Hearing the bell ring, Maria quietly goes to her seat with Euphie feeling very passsionate at the new piece of "Fire and Ice." She was very eager to get her music since, honestly, Euphonium parts are usually easy and not very hard to grasp but yet are very important.
He's very laid back but he sounds nice and not that demanding. I think I like this new band director.

Marita was shocked at his reaction. She reached out to him and was about to call him back but he already ran to his office. "What was that about......" She wondered. Was it because of her. This made her nervous.
Marita listened to Lyssander's description of the show. A Bass Clarinet /Flute Solo? Would she be able to do it. What if she were to freeze up and mess it up!? She shook her head. All she had to do is practice and she'll be fine! Not to mention the show sounds nice and it's easier to play when it's something she liked.

"Alright everyone, now that you know the show and know the concept, I have a question. Is there anyone who wants to try out for the duet parts? Come see me in my office in just a minute. For now here is the music. Please look at the song entitled 'Clash of Flames and Freeze'. Until our soloists are chosen we will start with this piece. Now any people wanting to try for the solo please come see me in my office.
Daniel silently stood up and moved towards the director's office. There was no question that he was going to get the solo. This duet aspect with a bass clarinet intrigued him, however. Never before has Daniel heard of this before. "Mr. Roseade, I would like to try for the Flute solo."

Holly had stopped playing and blinked at Mr. Roseade. Hidden depths beneath the calm surface? She decided that she might like him after all. She was going to wait to audition for the trumpet solo as soon as Daniel was out of the room.
((Sorry I haven't been on- I'm home for the summer and getting on the net is sketchy. I will do my best, though!))

Looking up At the student that just came in, Lyssander immediatly grabbed the flute music and placed it on the stand. "There you go, play it please." Listening to the student play he decided that the olo was perfect. "Good job, its yours." Lyssander followed the student out and said "Flute solo is taken, Who's next?"
Daniel look at the music and saw how increadibally good it was. Did he write this? Its good. Daniel picked up Velma and started to softly play. After playing the last note, Daniel had put Velma on his lap carefully and awaited judgment. When Mr. Roseade handed the music to him, Daniel smiled and walked out of the room. Now he just wondered who was going to play with him.

Holly saw Daniel come out (of course he was going to get the flute solo) and paused a moment before walking up to Mr. Roseade and saying, "I'd like to audition for the trumpet solo."

Looking up at the student who just walked in, Lyssander recognized her talent when she was warming up. "Holly, was it? Here is the piece, begin playing whenever you are ready."

Holly inclined her head, somewhat surprised that he already knew her name. Had she introduced herself and not realized it or something....? No matter. She began playing, seriously liking the music. She wondered in the back of her mind if he had actually written it. Definitely hidden depths, she thought as she finished the solo.

Listening intently to the student as she played, Lyssander was lost in her playing, she captured fire perfectly. "Holly, the way you just played is the exact way I pictured this piece when I wrote it for my grad project. Take the music with you, the solo is yours." Lyssander got up and went to the door to announce: "Two solos are taken, Better hurry or they will all be gone"
Daniel looked up and saw that the trumpet solo was gone. Who is going to get the other two? After a few moments, Daniel went back to playing the solo in front of him.

With a large grin, Holly said, "Thanks!" and walked out of the office, sitting in her seat once again. She began looking over the solo, memorizing the fingerings.
