The door opened with a jingle of a bell. It made the man pause and look up at the old bell hanging up in the corner.
"I really need to get rid of that."
He mumbled to himself and closed the door. On second thought, he didn't really mind it all that much. It was one of nice things about living in what used to be a store...of some kind. He never really knew what it was, although he had his suspicions, except that is was abandoned and the rent was cheap. That's all that mattered when he moved in. It was even better that it was close to the shopping district and discreet -- it had to close down for a reason.
Today was an odd day, one where Zvonimir left the house before getting his work done. He'd been unusually peckish today so he decided to cut work short and hunt for a nice restaurant for lunch. After careful consideration his jaws told him they wanted to chew on some rice-y comestibles and he remembered seeing a sushi shop around town that would definitely serve his needs. Not being particularly adventurous, trying out a new shop was enough for one day, he decided now to try out the sushi just yet and ordered something that hit closer to home.
It was what they called Katsudon and it was rather nice, making him glad he went out of his way to try out Go Go Sushi.
As he was enjoying his meal, he made a joke about how water meat should be made a sushi since they were technically fish, albeit alien fish, to a nearby patron. That's when the kimono-clad lady came out from behind the counter and offered him a small plush of -that's right- a water meat. Perhaps she overheard, perhaps she was eavesdropping, he'd never know. Neither did he understand why the shop would be giving out free plushies. Maybe it some kind of shop policy to gift first timers. Realizing he'd never figure it out he shrugged, thanked the lady, and went back to his bowl of pork 'n' egg goodness.
So that's how he got home with a cute little plush dangling from his fingers. In all honesty it was a bit creepy because it always seemed to be staring at him for some reason, but 'Maybe I need to get out of the house more,' was his conclusion on the matter.
Still, he was unsure what to do with his newest possession. Sure it was cute, but Zvon didn't particularly enjoy putting many accessories on his keychain -- especially nothing this cute.
Looking around the room he set his eyes on something and smile. Since it was 'technically' a fish it might enjoy being close to his friends, so Zvon pinned the plush, by its chain, on the wall right next to his fish tank. The fish seemed to take great interest in its new neighbour and Zvon hoped they would get along and be happy.
