"Big talk, for a little girl!" Okassis postured back with a chuckle. Despite the bruise he'd gotten the last time he'd dared to tease Inaari about her youth, he couldn't be persuaded to do the reasonable thing and show her a bit more respect. Besides, this time, he was ready for her!
Mimicking her, Okassis got an apron for himself and pulled it over his neck, tying it behind his waist. "Hm? Oh - well, I've got our kick," he answered with a grin, "but, you know, as for the klah...." What was the least incompetent of saying, I don't know the first thing about brewing it? Maybe some puppy eyes would get his point across?

Oh, honestly. Traders didn't know a fardling thing about anything but their wares and the road, did they? Sovann rolled his eyes subtly, and grimaced... not as subtly. "Yeah, yeah. I know. You can't make it." He drew himself up, rolling up his sleeves. "Well, it just so happens that I can." If he had to. And the thing of it was, he wasn't sure how much of a competition it was if she was making all of the pots of klah. "All right, we'll get to work on our klah, and she can make hers, and we'll call it even, yeah?" Not that he expected that she wouldn't help along the way or anything. He grabbed an apron, following their example, and settled it on lazily. He definitely could've used a candlemark or so of sleep more than he'd gotten. Oh well.

Inaari tried very hard to ignore the comment. She really did. One day, she would probably be big enough for both of them, and then they'd be sorry! And if she had a dragon and they didn't, then who would be a little girl? Not her! Thoughts wandered back to the beautiful eggs heating delicately on the sands. She'd never gotten another chance to Touch them, and she felt somewhat dejected about the whole thing.
But Inaari would do well today! Clearing her thoughts with a shake of the head, she blinked at Sovann's words. "You mean, you're not going to teach me? I thought that was the deal!" The blond could make her own in a matter of minutes, being quite practiced. She'd been very eager to try and formulate their recipe into something workable, and now they wouldn't let her?
Maybe she could simper!

"What, so you could use our tricks in your own recipe? Not before the contest!" Okassis exclaimed snobbishly, then laughed. "But I tell you what, we'll let you take a taste once it's done, and we'll tell you what's in it after we win. Strike you as fair, Sovann?"
