Kiba watched Hinata as she placed the containers softly along the blanket. He was dying to ask her but when was a good time he wondered. She blushed at the mere gesture of him liking her let alone saying something right out. He had to play it cool and wait a little longer at least. It was true she liked him so he had a feeling what her answer would be.
Maybe I'll ask her after dinner. I just hope I don't do something stupid like Naruto. That's the last thing I need.
"Thanks Hina..." he paused blushing a moment. Why was it so hard to ask her...
"Shall we eat then? I hope you like it" he smiled with that familiar happy grin then took one of the sandwiches bringing it to his mouth to eat.
I'll ask her soon...

She could tell something was troubling the other and was very tempted to ask what it was, but remembering there conversion from earlier they where not going to talk about there work, which was what she could only assume it was.
Finally the other spoke again, she nodded along and took one for herself "I'm sure I will" she said before she started to eat, still a tad worried about the other.

Kiba was always so confident about his missions so this little setback err dilemma bothered him immensely to say the least. How hard was it to simply say you really like someone and hope they love you back.
Apparently a whole lot...
He took a sandwich and gnawed on it while breaking off little pieces for Akamaru so he wouldn't feel left out. His mind was so wrapped around his question to her even his stomach was a mess.
If I go back to the missions I may never get to ask her...
The more he took a bite of his sandwich the more he grew agitated to the point his fangs were showing when he was eating. It was getting to the point where he couldn't take it anymore as he blurted out something stopping himself soon after.
"Hinata do you..." he mumbled between bits and stopped. Widening his eyes he felt stupid he couldn't finish what he started speaking. Was she just as nervous as him he wondered. Looking in her beautiful eyes he hoped she wasn't growing worried his tongue had betrayed him with what he had to say.

Hinata was mid sip of her drink when Kiba began to talk then suddenly stopped, she tilted her head and gave the other a slightly confused look
Hinata do you... do...do I what?..
She blinked and waited for what was coming next, but the other stayed quite, now the words where running in her head trying to think of what could possibly come next... after giving him almost a fully minute Hinata spoke up in her quite voice..
"Do I what Kiba-kun?.." she gave the other a soft smile to encourage him to speak up.

He had taken another mouthful when his eyes reached her finally once more and he swallowed nearly more then he could handle. That question was like a huge lump lingering ever so nicely in his throat much like the sandwich was currently at the moment. It took him a few seconds before he began coughing and sputtering as he grasped for the bottled water he had packed. Pounding his fist to his chest he gasped for air then breathed.
Great I just about killed myself... This is getting me nowhere and I'm worrying the hell out of her....
He shook his head knowing full well she was worried sick about him right now after that display. So he figured it was now or never. He threw courage out the door and just went with the flow.
"Sorry that was dumb, "he grumbled playing his hands on her shoulders or rather paws upon them, "Hinata ... Do you think you would want to be my mate?" he asked her still feeling that lump in his throat.
Now he'd wait for her answer knowing the real truth.

Before Hinata could even offer help to the other as he choked, which did scary her a bit the other had fixed himself and had asked.. the sound of Hinata's brain shutting down and rebooting could almost be heard as the other just sat there and blinked at him.
Then, after a minute of processing, almost uncharacteristically of herself Hinata had tackled the other over in a hug, making what was almost a combination of laughter and slight crying, after staying that way for a minute she sat herself up, wiping a tear from her eye she cleared her throat "Yes, I would like that alot.." she said loud enough for him to hear.

Kiba was still feeling a bit off tracked by his little show of stupidity. Though he nearly swallowed air that made him choke again from her reply.
"You... you would?!" he replied with a shocked look that soon became a large grin upon his maw. The only thing he did afterward was leaned in for a kiss that he waited for so long. He did this very slowly placing his hands upon both her cheeks and looking her in the eyes.
"I've always loved you Hinata. More then you could of known. I just couldn't find the right way to tell you till now." he smiled now more calmly then pressed his lips upon hers knowing finally Hinata felt the same way after all that time.
