Eli looked at Misha for a moment before he reached into the tent and pull out his bedroll " Never mind the tent, just roll this tight and tie it with the strings attached." A difficult enough task seeing as they never really wanted to roll properly, but one the boy could probably do without it taking ages, Eli could handle dismantling the tent himself and it'd go faster that way.
A part of him was curiously watching Misha to see how he handled things, the other was nothing like him and he barely knew him but.. he was the closest thing Eli'd probably see to a kid of his own helping him break camp and he didn't wanna be too rough with the duties.
Kell watched the odd bird flying over head warily as if expecting an airborne attack at any moment or perhaps daring them to try, this packing up of the camp was nothing new to him and until the bedroll was strapped to his back the dog knew he wasn't supposed to get in the way.

".. roll it... strings... alright..."
The next five minutes could be spent getting either aggravated or amused at the young Alter haplessly fumbling with the task, first trying to roll it up this way, then that, noticing the might as well follow the fold-lines it already had, then wondering how knots worked again.
"... ummm... I.. err.. never learned this kind of thing." he grinned apologetically. How utterly embarrassing, every adult could do this, but he failed.
At least he wasn't preoccupied with Kell anymore.

As Eli pulled up tents pegs and began taking the frame out of the tent he watched Misha struggle with the bedroll, it reminded him of himself those first few times his father had taken him out. " It's fine, most people don't, I was half raised out here once I got old enough so it's old hat for me" he explained. finished with the tents dissembling and having it bundled and strapped to his back.

The man had a point, but still Misha thought it shouldn't be as hard for him as it was. At least he hadn't damaged anything...
"If... you're ready now..." he looked around, not at all sure if Eli was finished packing now, he really had no idea, "...could we go? I'll get scolded if I'm home too late..."
No, another debacle like 'that one time' with Ellandra he wished to avoid.
"How fast are you?"

Eli nodded and retrieved the bedroll, he could carry it today, Kell had exerted himself enough and if they were to make a run back towards the city he'd rather not put extra strain on the old dog. " I'm good to go and I've never timed myself, fast enough I suppose" he would have said fast enough to kill but he doubted that was of any help. " Just remember I'm carrying about fifty extra pounds and we should be fine." He should be able to maintain a decent pace or at least Eli believed so, he wasn't a sprinter so much as a jogger, the more long distance sort.
" Just lead the way and we'll keep up."

"I can take my share..." I'm not as weak as I look.
"Just follow yes, right..." Misha squinted up at the sky to make out his position. ".. thataway."
And off he was. From standstill to a rather hefty jog in half a second. And that was only the start. Running full pelt wouldn't work for two reasons, one being he knew Eli wouldn't be able to keep up, and the other...
Everyone knew running away from dogs was a bad, bad idea.

Eli was startled by the speed with which Misha took off but was quickly chasing after him " You're pretty quick for someone your size" Gods but when this kid was full grown he would be something to content with. As it was he almost made Eli feel old and the man was in the prime of his life
Kell bounded after the pair easily catching up and running at Misha's heels since he was in the lead. At least for the other's sake he wasn't eyeing his feet as if debating that whole lucky rabbits foot thing again. Although to the hound Misha didn't quite smell like rabbit just a little and then like other things as well.

"I was made for it."
He didn't feel the need to say more.
Yes, there it was again, that building feeling that everything was just right. Somehow, Kell didn't bother Misha anymore as he inadvertedly sped up more. Yes, run, dash, high speed delivery, go and do your goddamn job boy! Oh yes, he loved this, beating heart, heaving chest and all.
Don't let him get ahead too far Eli! XD

Eli lengthened his stride to keep up with Misha, a bit shocked that the kid was managing to outpace him, he might be carrying extra weight but he'd been doing that for years. How this kid was running circles around him he wasn't sure, he supposed it was in the boy's blood. All sentient were called humans but there were those with blood that differed and some like lycans or elves had special skills, clearly Misha was one of these more advanced humans.

The Essentic would've been incredibly flattered, even ashamed to be regarded as such. Oh no, no, it wasn't like that at all... Computers are 'smarter' than people too, and machines more sturdy, but they're not worth the title of 'human', are they?
It was a good thing Misha couldn't read minds, or this could have slipped into a very uncomfortable discussion. For now, he was more focused on keeping his speed balanced between held back and efficiently swift. Boy, slowing down on purpose as TIRING. At least this man was quite fast, for a human.
"You're pretty good... like this we can make it in.. an hour minimum, but no less that seventy-two minutes." The calculation came faster than the thought. While he couldn't easily count money yet, the laws of speed and travel were ingrained in his system. The idea that his remark may offend the man didn't cross his mind until after he's said it.
"... I.. have an unfair advantage, you really are awesomely fast." Don't think I'm bragging x.x

Eli looked a bark of a laugh and grinned at Misha " We all have different strengths." He pointed out breathing a bit labored from the exertion of trying to keep up with Misha, Eli was in damn good shape but he was a distance person at lower speeds than this usually, still it wouldn't kill him. " I.." he paused rethinking what he'd been about to say " Well I just have different skills." He highly doubted Misha wanted to know he could probably fling a knife into the boys back accurately severing his spine while running. A testament to skill perhaps but not a comforting though to be sure and Eli was becoming fond of the kid, he didn't want to upset him with his wry sense of humour .

And upset him he would, if he voiced his thoughts aloud. Despite looking like a teenager on the verge of adulthood, Msha certainly wasn't capable of emotionally dealing with most kinds of trauma yet.
Scary people counted as trauma. Thank Isis he hadn't been around when Trystan came to pick up his spark.
For a long time, he ran in silence, occasionally speeding up and indeed circling around once or twice to keep his motor oiled. He apologised dully whenever he did, still wary of offending the older man.
Until...
"There it is!" One of the first gates came into view on the horizon, the low old miltary fences, tattered and neglected. He'd managed to manoeuver straight towards one of the gaps in the rather broadly spanning structure.
"Beyond here it's just a few minutes before we reach the outskirts, your destination will take half an hour if we walk, half that if we keep this up from there!" he called over his shoulder.

Eli nodded " I can manage another fifteen minutes or so of this place" especial once they were within the city where builds created shadows and protection from the sun and the ground beneath him was solid so worrying about his footing wasn't very important. Part of him worried about having to have Misha take him to the tannery, they were not the most pleasant smelling of places and there was a lot of well dead animal skins displayed all over in various states of being processed.
" Just try not to run into anyone." The redhead teased highly doubting that Misha's maneuverability would drop any within the city limits, chances were he could weave his way through a crowd fairly well.
Kell barked in happiness, the old dog had done this many a time once they got back in the city and Eli delivered his skills there would be treats for him, a good brushing and a nice comfy bed to sleep on. Eagerly he bounded forward as if trying to encourage the other two to keep up with him now.

"Happened once, won't happen again..." Ignore that, I'm just talking to myself. Misha also chose not to mention his extra skill there, to more easily escape the attention of the public.
"I'm not planning on any more delays, if you don't mind."
Kell's sudden bark made him jump though, quite literally, a few paces away until he swerved back. "Don't DO that!" eek, seriously D:
By now they were getting close to the edge of town, and the rock desert gave way to a tarred road, used by tanks and jeeps in earlier days.

Misha was interesting but not his master and Kell was not obligated to listen to him, luckily the hound had no more interest in barking at this point far more interested in running and breathing in the many scents of the city.
Eli adjusted the way he held his bag of skins and jogged a bit faster to run side by side with Misha. " You think that's bad?, try waking up to it" Eli loved his canine companion of thirteen years but some days he thought he was lucky to have unbroken ear drums.
" I don't want you to be late getting home, you can just point me in the general direction if you want." The hunter had no particular desire to have to feel guilty wondering of Misha might get punished for being late becuase he'd helped him. Grown men were not supposed to get children in trouble.
