, or at least she didn't give it any thought. Stepping forward, and with the most determined face she'd ever been able to make, Lee kicked his shin as hard as her weak little leg could kick. Ow... She held back the urge to rub her damaged toe, but the pain was shown clear on her face.

"They are necessary in every way." Lauss' voice rose, his concern growing increasingly evident. "How else would Miss Lee know which college to choose? Which programs they offer, how close they are to home, what they're minimum requirements are..." he could have gone on, but the thought of it not being necessary was too much for him. Lee getting into college was his purpose. If that wasn't important, then why would he even exist?

Crux simply nodded at Lauss's bow, returning it with one of his own before standing at full attention. It was interesting to let this other know new knowledge, but at the same time Crux wondered if Lauss had any to teach him. A thrum left his throat as he observed the other, red scanner glittering ever so slightly. Curious. Ever so curious.

Trystan snickered a bit at Lee's obvious reaction to his little taunt. He was quite happy he'd been able to make the girl drop her jaw, and shook his head a bit, black hair flying as he crossed his arms and waited for a reply. Thinking she was going to say something, he was a bit shocked when the girl actually had the nerve to come up to him and -
"Ow - ********, what was that for?!" Trystan gritted his teeth when a shot of pain scattered up his legs. She had to kick there, didn't she? When there were still bleeding and bruised areas all over his mangled body, he could only grimace and hold it in with all of his demonic pride. "I cant believe I didn't see that one coming." He said dryly, before his foot swept out, and he knocked Lee's feet out from under her, dipping around to her back side and pulling her back up by the hem of her shirt, only to lock her in a loose, but somewhat strictly "I am the grown up here, do not mess with me little girl" kind of headlock. "That wasn't very nice. I'll have to watch out - apparently the kitty does have claws." He taunted in a dry tone once more, though there was a hint of a smile on his face.

At least Lee had some fighting spirit.

Looking up as Lauss started to speak again, Trystan thrummed a bit, leaning against a counter and dragging Lee with him to make sure she didn't try and kick him again for his comments.
"Its interesting, how much effort one will put into this entire 'preperation for college.'" Trystan said loftily, looking over at Lauss. "In my opinion, colleges - school itself - isn't necessary, nor really good for anything. Think about it." Trystan cocked an eyebrow, his hand now just lazily draped on Lee's shoulder like a good friend. "They dont teach you how to love somebody, they certainly dont teach you how to be rich - or to be poor. They dont teach you what to say to someone who's dying, or do when you are dying. They dont teach you how to know what other people are thinking, or how to just walk away. They dont teach you how to live in the world - properly at least." Trystan shrugged his shoulders up, eyes flashing a bit.

"In the end, they dont teach you anything worth knowing - and they certainly dont teach you how to deal with the reality of life. Once you're out of college, you're out in the real world - and they haven't taught you anything on how to really survive."
Crux thrummed a bit, the conversation having made him watch his master in interest. "Maybe its just me, but its insane that everyone thinks that college is such a huge thing when its not." Trystan shrugged again, and smiled at Lauss. "But then again, I never had to go through it, so to hell if I know anything. I learned all of what I know now off the streets and through real experience - not through safe preperations or going to college." Trystans eyes sparkled a bit, but all he was saying was what he believed. Quoting things other people had told him before. "I didn't feel like wasting my time thinking about the minimum requirements for college, or how close they are to home. But by all means, go ahead and do that. I'm not stopping you."
PostPosted: Tue May 26, 2009 12:06 am

Lee's pain eased slightly when her efforts to hurt Trystan had actually worked. This was a first. She smiled and almost giggled -- that is, until she was knocked to the ground and strung back up again. Her head was too dizzy from the quick movements and possibly a small blow to the head from the fall to really register what had just happened, she just recognized that she'd chosen the wrong course of action.

Lauss watched the scene with curious interest. "What are they doing?" Lauss asked Crux, not wanting to turn his head from Lee and Trystan's peculiar actions.

Had Lee been in the right mind, she would have agreed with the man, every word of it; maybe not verbally, but she may have gained some respect for him. The fog in her brain was growing thin, but she was still dizzy and her legs were weak; had Trystan not been (unintentionally) supporting her, she'd surely have fallen over by now.

Lauss simply listened, a strange sort of mood overcoming him. He didn't know any of what he'd just said. Lauss knew nothing of love, or of dying. He didn't pick up on social cues, nor did he understand what caused people to become upset. "... And those are what matters?" Well, surviving was important, sure, but... love, dying, feelings? He could tell you the dictionary definition, but Lee wasn't about to learn any of what that meant from him. On the same token, he wasn't even sure there was anything to know beyond the dictionary definition. But if that's what Lee wanted, then that's all that mattered, right?

It was probably best Lee hadn't spoken up.

Lee was just getting a grip on herself and what Trystan and Lauss were talking about, and decided to throw in her two cents. "Then... what if it's for something you want to know how to do? What if you just wanted to get better at something? Like... maybe an art school..." Lee's voice dropped to nearly a whisper at the last sentence. Yes, her head must still need fixing; it wasn't exactly like her to mention art when there were witnesses around. If her parents knew she was planning to go to college for something as useless as that, she was done for.

Crux turned to Lauss as the other inquired as to what they were doing. Trystan had effortlessly jostled the others owner around quite a bit, and Crux was almost opposed to telling him that they weren't doing anything that the tutor proto probably would have agreed with. Instead, he thrummed a bit, and tilted his head to the side, contemplating his answers. With a bit of a grunt, he turned his head back to Trystan and Lee, examining them before tilting his head in Lauss's general direction. "They are...." He began, struggling with what word to use. "Playing." He said disarmingly, deciding that the word fighting would have certainly brought more trouble then need be. And, well, it wasn't a complete lie... At least Trystan was sort of playing.

Trystan, of course, was not paying attention to the Essentics conversation. Instead, he was just supporting the girl, thinking that it had been stupid for him to have knocked her to the ground. "You aren't supposed to hit girls," His childhood playmate had told him on countless occasions. He'd asked why, and the girl had just giggled and playfully swatted at him. "Because girls hit back." She had told him indignantly, and then added "And they hit twice as hard." Trystan wondered if that statement was true now, or if it was simply relating to any strong women within the world of Organized Crime. Because they did end up hitting. And they hit pretty damn good too.

When Lauss replied to him softly, Trystan turned his head, eyes flashing a bit. That was right, this was a Proto. He still had so much left to learn. So much. Trystan smiled grimly at him.
"Unfortunately, yeah." He said, shaking Lee a little to see if she was right in the head. "You haven't been affected by the things that real life brings, Lauss." Trystan admitted, humming a low note as he continued in a slight drawl. "The real world isn't just a place where you go after college and expect to suddenly by well off, and fine, and just dandy." He snorted in a bit of ill contempt. "Because that will never happen. Surviving matters most, but when you're faced with real life situations - people dying, people leaving, falling in love, falling out of it... You dont know what its like to face those situations for the first time - and college cannot - will not teach you anything about those kind of things. The things that matter." Trystan cocked his head to the side, and even though nothing in his body posture showed it, Crux understood the hidden undertones in his voice. The reek of self loathing. "Out there, in the place where college campus's and degrees wont save you from the real world, just one situation like that could rip someone apart, especially if they dont know how to handle it." Trystan lifted his eyes up with a cat like smile. "But you can only learn through actual experience, not text books and preperations."

Turning as Lee started to mutter, Trystan raised his eyebrows at the girls small protest, and realized he'd been propping her up the entire time. Curious, he listened and strained his ears to hear the edge of her sentence and thrummed a bit. Turning so he was half facing her, Trystan gritted his teeth.
"Look, if you want to get better at something, then get better at it. No ones stopping you." He bit into his tongue, not wanting to somehow sound contradicting. He wasn't exactly sure how to word it. "My family is known for what they do - you cant learn it in some foreign school with stuck up pricks. Everyone there is introduced to real life at such a young age that college just seems like a waste of time. I'm opposed to it because it wont teach me anything I need to know, and it wont prepare me for the things I have already encountered and still dont know exactly how to deal with." He sighed, awkwardly shrugging his shoulders. It wasn't that he had a soft spot for kids. He just didn't like the thought of someone being guided by someone else their entire life. "But like I said before,if you want to do something, then do it." His look hardened as he stared her down for a second. "Dont let anyone - anyone at all - get in the way of what you want to do." Crux thrummed a bit from near Lauss, watching his owner in a mixture of interest and curiosity. What was boiling his blood now? With a grin, Trystan put a hand on his hip, looking extremely defiant at that moment. "Its your life, and you only live it once. Dont let other people control it for you."

Lauss had never seen Lee "play", so he had no way of knowing otherwise. After all, he wasn't the type to assume someone was lying; if they were, he'd probably think they just didn't know what they were talking about. "That doesn't look like much fun. Is this how Trystan normally plays?" Lauss didn't have a fighting spirit like the others. Thank goodness he hadn't managed to upset Crux yet.

"So I will learn those things in the future?" The proto sounded hopeful. He was only about a month old, so there really wasn't much he could have learned yet. Another, more personal question came from Lauss, said in his ever-inquisitive tone, though it probably sounded more like prying than simply trying to gather information. "Have you experienced these things, Mr. Trystan? Having not gone to college... does that ensure that one will learn these important matters?" Lauss wasn't purposefully being defiant, but Lee, coming back from her daze, figured he meant that there was still no harm in getting an education.

Was Trystan giving Lee life lessons? And right after he'd insulted her, taken out one of her servants, and nearly given her a concussion? As long as he was saying something she could agree with, though, she'd take his advice. And somehow, he'd managed to touch the biggest subject in Lee's life; being controlled. But Lee wasn't strong willed like Trystan, so the old saying "easier said than done" summed up her thoughts nicely. "I don't think my parents would let me choose what I want to do. They'd kick me out of the house or disown me or something," Lee said with a shrug, leaning up against the counter to keep her balance. She may have been exaggerating a little, but it held some truth. Lee wasn't great at reading into people, but it seemed like her mother was living through her daughter, trying to be young again in any way she could. Letting Lee choose for herself wouldn't come easily, at least not yet. But maybe this was just her excuse for not taking control; at any rate, Trystan's words would probably stay with her for a while. "For an assassin, you seem to talk about 'life' an awful lot..." She picked at her nails nervously; maybe it was best to keep her mouth shut after the earlier episode.

The ambulance sirens were nearly right outside the house now, and any second they'd be seeing a group of men rush though the door.

Crux tilted his head, watching the two owners "play" around. He then looked over at Lauss, wondering if the Proto had ever experienced being deceived. Perhaps this was just because they were both young that Lauss had not gotten that he had been lying.... Then again that was the art of it all, wasn't it? Crux thrummed a bit. "It probably isn't." He responded indifferently, red scanner glittering a bit. Thinking of Trystans regular work, he hummed a bit of a low note. "No.... this isn't how Trystan usually plays." He admitted, turning towards the other one for a moment before Trystan governed Lauss's attention once more.

The man who was being questioned by the Proto lifted his head, cocking an eyebrow as Lauss asked about such things. A small feral grin fell onto Trystan's face and he simply shrugged.
"Everyone learns - it just depends on when you start taking steps outside of the walls built up around you." He said airily, but once again, the hidden self contempt could only be picked out by prying minds. "I've experienced a lot more then you could imagine. Lauss, I kill people for a living. It'd be hard for me to do my job easily if I didn't know half the things I did." Trystan paused, leaning against the counter behind him and half dragging Lee along for the ride. "But a lot of the things I have learned make my job a hell of a lot harder. However, thats life, and thats how its going to be. No one can reverse time, after all."

Pausing as the next question was thrown at him, Trystan blinked before slowly thinking about his answer.
"Either way, you'll learn about these matters. It just depends on how long you're going to wait. College, living with your parents, being in a dorm - all of that is within the boundaries of safety. Thats when lifes easy, and you dont have to rely on yourself to survive." Trystan smiled a bit hazardously. "Once you step out of that comfort, you'll experience a world that was only ever meant to teach lessons that could never be taught in school." Shrugging his shoulders, Trystan fell into silence, listening as the sirens got closer and closer. Men and women would be showing up soon for the man who was passed out on Lee's couch, and Trystan sure as hell wasn't looking forward to it. However, what would be would be, yeah?

Listening as Lee finally spoke up, Trystan cocked a brow. This girl seemed a lot like someone else he'd met earlier on in life. But hell, he wasn't about to get caught up on that.
"They cant control your life for you." He retorted dryly, crossing his arms. "And anyways, if they kicked you out of the house, or disowned you, at least you'd be doing what you wanted to do. Theres always a way out - at least thats what some people tell me." Trystan shrugged his shoulders up. "You cant grow up being commanded by someone else. Wouldn't that just be saying you're growing up like a ghost. You breathe, you think, you do. But none of its really what you want to do. Its all for some other person." Trystan blinked at the assassin comment, stared for a few moments. And then he simply threw back his head with a laugh. Looking at the girl with a dry stare, Trystan shrugged one shoulder up. "A hit man has to know a lot about life and death to do what he or she does accordingly." He paused, thrumming a low note in the back of his throat. "Anyways, I've been there, done that. I wouldn't preaching to you if I hadn't experienced half of the s**t I have."

Lauss watched Trystan drag Lee around, his belief that the two really should find a better game to play growing. But Lee wasn't objecting. She didn't seem upset, which was good. As long as she was having fun.

Lauss didn't understand at all. Walls? So... if he stepped outside, he could learn? He'd learned quite a bit within these "walls", and thought to himself that perhaps Trystan didn't know what he was talking about. Lee, on the other hand, understood quite well. She was starting to pick up on the vibes he was sending out; self-loathing was perceivable to those that shared it. She eyed him quickly, almost feeling bad for the guy. Meh, no need I guess, he'd probably hate to be pitied anyway.

If only her parents were here for this little speech. Not that they'd listen. And not that Trystan wouldn't shoot them. But still, it'd be nice for Lee's side of the college debate to be heard. "Always a way out..." She assumed he meant some criminal act would free her. "I don't think I want to work for a pimp or drug dealer or anything like that if that's what it takes... No killing people either." Not really an option. She shrugged as if this were a normal thing to say. She didn't want to be homeless, afterall. Then again, only half a year until she could officially move out.

Wait... move out. Away from parents. Not living with them. She'd never actually entertained the thought before this. It didn't actually seem possible. Being able to escape her parents... all the time. It wasn't like they were around often as it was now, but still. A place of her own. A life of her own. How... nice. Trystan was really making it hard to continue hating him. Didn't he know that supporting people made them appreciate them, not fear?

Her thoughts were interrupted by a small group of people, two men and a woman, rushing through the front door and into the entrance. Lee stumbled away from the counter, gaining strength in her legs at the sudden rush of excitement in the air. "Where is he?" The woman looked at her expectantly. Geez, no need to rush me... Lee pointed to the couch in the next room and the group hurried off in the relative direction, getting to work on the poor man. Oh crap... She rushed back in, grabbing Lauss and shoving him into the pantry. She beckoned Crux in as well. Illegal tools weren't something she wanted to show off.

Crux watched the two as well, but more in a curious, almost amused sense. He'd never seen Trystan give pep talks before, and had begun to wonder if all hell would freeze over now that he had. The Proto thrummed softly in the back of his throat, considering the possibilities as his owner dragged Lee around some more. This was hardly playing. He was surprised he'd gotten away with telling Lauss that had been what it was.

Trystan shrugged as the girl started talking again, loosening his hold on her, hoping to god she didn't fall over. He was slightly bemused that they were holding a relatively civil conversation in the midst of all this - despite the strange topic they'd chosen. He could here the sirens getting closer and closer, and wondered just what the men outside were doing. Oh well, escape later, have fun now, yes?
"I never said you'd have to do any of that." He said with a shrug. "Once you graduate, go wherever you want to. Get a job, move into your own place, or find someone to bunk with. You dont have to go around slaughtering people or selling drugs to get that kind of life." Trystan smiled lazily, shrugging one shoulder up.

Watching the girl fall silent and contemplate something that was probably beyond him, Trystan leaned heavily against the counter. He was kind of amused to see what kind of parents this poor girl lived with. They didn't sound very nice, from the look of things. Then again, what nobles did? Trystan snorted a bit to himself, almost feeling some sort of strange sympathy for the girl and her strange dilemma. Glancing up as the medical people flooded into the house, Trystan cocked a brow.
"Jesus, what did you tell them?" He said, not quite remembering the phone call. "They make it look like someones been shot - all he did was fall down the stairs." He smiled lazily at one of the passing medical men, who hardly payed attention to him as they all rushed off to the living room, one or two people flocking behind.

Crux glanced up as he was ushered into the pantry. Pantry... Wonderful. He almost thought 'not again' but he didn't have the emotional range to feel irritated at being shoved in again. Bounding in after Lauss in time not to be seen, the Proto watched the door swing shut. Back with Trystan, he was stuck following Lee around instead of looking like some sort of creepy onlooker. When one of the women came back into the room with them and asked for names, Trystan nudged Lee to give an answer before him. He always hated this part of the cover up anyways.
