B.D. took out his radio again. "He's what? Ok. I'll head back now," he said into the radio. He turned around and went through the Glen's misty coolness into the South Arbor. From there he reached the Quad and the Front Gate where he met Natasha. "Alright. I'm here," he said to her.

Taneko and Ari walked into the orchard, gazing at the looong rows of fruit trees all ready to be snacked on. Their journey here hadn't been all bad, but Taneko was quite sure that this stay in the orchard wouldn't be just as pleasant as the last one. She was far too uptight and nervous to really enjoy the lovely setting.
Ari on the other hand was having a blast. She would occasionally snatch something off a tree, eat it, and when she was feeling extremely playfull, she would "acidentically" "drop" some of the left overs on Taneko, or throw them in the bushes while yelling "SPIDER SPAWN!" and pointing. Taneko REALLY felt the urge to tell her the story about the boy who cried "WOLF!" but restrained herself. She really didn't have enough energy for another one of their petty fights right now.

Ari and Taneko had been walking around for quite some time in the orchard and so far they hadn't seen the slightest shadow of a spider. They had been talking a lot and they now seemed to be on better speaking terms. If nothing better came out of this, then atleast their relationship to each other had grown stronger.
Taneko was starting to think about going somewhere else, but felt a dreadful urge to just sit down under one of the many trees and just... sleep... or atleast relax for a bit.
"I really need a rest... I think I'm gonna sit down here for a while... Feel free to run around a bit, you know the area, just don't run so far that I can't see you... you never know with those spiders"
Ari, who had been sitting on Neko's shoulder throughout the whole adventure seemed happy enough with this. It would be nice stretching her legs for once. She nodded happily and ran off. Taneko tried to keep an eye on her, she really did, but soon the sounds and smells made her doze off a bit.
Meanwhile, Ari was running around and playing with herself. She was having fun enough by herself, but somehow felt sort of lonely and wished that she had somebody to play her games with. She would just have to wait until this adventure was over, so that she would be able to make some friends.

Ari was running around playing her own small made up games. She would eat a fresh berry now and then, and she even managed to spot the deer that had helped her when Kitten got hurt.
At first she had been carefull, not going too far away from Taneko and jumping up at every small sound, prepared to run for her life. But with time she got more and more daring and stopped really listening for the small sounds.
Her brain registered a rustling sound to her left, but she took no notice of it, thinking it was just the wind or another animal. She felt a presence there, and it didn't really feel like a nice presence. Turning around, slowly, she came face to face with a huge yellow spider. This one was so much bigger than the last one, AND it looked hungry! VERY hungry! She screamed loudly and started running towards where she had left Taneko, with the spider right after her.
Upon hearing a scream Taneko had woken out of her dose and as she had been looking around frantically, she felt the panic rising in her. Ari was nowhere in sight.
"She must have had wandered off while I was dosing off" Taneko said to herself "WHY did I have to dose off?"
She heard some of the bushes right in front of her rustle, and there was her precious Ari, screaming like a loonatic followed by a great yellow spider. In her hurry to save Ari, Taneko almost tripped, but managed to keep her balance in the last second. The spider jetted ((Is that an actual word? o_o wink ) forward and was just about to snatch Ari, but Taneko got there just in time to save the pink sprite, who was practically crying her eyes out by now, and put her behind her back, shielding her from the hungry spider.
The spider stopped, unknowing what to do next.

Suddenly its prey had disappeared before its very eyes, and a huge animal had appeared! The large spider, being more experienced than its younger brethren, knew what large animals could do to you. It had almost been eated by a bird, once! After a moment of consideration, it turned around and fled back the way it had come, in search of more suitable prey.

"Oh no you don't!! "Taneko was mad! And Taneko could get scare when she was mad! This thing had just tried to eat her Ari for lunch! She grabbed her net and one of the boxes and started running after the spider. Ari had placed herself inside one of her pockets.
"Are you actually gonna try and CATCH that thing?!" Ari asked disbelieving while holding on for her life.
"NO spider, or anything else for the record, gets away trying to hurt MY family or MY friends!"
Ari looked up at her in astonishment. She had never seen this side of Taneko before. Maybe there really was more to her elfin friend than she had thought.
Seeing something yellow scurry off infront of her, Taneko prepared for the "battle" that was going to take place. The spider was fast, but she was faster, and soon she had caught up with the spider. The spider turned around to face her, and made a quick dash to the right to try and escape again. Taneko stopped this by slamming the net into the ground just next to the spider, cutting off the escape route. This small battle went on for a few minutes, until the spider turned towards Taneko once more, sensing that this wouldn't be the way out. The only way away from this... thing, was to fight.
Taneko, seeing the spider turn towards her once more, prepared herself for what might come. The spider's bite was harmful to humans, so it would most likely kill a sprite. If it decided to attack again, then Taneko would take the sting.
Ari whimpered slightly from the pocket, she didn't like it when animals eyed her like that. It was never a good thing.
"Ari, listen to me. The spider is going to attack in a few seconds, and I want you to make SURE that you don't get bitten. I can survive the bite, but you will most likely die if it bites you. If it comes to it's worst, then I want you to duck so that it bites me instead, understood?"
"..but..."
"I asked, understood?" Taneko determination was unbeatable
"Yes... I suppose I do"
"Thank you. Now keep still. We're going in!"
She raised the net slowly, and not a second later, the spider jumped. She whizzed the net throught the air, to the ground, where it made a soft "thud" noice. Ari's head popped of the pocket again, did she catch the spider?

The big spider landed heavily on top of the net right after Taneko smashed it down. Glaring at her, it spotted Ari's head popping out of the pocket, and its instincts took over. Food! The spider pounced at Ari, determined not to fail this time.
Unfortunately for it, the mesh of the net got caught around the hairs of its back legs! Instead of getting to eat Ari for dinner, the spider tumbled over itself and flew head-over-heels into Ari's chest.

((Just how big are these spiders o__o I always thought that they were like... bigger than the sprites!))
"AAAAAAAARG!!" Ari screamed "NEKO HEEEEEELP!!!"
"WELL WHAT DO YOU THINK I'M DOING?!" Neko shouted back. Both of them panicking. A lot. Ari managed to somehow push the spider away from her, but it didn't move far. It could smell food. Taneko wasn't happy with the situation either. She did, after all, have a big yellow spider crawling around on her.
She finally managed to brush the spider off herself. The spider landed on it's back and Taneko saw this as her chance. Grabbing the net, she clambered over to where the spider was now fighting to get back on it's legs, and clasped the net over it.
((Damn... I had a writes block in the middle of that, so it stops kinda weirdly o.O; ))

((The big ones are the size of a bagel, and the small ones range from 1/3 to 1/2 that size. The small ones are roughly the same size as the infant sprites. ))
As the spider tumbled around again and again, it became so dizzy and disoriented that it couldn't move, much less react. When the net came whomping down on top of it, it just sat there, stunned for a moment. Soon enough it broke out of its reverie, only to find itself scooped up in a mesh net. Flailing its legs only served to get it more hopelessly tangled, and it gave up. Instead, the spider waited, glaring at Taneko and Ari.
Next time...I'll get you next time, you juicy little crumpet. You may have won the battle, but...
*CLACK* The lid of the bug box came down, effectively sealing the spider within.

Taneko let out a sight of relief. They had done it again.
"Are you okay?" she asked the pink sprite.
"I... I... I think so..." Ari looked like she was about to cry, sensing this, Taneko took her out of the pocket, and placed her on her shoulder again. She had a feeling that Ari saw this as a safer area.
"C'mon, let's head back to the headquater and give them this nasty little bugger."
Ari just nodded, still looking as if she was in complete shock.
