Fish folded his arms across his chest and glared at Quinn. "I'm fine," he declared. "I'm not going to go slit my wrists or throw myself off a building. It probably wouldn't work, anyway."
He was not going to allow sense to be talked into him by a rainbow-haired feather-armed brat with personal space issues.
His stomach had other ideas, because it took that moment to grumble rather loudly. "Damn."

"Yah. Not gonna cut yourself or jump off of a rooftop, but you'll starve to death? No. I'm sure you have food. Let's go get you some, neh?" He refused to leave the room until Fish had.
He had worked so hard! And was so close! Dwayne would be so proud of him!
Fish had better not ruin that.
And so help him if the other godling tried to get back in that bed...

Fish gave Quinn another death glare. "You're not my mother," he said. "You're not even my friend."
Matter being that he was out of bed and he was hungry. He brushed angrily past Quinn and through the door. He stomped across the living room with enough force to make the coffee cups on the table dance, and started scrounging up a bowl of cereal.
"I know you're not just here because Dwayne asked you," he growled, pouring milk onto a helping of Wheatie-o's. Dwayne, curiously, had vanished. Maybe he had detected how dangerous a thing he had just set into motion.

Quinn grinned as Fish headed out the door. "Ouch," He said, without much sincerity, "That was cold. You sure know how to make a guy feel loved." He laughed. "No. You're right. I'm not here just because Dwayne asked me." He sighed.
"Last time I was upset, you helped." He paused, as this was obviously challenging for him to say. "I was going to ask you for help again. Advice. Something." He leaned against a wall, watching him get cereal.
"But Dwayne intercepted me at the door. You're awake now, so I guess I'm done."

Fish shoveled a few spoonfuls of cereal into his mouth before speaking again. "Alright," he said. "Let's pretend I owe you one for dragging my a** out of bed."
He ate a few more mouthfuls, taking his time to chew.
"What on earth could you possibly need my help with."

Quinn crossed his arms. And then he put his hands in his back pockets. And then he put them behind his head. Then he put them on his waist. He crossed them again, and stopped.
"Vale. Yesterday was stupid. This girl came and stayed at his house. She's a total brat. Ruined the whole day. Decided she hated me. Squashed me in the nuts. So I called her stupid, and that led to lots of issues. Vale got pissed. Then I overreacted. I would say, 'Did you hear about the sudden, strange infestation of rats at the deparment store in middling', but you've been in bed, so I doubt it." He sighed. "Vale got pissed. I ran away. I'm pretty sure he's still angry with me, but that girl was awful! I can't believe he likes her." He frowned. "I don't know what to do. I'm not used to," he thought of a good way to put it, "I don't know. Doing things right."

Fish held up a hand. "Slow down," he said, continuing to eat his cereal. "Vale. Kitty boy. Has an accent. Used to bum around with--"
He stayed away from saying it and skipped right on to the next line of thought.
"--Is your boyfriend?"
He laughed, spitting bits of cereal a good few feet in front of him in every direction. "I called it. I so totally called it."
He refilled his bowl and resumed munching.
"Sorry, continue. What was the problem?"

He nodded. "Yep. Valeriu. Cat ears, tail. 'V'hat about eet' boy. Yah. Him. He is my boyfriend." He ran a hand through his hair.
"He's mad at me. I'm used to people being mad at me." He sighed. "But I don't know how to fix it. Usually I'm not this worried about it." He scratched the back of his neck.
"I've already said everything else."

"Oh, I don't know," replied Fish, still eating and beginning to feel like a bit of a glutton.
He blinked at Quinn like it was the most obvious thing in the world. "Have you tried apologizing?"

Quinn almost squirmed. He looked down at the ground. "Not as such, no." He eyed the cereal Fish was eating. "I was kind of trying to avoid having to do that."
"Hey, can I have some, too?" He was hungry again. And nervous, which made him want food even more. He knew he was bumming, but he wasn't particularly worried about it.
"And where did Dwayne go?"

"Whatever," shrugged Fish, getting out a second bowl. "Help yourself."
Quinn seemed marginally more mature than the last time they'd met. He seemed to be growing into his new age at last.
He looked around the apartment, considering the question, and then shrugged. "I don't know. Out. Work. Painting. Life outside the apartment. He's his own person. I don't keep tags on him every moment of the day."

Quinn took the cereal and grabbed a bowl from where he had seen Fish do so, pouring it in the bowl, followed by some milk. He grabbed a spoon and shoved a bite in his mouth, giving him an excuse to not talk. He sat there in silence for several seconds, just chewing.
He remained in silence for a while, until he had finished his whole bowl of cereal. He set it on the counter, and sighed.
"I should probably be heading back home. Promise you won't get back in that bed?"

I should probably take a shower is what I should do, he reflected.
