Envy looked wide eyed from the ring to Ryan and then back again. Just 10 to 12 years ago the thought of marrying someone would be enough to stop her dead in her tracks in fear. But now, she felt dizzy because she was so happy. She loved Ryan so much. There wasn't a single goddamned thing she wouldn't do for him, except for maybe eat some anchovies but that was a totally different story.
She smiled and nodded excitedly, "Yes..."

Ryan smiled as well, standing up and embracing Envy with his left arm. His right hand, which held the ring, clasped hers as he gave her a soft kiss on the lips, pressing the ring gently into her hand. "Take it," he whispered as he looked into her eyes, "because it's yours now. A wonderful ring for a wonderful person...I think it's perfect for you."

Envy felt her cheeks redden a little and looked down at the ring at her hand with light green eyes. "It's beautiful... and the stone looks so much like your eyes..." She laughed a little and looked back up into his eyes. "Well now I feel kind of bad 'cause I have nothing to give you, I'm sorry.."

Ryan smiled, laughing softly and giving Envy another kiss, on the cheek this time, before whispering into her ear: "Don't you realize that you've already given me everything I could possibly have wanted? Just hearing you say yes was a gift beyond anything I could have dreamed of...and I wouldn't trade it for all of the world's riches. I would rather die a poor man with you by my side than a rich man without you..."
Ryan looked into Envy's eyes again before giving her another kiss on the lips "...and don't you ever forget that."

Envy laughed lightly as she wrapped her own arms around Ryan. "Ya know...I used to think that you had a book where you got all of your... all of your little romantic lines, and poetic sounding stuff, and your little quotes... but I realized that your just a magnificent person all around." Her eyes began to turn from the light green to a light pink instead. "I love you Ryan, and I'll always be by your side, no matter how rich or how poor you are." She got on her tippy toes a little and kissed Ryan. "And don't you forget that."

Ryan laughed softly. "Thank you, Envy...it's something I will always make sure to remember. I promise." He was smiling so much. I can't believe this...it's so nice just to be next to her. To love...and to be loved...
Then, of course, Ryan remembered what he had just proposed. Damn. I just asked to marry her - that means a wedding. "You know...I think this might take planning. The only wedding I ever saw wasn't that big, of course, there were only about fifty people living in this town. Something tells me that our wedding is going to have a lot more than fifty people..."

Envy's head cocked to the side. Planning? Wedding? The captain had never planned anything in her life and as for weddings, she had never been to one. She'd never even seen one on TV since movies with weddings were normally those ewwwy and emotional romance movies that made her nauseous to think about. Though she had heard about the drive in weddings in Vegas and once she read a book where the characters ran away from home and eloped in Mexico. Though right as the bride went to say 'I do' she collapsed from some food poisoning and wound up dying. So...either way, Envy's knowledge of weddings was pretty pathetic and sorta scary.
"Uh huh... planning. Uhm... or we could just go to Vegas? Maybe Amsterdam since if we went to Mexico one of us would die of food poisoning... "

Ryan just smiled even more and gave Envy a kiss on the forehead. "That sounds all well and good, but I doubt that everyone else in Soul Society would like being left out of this. Besides, afterwards we can have a celebration with dinner...and a cake is usually customary too, I do believe."
