Obviously relieved, Elias did little more than add a check-mark to his pad. "There are more questions, actually...authenticity...cost being the most...prevalent." he mumbled, at first showing little interest in the rock candies. Sure enough, the enticing scent won him over. The allure of licorice was strong and primal, a familiar ode to the milky, verdant liquid locked within his study. He calmly held out his hand, not in the least suspicious of the plant and the goods he might offer.
It was characteristic of Elias to avoid giving his name, social pleasantries somewhat of an enigma to the lonesome fellow. He made little eye contact, letting his eyes fall once more to Aoi as he tested the candy against his tongue. Fresh with sugar, he breathed factually, "Elias Carmine." That was quite a surprise, even to the name holder - he never gave away his family name.

"Ah... Elias, alright. I suppose I have some questions to answer now... Oh, pardon me, I never said my own name did I, how rude of me. It's Elst."
He stopped for a moment, watching Aoi's fascination with the candy he held with a smile.
"Well, first of all, I can assure you this is completely authentic, Aoi here should be proof enough of that. As for the price... There is none. They simply request that you not attract unwanted attention to your newfound friend, and in turn, their shop."
He gestured towards the windowsill, with its lone purple orchid resting upon it, the petals framed in moonlight.
"I did, however, choose on my own to give them one of those, one of the only two I've ever managed to find, and trust me, I've looked hard. These orchids simply seem to be highly rare, but I felt they'd be suiting caretakers of one."

Elst. Elias observed the flower, taking in the various hues of purple and white with much appreciation. He never looked at another person like this, or even another living creature. "Glorious..." he managed, licorice candy dancing around his tongue and clacking against the sides of his teeth. It looked like Aoi...or perhaps Aoi looked like it?
But suddenly that marvelous flower was of little importance. No price - it couldn't be, that was too accommodating. What could the staff gain from this if it wasn't monetary? Someone held a great passion over these beings...or someone wanted to take his trust. He could trust Elst and the creature beside him. Perhaps he thought all plants to be like him, timid and unseen...this strange benefactor was entirely different. On to his second set of questions.
Elias cleared his throat, pressing his fingers into the note pad. "Have you met with the Project owner? Is he a good sort of fellow?" In the back of his mind he was itching to take hold of that pretty orchid...

Elst quietly observed the man's appreciation for the orchid.
"I suppose, once I manage to get that orchid to start multiplying, I may contact you... You look like you'd take good care of one. My goal is to eventually get this flower widespread, so it isn't in constant danger of extinction."
He listened to Elias speak, taking a moment to figure out what he meant by 'Project owner. He thought for a second before replying.
"Oh, he's... Interesting. Highly formal, and I can tell he is in no great need for money. He is definitely a 'good fellow', as you said- He simply seems to want to bring back support for Essentics."
