Oh, definitely! As my basic rule of thumb for this type of story, the cannon characters are always, always the main spot light.
LOVE this. <3 Sadly, I don't write like this, I don't know. It just seems like a rule of thumb that an OCxCanon romance has to have a major focus on the OC. (shrugs) But that is so awesome! I think in all other circumstances, the main characters should have the spotlights. : )
I have struggled with this a lot, too. I've managed to get a few scenes in some of my ReaderXCanon fanfictions that focus solely on the canon characters, but if the reader or OC is the main character, it's almost impossible to avoid giving her/him the spotlight for me.
Same! I don't think I've read an OCxCanon romance that does NOT have the OC as the main character, though I can't wait in my own story. Next book introduces a lovely thing called third person, so I can't wait to write in the canon's POV! : D <3
...If I ever finish the first book... >,>

You know, it's funny; I came back to this thread (trying to avoid writing, I guess) thinking that I had never posted in it. Obviously I did, but I'd like to reiterate my initial point.
Hey! You! Write! Now! You heard me! Jump on it! /hypocrisy
rofl I am REALLY bad at this. In fact, I'm doing it right now. You guys have become my excuse. xd
LOL! I've been using all SORTS of things as an excuse. XD Though I was good. I started my big editing of Chapter Eight! Aren't you proud of me? ; D
LOVE my novel doctoring books! heart
