"Well, if you're ready to go, then let's head out, hm?" he said, giving her a little wink and padding in the direction she'd indicated. As the two walked along, he gazed at her with a contemplative smile.
"So... you've told me a little about your family. Care to tell me more? Or more about yourself? I'd love to hear it." He watched her carefully, observing her reactions to walking on the injured paw. He made a mental note to pay close attention to it, and not let her push herself too hard and aggravate the wound.

She followed him easily. Slowly, at first, getting used to walking with something other than just the fur on her paw, but it wasn't too hard once she started. Not too long after that she managed to catch up and walked side by side next to him.
"Well, my family isn't all that big, but it's not particularly small either. I have five siblings, though only three of us accompanied my mother to the Bahari'mtoto pride when she left." Amanzi thought for a moment, pondering on what else she could possibly tell him. Really, she didn't think of herself as all that interesting, but she tried to come up with some different facts.
"I love the water. It was an absolute dream come true to live by the ocean, I'll be completely honest. And I'll be honest in saying that I had no intention or desire whatsoever to leave, but Taku was more important, which is why we did leave. But I guess it worked out in the end; if we hadn't left, I wouldn't have met you now, would I?" she grinned at him happily.

Kunday nodded, smiling softly as he listened to the female and nodding gently here and there. "Who is Taku?" he asked her, turning his head to gaze in her direction.
"I don't think there's much else for me to reveal about myself... My father died in battle, and my mother died of heartbreak. I have no siblings so I was all alone. When I came of age I left the pride and I've essentially been wandering pretty aimlessly since then. It's been a long time." For a moment he looked rather sadly nostalgic and let his gaze settle on the horizon ahead of them.

"My brother." Amanzi giggled lightly, thinking how foolish she had been to forget to mention that. Hopefully he hadn't thought that Taku had been like...a love interest or something. Yuck. That would have been rather awkward. She hushed, though when he began to tell a story from his past. It was sad.
"I'm sorry," she offered sympathetically. It must have been hard, growing up. Having no father, a mother who died soon after, and no other siblings to help him or for him to grow up with. She couldn't imagine growing up and living without Taku. For as much of an annoyance he was, he was her brother, and she loved him dearly.

He smiled softly at her and shook his great head. "It's not your fault, but I appreciate it. My mother was kind and loving and gave me the tools I needed to survive on my own. I do not regret what happened. Still, let's not dwell on the sad things of the past. Tell me, what is your brother like? And the rest of your family or friends?"

Amanzi smiled softly at him and continued to walk beside him. She could relate to him, after all, but never wished for anything otherwise. Her mother had been a strong lioness, one that could and did raise her children to be the best they could have been. And Zizi was not sorry for that at all.
"Well, I'm afraid that I'll have to tell you about him next time, sadly." She had just glanced at the sun and, to her dismay, it was later than she thought. The zebra or gazelle--their entire hunting excursion, actually--would have to wait until next time. She slowly began to back up towards the direction her home lay in. Until next time, she smiled sadly at him.
