(( Sorry it took so long to maek poast! D: ))

Arashe fumbled with his equipment, literally dragged out to the battlefield by Mistress Ayra. But, his attention wandered as a hollow thump struck through the area, the Trueblade collapsing to the ground. Frantically hurrying over to her, Arashe pulled out an Elixir, about to treat the bump with it.

"Oh darn, Miss Ayra took a rock to the head? Terrible." Arashe poured a small amount of the salve onto his fingers, rubbing it onto the woman's forehead. "She should be fine now, right? We can take care of the perpetrator later, but for now... let's focus on the Hawk until Miss Ayra wakes up."

Arashe took his Hero Bow, and prepared to fire, following the Hawk King to ensure a hit. Just a little longer...

Tibarn swept upward in circles, letting the thermal carry him into the sky. To an expert sniper like Arashe, he was still in range, but only just. It would be a long shot... but a good shot would bring him down, hopefully without mortally wounding him. Hit the wing, maybe, and he could glide to the ground...

Tibarn turned slowly, crossing over the field, moving straight. It was the best chance he'd get.

Arashe saw an opening. The Hawk King had left himself vulnerable, going into an easy-to-hit location. Arashe removed three arrows, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves. Lady Ayra is expecting a lot from me, and I'd not want to let her, or my lineage, down.

...I can do this.

With unparalleled speed, the Sniper fired the three arrows in quick succession, his muscles tensing as he prayed for a hit on the target.

Three arrows flew straight and true. The first whiffed past the Hawk King's head, the second between his tailfeathers.

As the third shot by, he jerked upward in the air, then slowly rolled and folded his wings. Tibarn began to plummet head-first for the ground hundreds of feet below, rapidly gaining speed as he dropped, like a stone.

Oh, no...

(( Spaghettios! XD ))

Not this...

Arashe went into a sprint, trying to reach the area where the Hawk King was falling to. If he was lucky, he might be able to cushion his fall. A few broken bones is better than a lost life, after all. The Hawk King barreled closer and closer to the ground, as Arashe got closer and closer to the target.

Please, let me make it...

Tibarn dropped toward the ground, eyes closed, faster and faster, a green, blurring rocket as he cut through the wind. His beak drove straight down as he dropped, and then, twenty feet off the ground...

His wings snapped open.

Suddenly, Tibarn's speed was transferred horizontally, wings spread wide as he shot straight toward Arashe, his talons extended, laughter burning in his sharp eyes.

A facade. Arashe stopped dead in his tracks as the Hawk King began barreling towards him. He's not hurt? Damn! Arashe quickly prepared another shot, firing it straight towards Tibarn as a last ditch effort. Without waiting for the arrow to reach the Hawk, Arashe dove out of the way, in case he had missed. If he could dodge this rush, he might get another chance to attack, before anyone gets severely injured.

Melethia was now crawling her way around. She needed to find a healer. She was very well damaged. Not only was her wings very broken, she had gashes from Tibarn's talons. The Hawk Kings foot to her stomach didn't help her either. She was leaving a trail of her blood as she tried to search for someone.

Tibarn's assault did not falter; he took the arrow in the chest and barreled right on toward Arashe. As the sniper leaped out of the way, Tibarn extended his talons and snatched Arashe right out of the air, barreling on right over Victoria. His talons sank into the Jugdran's back as he soared upward, circling the meadow and sinking his talons in.

Oh, how it takes me back. The last time I fought a sniper, oh... Just like they wanted me to, forced me to... Dragging her into the sky, crushing her in my talons...

His eyes were wide and wild as he whipping in circles as he dug in, growling through his beak, "Is there... anything you... want me to tell Stefan?"

As Tibarn shot toward them, Large spotted his chance. Suddenly, Large lunged and tackled Victoria to the ground, yelling, "Get down!" A little sleight of hand hid the Lightbringer tome in his jacket, and once Tibarn passed over, he clambered up to give chase, drawing his sword and staring up at the Hawk King. He left Victoria where she was as he chased the hawk around a tree...

And Large was gone.

"Arashe!" Victoria called out, not even noticing the tome's absence as she concentrated all her mind into her staff's power. Quickly, she cast it forward before Tibarn could carry the archer too far and out of the magic's range. "Rescue!" she called out, and in what seemed like forever, the staff's power grabbed Arashe and put him next to the bishop.

Only then did she notice something was missing... not her Divine, but..

"My Lightbringer! Drat, where did that one who tackled me go? He must have taken it!"

For now, she tried not to show her panic around Arashe, and instead prayed that Elimine would deliver both the Tome in her hands and Arya to stop her mate's madness.

Arashe jerked, grabbed by the Hawk King, and taken into the air. The talons dug into his back, making moving, let alone speaking, nearly impossible. All he could muster was a slight wheeze as Tibarn asked him of a person he'd never even heard of, let alone knew.

A calming light enveloped him, sending him to the ground. The momentum of his fall caused him to roll across the ground, ending flat on his stomach. His back slowly became dyed crimson as the blood flowed out of the wounds. As his grip slowly lessened on the bow, his vision became blurry, slowly going totally white.

"I- I failed y- you, Lady A- Ayra. I... am sor... ry... I couldn't be... bet... ter."

Melethia fell to her stomach. She had taken a beating and there wasn't much left to her. "ANYONE!" She yelled the best she could. "HELP!"

{Oh noes, Arashe and Mel are KO'd! D:}

"I can't... heal them both at once!" Victoria begun to panic as she first ran to Arashe, using the Mend staff's power rather frantically. Oh, when she saw that bird again... he was to surely pay for doing this to her comrades. She of course had no idea where he flew, but she knew he'd be back.

The whistling rock had come from nowhere- a whiz of color past her head that she barely saw, and yet one that had left a clear impact. She hadn't even fully registered the sharp pain before she collapsed, her head hitting the ground again and the voices melding together into an unintelligible blur. Black had hazed around her vision, clouding her eyes as the heavy lids had descended...

She missed most of the fighting, until a spatter of crimson seemed to fall from the sky. A drop of blood from the Jundgral boy dove from the skies, reaching from the thin atmosphere above to splash against her lips- some of the residue had to be blinked away as the salty droplets attempted to fall into her eyes, and as she awoke, she licked away the blood on her lips. It wasn't hers- anyone who had tasted their own blood before could tell, especially with it being so chilled while still retaining its liquid state. Still, however, her mind told her to stay asleep- to recover, to stay where she was, to stay out of the cause of the bloodshed.

Ayra's bloodline, however, would not allow her to remain stationary.

Blood. Blood. Death. Be the sickle and the scythe, lest it descend on you in your sleep! Up, blood of Odo!

Snapping her eyes awake just as the glow of the Rescue staff shone bright from the corner of her vision, Ayra groaned as she awakened, her muddled and struck brain struggling to make sense of the barrage of sensory information. For a moment, she had forgotten why she was there- but the passing of Tibarn's silhouette over the sun had immediately snapped her out of her reverie. By the gods- his talons were streaked with blood, and an arrow stuck from his breast feathers.

"Tibarn!" Forcing herself to stand in lurching, ungraceful movements, she nevertheless forced herself to her feet and used her sword as a brace- not a smart move, if he attacked. Still, she looked to the sky, and to the majestic figure above.

"Tibarn, come to your senses! You're bleeding! ...Damn it, what would Vah do without a father, Tibarn?!"

Tibarn's prey was snatched from him, and something snapped. A primal, screeching roar tore the sky in two as the Hawk King wheeled around, flaring both wings and casting a horrible shadow in front of the sun as he flapped, glaring down at Victoria and Arashe.

He flexed his bloodied talons, adorned with the remains of Arashe's crimson-stained shirt, and then he shot straight up and around in a complete loop, firing himself straight at the ragged group below him. It was a move many had seen during the Mad King's War and few had lived to describe. The Hawk King was able to use this attack to strike at unparalleled speed. Some said that with that attack he could fell trees with his wings and uproot saplings with his wake.

Wind rushed past him as he fired himself toward them, but something caught his eyes, something... interrupted his rage, something...

Ayra's voice cut through the wind. Golden eyes stretched wide open as her words, her voice, the figure of her standing before him, waiting for his attack, apparently prepared to die, all these things crammed themselves into his mind and forced everything out. His whole form glowed uncertainly as he lost his concentration, wobbling in the air, losing speed.

He dipped much too low on the approach and suddenly transformed with another bright flash. Too startled and shocked to orient himself, he simply flopped around a bit with his wings before--

He crashed chest-first into the ground and his legs, up above his body, carried his momentum straight over his face and he bounced along the ground, somersaulting a few times until he skidded to a halt several feet to Ayra's left.

Concussed and confused, Tibarn reached slowly into the air, extending his fingers, then his hand fell as he struggled to roll himself over in hopes that he might push himself up.
