The entrance came closer as they as they ran down the path. Finally, upon their arrival, half the village was already up in smokes. "T-This is.." unable to even say it, here were no enemies in sight from what the lord could see but a majority of the area were already burnt down from the explosions or have been attacked. He held his hand over his mouth, covering it from he dark smokes that emerged from he center of the village.
((I didn' say its on fire, I js said its up in smokes >_>;; BUT THERE IS NO FIRE))

"Well well well..." An ominous voice called out. "About time you got here!"
Abel jumped down from the top of one of the still intact houses and landed a good distance in front of the new arrivals. He new that the castle guard was nearby, but he had ordered them to keep their location secret until they needed to reveal themselves. He put both hands on his hips as if everything was casual. The smoke blew around him, as if afraid to touch him. "Man, you realize how long I was waitin'? Not cool, guys, not cool!" He rubbed the back of his head. "Got bored with this village a while ago, too..." He put his hand back on his hip, then looked over to see some less than happy reactions at what he had just said and grinned. "My, my, what angry looks!" His face grew more serious. "Careful... you'll make people angry by looking like that."
Abel couldn't see Alihi in the midst of the people who showed up. They just looked like a mass of flesh to test his strength on. Being darkened had increased his power and other qualities quite a bit. He normally wouldn't be this much of a challenge. But, he was being driven by this new force, and it was leading him to what he thought he was after. And yet, he hadn't even thought about his name ever since he had been darkened. He was blinded.
Abel moved one hand and placed it on the hilt of his new sword that he took from the castle. He felt that it... suited him well. He then grew that same menacing grin once more. "So what's it gunna be...? Feeling anxious?"

Blossom stared at Abel with wide eyes. What had happened to him? I mean, he suddenly sounds menacing... he never did before, unless he was shouting... he's... it's kind of creepy, really. What the heck does this curse thingie do to you?
The question was redundant, though; people were dead, buildings razed and smoked, and men all over Eyris had been turned equally dark. There wasn't any real question towards what that 'curse' did. "Careful... you'll make people angry by looking like that."
Like what? Like myself? I can't change my height, thank you! Blossom's first thought came, and she gripped her sword tighter. She didn't want to fight Abel, but she would rather him be hurt than her. He didn't seem to have any qualms with fighting them, and so she let out a little breath. This might look like Abel, but that... that thing... wasn't him. Therefore, it was fine to hit him.
Yes. Perfectly fine.
"Abel, we're gonna kick your butt, you know that?" Blossom called, trying to be menacing. She braced herself against the dirt, as if he might launch right at them, and held her sword at the ready. "So drop your sword. We're here to help! We can knock you out no matter how injured you are!"

"Yeah, I'm feeling anxious, you impostor. Anxious to get my friend back!" Alihi snapped, her eyes narrowed into a glare. Even now, she refused to call him "Abel". He wasn't the Abel she knew, not now. Someone or something had taken him over, corrupted and warped him into something barely recognizable. It made her stomach turn.
All of her bottled-up frustration and sorrow and confusion and everything just came out as she continued to speak, maintaining eye-contact with the person in front of her. "You've hurt innocent people with no reason what-so-ever. Your little "group" took comrades, friends, loves, and even family members away from us. And one of you tried to hurt my daughter." Her words weren't directed just at the impostor, but at any darkened soldier nearby. There were tears in the corners of her eyes, but she ignored it. There was no time for her to begin to cry; there were more important things to take care of. She gripped her sword, making sure she would be ready to move at any moment. I will stop you. No, I will save you.
"... You're going down."

Abel laughed loudly and mockingly at the girl who had just spoken. "I think you've mistaken me for my former self, who couldn't even handle the simplest of foes, shorty!" He then heard the voice of a different girl. He looked over to the voice to find that same girl from before. Her again... Abel growled lowly to himself. He listened to what she said, and tried to ignore her, but something wouldn't let him. Her words were like salt on an open wound. He couldn't hold his voice anymore. "Shut up!! I don't care what we've done!! YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND!! DRAKE IS THE ONE IN THE WRONG!!" The wind picked up a little after he had spoken, then died down once more.
Abel looked down at the ground and began to draw his blade from his back slowly. "You'll find that I am... quite different now. I'm no pushover. I'm fully capable of taking him down. ...And I will..." The blade continued to come out from behind him slowly. "...have..." With blade fully drawn, he swung it outward and pointed it at the group. "....my revenge!" His grin grew. "Come see if I'm ready to do so!" He chuckled to himself, not showing any signs of hesitation in his actions.

(( Aiyeeee busy again, posting fnally X_x;; ))
Ephraim stood quiet the entire time. He realized how angry Alihi was at what these people have done but doubtful that they cared or bothered to listen. It was confirmed when this person they called Abel started laughing in a very evil way. Ephraim gripped his spear when this mercenary suddenly drew his sword and he went into a defensive position.
The noble really wasn't one to make a first move, but then again, it didn't seem like Abel was going to either. "Whether you are the same or not I do not know" Ephaim spoke finally, after keepign quiet all this time, he gripped his spear, twirled it against his palm and pointed it directly at Abel. "But we will take you down by all means neccessary. Surely you cannot take us ALL on" The noble threatened. Maybe he can, maybe he couldn', Ephraim truly didn't know what this person had in store for he group but he was obviously about to find out.

The archers stayed well back, nocking arrows in their bows. Charice circled overhead, watching the scene unfold below. Ghis stood there, watching, his grip tightening on his weapons. All remained dead silent, ready for a brawl.

Abel glanced around, knowing something that they others did not. "Unfortunately for me, it doesn't appear that I'll be able to handle you all by myself..." He said, with a slight tone of disappointment.
Just then an arrow came out from atop a house straight toward the peg knight flying over head. If it didn't hit, it would surely spook the pegasus, and knowing what she's been through, it wouldn't be a pretty sight. The other castle guard members jumped out from where they had hidden themselves, and drew their weapons. They surrounded themselves around the group. Large scowled a bit, as he recognized the lance user from the manor, that almost made him fail his mission. The others, Steely Dan, Chickenwire, Clang, etc., all stood there with big grins on their faces, ready to take down the fools who had so willingly entered their trap.
Abel grinned. "I guess Nino is all alone now... or close to it, at the very least. Lizard girl will be pleased." Abel chuckled again. "Get them."

Blossom scowled at 'Abel,' not knowing what else to call him. "Maybe I should call him Anti-Abel or something," she murmured. She gripped her sword tighter, watching as he seemed to be visibly affected by Alihi's voice. There wasn't much time to dwell, though; as soon as he seemed to flinch, he was screaming, and then his sword was out, point aiming for them.
Ephraim was right as he spoke of the odds. Abel was up against four, at the very least -- Ephraim, Alihi, Chad, and herself. Ghis and his men were backing them up, but a sudden arrow was sure to scare Charice and her pegasus off. Before Blossom could wonder where it came from, the short guard member, Large, appeared, along with other guard members she faintly recognized.
"I thought... Large was a good guy," she whispered. Her eyes blurred with tears for a moment. Even more people than she thought had been turned. Not good, definitely not good.
"We-We're still going to beat you!" she squeaked. She took a step forward; she had to show bravery. Intimidation was a non-factor, what with looking like a twelve-year-old instead of eighteen. Her tightened grip put pressure against her wedding band, and Blossom's face set into one of harder determination. "And Nino's not alone! F-Father Renault is with her, and so are Aran and Bartre! And the others will be back soon, or they'll join us! Just face it, you can't win!" Blossom cleared her throat, trying to get rid of the frightened squeak in her voice. She mashed her lips into a thin line and simply glared, ready to fight.

The noble looked about before preparing to fight back. That was then he realized the face that had invaded the manor AND taken Amara hostage "You!!" he cried out, immediatly charging toward him until a few of the other soldiers blocked his way. Ephraim rammed his elbow in the face of one of them whom he did not really care for the name off and spun his spear 90 degrees, smacking another just beneath the chin and enough to back them off of him a few feet.
He managed to reach Large and their weapons clashed against each other. "I'd like to see just how strong you are with my own two hands now that I have my spear" he challenged, listening to the steel of their weapons screech just before he jumped back.

Alihi flinched slightly as he spoke. Who... who is Drake? She bit her lip lightly, keeping perfectly still and kept her eyes on him. She knew better than to make the first move. But still... she wanted to get this over with, really.
But maybe... it was risky, and it could probably get her hurt pretty badly. She was done with holding back, though. She was perfectly willing to put herself out on the line. "... Revenge?" She asked him loud and clear. "All of this just to see if you are ready to beat some man?" She looked up for a moment, shaking her head slightly. "... I don't know what he did, but..." Her eyes snapped back and met with his with a ferociousness that Alihi didn't even know she had. "It's still no excuse! You are in the wrong as well!!"
She glanced around at the newcomers. Her stomach turned when she saw one of them was the man that nearly hurt her daughter. Now, they were surrounded. She was okay with it, really, since she pretty much knew it was a trap... until the impostor mentioned Nino. She's back at the manor. Amara's back at the manor. Her teeth clenched tightly together; were there enough people there to defend if needed? Unfortunately, she couldn't worry about that at the moment. First, she'd have to focus on not getting killed.

(Charice is blue. Ghis is black.)
At Ephraim's charge, Ghis followed close behind, charging into the fray. A duo of Halberdiers, eager for a fight, obliged his challenge and raced for him. A General's armor was weaker at the joints and the neck, and one soldier stabbed for that while another aimed for Ghis' left leg.
They couldn't tell Ghis' expression, but he lifted his leg slightly, letting the one lance bounce harmlessly off his shinguard. The other met a mighty SMACK with his axe, sending its owner off-balance, staggering in front of his partner, preventing him from getting a good stab. Ghis' lance took advantage of this opportunity, striking the first Halberdier directly in the face as he staggered, piercing him cleanly through the nose, the tip of the lance extending up into his skull, killing him instantly.
That sent a clear enough message.
The second was enraged by the loss of his comrade. "You dastard! Do we mean so little to you!? DIE, you worm!" In his fury, he charged, and under his helmet, Ghis could not help but crack a small smile--charging opponents didn't know they were already dead. All he had to do was kneel--the Steel Lance CLANGED loudly off his breastplate and veered off to the side as the enraged enemy cursed and and raised his lance for a strike... but was taking too long doing so, and wasn't thinking clearly enough to step back. Ghis' Axe tore through his left knee, severing the leg in half. As his last opponent gripped his leg, screaming in pain, Ghis raised his lance and repeated himself, administering an effective coup de grace.
Was it terrible to slay these men, who had technically done nothing wrong? To some, certainly. But to Ghis, there would be too many men to be saved. Simply put, some would have to die this day.
If Charice could remember one thing from her training as a Pegasus Knight, it was this: DON'T GET HIT BY ARROWS. "You get hit by one, you're good as done" was the saying of the day, and if you avoided getting "hit by one", chances were you would fare well. That said, it was fortunate she was flying toward the village as opposed to away from it, so she could see it coming. Tugging hard on the reins, Aphrodite banked sharply to the left, raising its right wing as the arrow narrowly missed clipping the Pegasus. She neighed in protest. Now, really! First that... that... THING from yesterday, now ARROWS?
It was funny, that. Had Charice and Aphrodite not been chased away by a Hawk King, faced him square on, and come within INCHES of Death's door, they might have been genuinely scared by the arrow. But compared to a Hawk King who'd had YEARS of experience maiming, dismembering, and all-around GENOCIDING his enemies, an arrow didn't seem quite so bad.
Still, arrows were arrows. Charice turned the Pegasus around, backing well out of range of the rooftops. Her mage gunner could at least protect the archers from anyone who came too close.

Steely Dan narrowed his eyes, watching some of his solid men drop before Captain Ghis' onslaught. "Get away from him!" he yelled. The immediacy with which his men backed away from Ghis was notable; even darkened, Steely Dan had an iron grip over his troops.
He stepped forward and lifted his massive Killer Edge, twirling it in his hands, then suddenly leaned into a run straight at Ghis. His sword came up and clashed hard with the other General's axe, and then he shifted back and swung it up, trying to push Ghis into opening up a hole in his defense.
Large smirked as he caught the spear on his sword, and then he flipped forward and leaped, dropping behind Ephraim. "I'd love to give you a duel, but my friends want some action too," the little man laughed, as Clang and Chickenwire smirked at Ephraim. Both lifted their weapons, leaning back and falling into an odd stance, for heroes. Almost like they had a plan...
It might have occurred to Ephraim, or perhaps someone who could see them from above, that Large, Chickenwire, and Clang were arranged in a triangle around Ephraim.
Oh, s**t.
Ganon started at the carnage and the chaos around them, and felt the bile rise in his throat. His tongue flickered out at the smell of fire, smoke, and blood. A quiet hiss left his lips--
A flash of steel, a myrmidon in the shadows!
Ganon's tail whipped up to his back and in a second his bow and fiddle were in his claws. He set the instrument squarely against his powerful neck and began to play quickly, settling into a tune as he watched the myrmidon creeping along... moving toward Alihi. No one else seemed to see him.
Ganon had no choice. He nimbly stepped forward, playing up a storm, working into an intricate melody, and then suddenly he held out a note. Time seemed to slow down for Ganon as watched the crouching swordsman tense, the motion flowing down his arms and legs, and then the release of tension as he leaped. The flash of the blade in the air, Ganon watched Alihi turn while he continued to hold that note, letting it ring loud and true and pure, piercing the air. The Myrmidon sailed up in an arc, swinging both arms over his head and holding his blade high, ready to bring it down on the tactician.
And Ganon sharped the note!
Time seemed to unravel suddenly. Something shimmered in the air in front of Ganon. From Alihi's angle, she might almost swear she saw... a sword flying...
There was an eerie air about the way the swordsman moved after that. His eyes had gone wide, his jaw slack in a silent scream, his hands gripping hard on his blade as his body held together simply because it had no reason to separate. He didn't bring his arms down, but instead landed heavily in front of Alihi. The impact of his feet on the stone was enough to jar his head and arms loose-- a spray of blood gushed from his neck and the upraised stumps hanging from his shoulders. Still clutching his blade, his arms fell to the ground in front of him while his head, eyes frozen wide open, mouth now twisted into a sickening grimace, fell back and landed on the ground with a nasty crack. The mangled body swayed a moment on its feet, then fell forward and rather unnecessarily impaled itself on the sword clutched in its disembodied hands.
Ganon paused, then resumed playing slowly, offering Alihi a quick nod, looking to see if there was another target he could take out before he switched to his mandolin.

"Hmph, 3 against one eh? This outta be a challenge" the noble commented, preparing his spear as he kneeled lower toward the ground. The two heroes were to his left and right, behind him was Large, a swordmaster which Ephraim already had an encounter with. He eyed the other two, noticing their movements were different and that he was dead straight in the center of their triangle. "They plan on pulling a triangle attack? Well that's just great" Ephraim thought, sliding his right foot to the side slowly as it pushed the dirt aside.
Ephraim eyed the two heroes once more, trying to read their movements. It was then he noticed that each were going to attack. But the only problem he had with this attack..was Large..he couldn't see when he would attack or how for that matter, his back was toward him and that made it difficult to read his movements. Before the noble could think, a sword came flying at his head. Ephraim immediatly ducked, blocking the first attack with his spear head and prepared for the 2nd which came at him quickly, this time the blade aimed for his lower stomach, attempting to cut him deep.
"Two attacks..the third....Third!!" At that very moment, Ephraim was caught off guard and immediatly was he hammered into Large as he came charging through, causing him to skid against the dirt behind him, ramming into a burnt barrel. "D-dammit! Faster then I thought" Ephraim cursed, rubbing the back of his head. He narrowed his eyes and mustered up a glare toward the three. "This won't be easy.." he whispered under his breath.
