Colonel

The rank of Colonel is the tenth attainable rank between Lieutenant Colonel and Command Chief Master Sergeant and Commodore. The rank is attainable by a panel of superior officers based on performance and qualification. A colonel typically controls a wing of squadrons, usually consisting of one to three thousand airmen and women, with a CCMSgt as a principle officer. Colonels are also found as the chief of staff at Numbered Fighter Corps-level staff agencies.
