Felix took this opportunity to quickly get back in the ring and goes for a quick cover hoping to catch Evan while he was still recovering from the devastating knee.

Evan held his jaw while he regained his balance, getting back up to his feet.

Felix stood up as well after the cover he swiftly moved in trying to hit Evan with a quick snap suplex, before the champ was able to clear his head.

Evan blocked the suplex by hooking Felix's leg with his own, then tried to reverse it into a rolling neckbreaker.

The neckbreaker connects as Felix falls to the mat favoring his neck.

Evan sits up holding his temple and looking angry as ever after taking that last knee shot to the head. He went for a cover, hooking a leg.

Felix had enough presence to kick out before the count of three. He would roll away afterward beginning to get back to his feet.

Evan would try to obtain a side headlock on Felix, then roll him over his side and bring him to the ground and keep him down.

The headlock connects and Evan manages to bring Felix to the ground. Once on the ground Felix would start to throw some fists into Evan's stomach with his free hand. They weren't full force since he wasn't on his feet, but he hoped it would be enough for him to make an attempt to get back to a vertical base.

Evan relinquished the headlock before the action got back to the feet, holding his gut for a moment. He ran to the ropes and bounced off, coming back to try and nail and elbow drop to the back of Felix's neck.

Felix looked up when Evan released the headlock in time to see him charging at him when he went for the elbow drop Felix would roll out of the way, in almost the same motion he would get back to his feet. He would then charge Evan from the ropes as well going for a spear hoping to time it so that he would reach Evan as he either stood up or was at least halfway up.

Evan walked right into the spear and was taken down to the floor, suprised as he thought he was dominating the match so far.

Felix popped back up to his feet after the spear, he would then try to grab a hold of Evan's legs and put him in a Texas cloverleaf, hoping more then anything to begin to wear the champ down.

The champion was locked into the Texas Clover leaf, a submission he has become very familier with over his career. It stretched his back that had just begun to feel better since the fall from the cage at WrestleVasion and his face told to story of his pain. He reached for the ropes, knowing that if he got to one then Felix would have very little time to react.

Felix kept the pressure on as he felt Evan trying to make a move for the ropes. When he saw that they were getting close to the ropes he would release the Clover leaf then he would quickly try to pull Evan back from the ropes before he could react, finally he would attempt to put the champ in an STF this time, a hold that would make a second trip to the ropes even harder.
