It wasn't even ten minutes later when a dark fog spread through the woods. The oddest thing, despite the fact that the fog, like the weather, was dry, was that it was purple. There was no feeling of fog, just a purplish haze that made it hard to see, and oddly, hard to hear. Either that, or some one turned down the volume on the forest.

stare "Well," he mused, "THIS is different."

He felt a feather light touch along his side. Almost like a caress. The next touch however, was nothing gentle in the least. Fore-hooves met his chest and shoved. It was a weak shove, as such things go, not enough to budge him unless he was surprised. However, it did tell him where at least one other pony was, and knowing that, he could almost make out a vague outline. It looked like an Earth pony, maybe, but with this purple fog obscuring everything, it was hard to tell.

He braced himself against the shove and cocked his head curiously. "Something I can do for you?" He was polite, when it suited him.

"Too close," came the hiss of a voice. His own would have sounded quieter then he expected, even to his own ears. muffled. This voice was similar, though a little clearer. As though the speaker was used to speaking through this... whatever it was.

"Too close to..." he prompted, his curiosity piqued even more. This was certainly an interesting development.

"Too close," the voice repeated. Whatever muffled the sound made it hard to tell the gender of the speaker. "I won't have it happen again. Too close."

"And what if I get closer?" he asked, taking a step forward.

Those Fore-hooves pushed at him again. "Too close! Go away!" the voice insisted.

"Hmm, I don't think I will," he decided, smirking a bit. "At least not until you tell me why." Probably not even then, but he wasn't going to say that part.

He heart what might have been a snort, if it wasn't so muffled. "Go. Too close. Go!"

The hooves kept pushing, but he could feel that his moving forward was driving the other pony back, rather then the other way around. " No!" the voice cried, panicked.

He grabbed the hooves and pulled him closer to see if he couldn't spot the person pushing on him.

There was a surprised gasp as she fell agaisnt him. Defiantly a she, if the hair in his face was any indication as they both hit the ground. Seemed to be Earth, but he still couldn't make out any features.
