"Oh no, it's fine!" Uzuri almost stuttered out. She liked the pup's company, especially since it was the middle of the night. "But you have to think, would you really want to know your father?" She smiled slightly, with a kind look upon her face. "I mean, isn't it better to be happy not knowing about him then to find out he's some horrible being?" She looked down at her paws briefly. "I wish I had never known my father. He was a wretched beast." She was almost mumbling, but the words could still be understood.
"So I think it's best that you stay happy and not think about the what-if's in life, like what if you knew your father." Uzuri felt a slight anger rise within her. Thinking about her own horrible father.....it made her wish she had killed him herself, though she was far too young to be able to at the time.

Zuberi liked her way of thinking about it, he guessed that his dad wasnt worth his time and worry. Afterall his father obviously never wasted the his time thinking about him.... after that thought Zuberi felt a little down again. Oveall family was important to him, and lets put it frankly his father just wasn't "family" to him.
"You have such good advice Uzuri, you think that you would be happier." He knew his statement was bold and that he was calling her out, but her outlook was refreshing to him and he quite liked seeing others happy.

"I'm afraid it's too late for me." Uzuri felt her eyes slip downward, caressing the grass. She was surprised by the pup's statement-- never before had someone said something like that. Usually it was just pity. Unwanted pity.
"I have too much guilt over things in the past, little one. Someday, I'm sure you'll understand." she lifted a paw to the boy's face, sliding it down his cheek.
"For right now, though, I think that you should just focus on yourself. You're young, so be a little selfish, before your puphood is gone." she smiled warmly, wanting now to return to her wandering on the savannah, allowing time for her head to think.

Zuberi didn't want to believe that there would be a case when someone was too far gone. But he could tell tonight at least he wasn't going to get anywhere with her. He decided he would leave it at least for now, perhaps another night another time he would be able to show this dog how much good she had in her.
Zuberi looked up towards the sky, he had been gone a long time from the pack lands, it wouldn't be long before someone came his way looking for him, and if he waited much longer then he would have to deal with all the questions from his siblings. He smiled at the older dog, "Well I guess I should head back home. I am really glad I met you Uzuri, and I hope we see each other again soon!"
