Valrak hesitated a moment, "If you wish," he said. He took a few steps towards the road he was on and turned towards her, both to silently suggest he take the rear and to see if she had somewhere else in mind to go.

"I do," she said quietly. "It was a inter-species misunderstanding. I got a bit too close to his kill and, well you can figure out the rest." She looked behind her and decided that she'd prefer to walk by his side. Serenity dropped back and smiled, "He doesn't deserve to die for trying to live. He can't be punished for his instincts." Though Serenity had noticed the man's odd appearance before, she could no longer keep from asking about it. "What are you?" The moment she uttered the words she blushed and knew it was the wrong thing to say. "I'm sorry. I haven't even introduced myself. I'm Serentiy, a human." She smiled nervously.

The dwarf smiled, though his helmet and the blur made it hard to see, "My name's Valrak Battlehilt," he paused a moment to consider it, but decided to he'd have to do it anyways, "a gray dwarf, and as far as I'm concerned there's nothing wrong with that question."

"Really?" Serenity said cheerily, and relieved that he didn't find offence. "I've never met a gray dwarf before." She looked him over and found him quiet interesting. "I know that some races age differently that humans. I'm 19, and that's it and all. How old are you, ummm, in human years I guess is what I'm asking." Serenity had only been out on her own for a week and she was very pleased that she was already seeing the wonders of the world.

Valrak thought was a strange question, but he went along with it anyways, "Human years? I'd have to saaay, somewhere in the early twenties." By the sound of it she hadn't even heard of gray dwarves, but it didn't surprise him too much, most stories of his world usually starred dark elves.

Just keeping coming... After a few more steps, Lonta would have her follower. Her instincts told her that this person was no human. She turned her head slightly, barely peaking out of the tree's shadow, and glimpsed at it... it was so unnaturally tall! Definintely wasn't a human, someone else. At the last second, Lonta stepped out from behind the tree and confronted the beast head-on.
What are you and what do you want?, Lonta yelled out, grabbing her sword with both hands and pointing it at him.

"Oh shi-!" He started as she swung around the tree, and pointed the weapon's blade at him. His hand going to his sword's hilt reflexively, he had to force himself to stop. Looking at the blade for a second he blinked, before looking to her. The blade wouldn't do much to him, as his scales where nearly the strength of a dragons, but he didn't know who he even was, and didn't realize that.
I-i'm not sure." He said, as he wasn't even sure what his name even was. Looking off to the side, he spoke again. "As to what I want... I, just want to know who I am, and where I am."
(Hes only 5'6". Hes not that tall... Yet. wink )

[[Eh... heh. Yeah...]]
What do you mean you don't know who you are? That is a lie and I can not be tricked so easily! And what the HELL are you? Lonta stared at his long scaly tail, her sword faltering slighty. It looked like a dragon... but they were long since extinct.
What are you doing following me! she screamed out, using as much malace in her voice as she could muster up.

Taking a step back due to her yelling, at him, he began to speak again. "Like I said... I don't know..." He sighed, and wasn't sure of what to do. "I was going to ask you where I was, then you ran off."

"Oh, that's nice," Serenity said with a smile. "You must know an awful lot about the world. I'm just wandering about, trying to take it all in." She stopped suddenly. "So I suppose that if you're following me, you're following me to no where." She smiled nervously as she rubbed the back of her neck.

"Yes, you'd be surprised what can happen in only three or four years," Valrak said before taking a moment to reflect on these last few years, full of creatures, battles, and a few companions, "We should find the road in a moment, then from there, there should be a town of some sort within a days travel, give or take a few hours. Unless you have somewhere else in mind?"

"Not at all," Serenity said with a smile. But she quickly frowned with a little crease in her forehead. "Only I hope that I am not a hinderance to you. I hope that I'm not holding you back. If you don't want me tagging along, then please tell me. I truly will not be offended!"

He chuckled, "I don't mind," Valrak said as they reached the road, "In fact, I might need some help getting into the settlement when we get there."

Oh... Lonta sighed, sheathing her sword once more. So you have no idea who, what, or where you are? She didn't really like this situation, not one little bit. She threw her hands on her hips and frowned at him. Should we make up a name for you then? I don't want to refer to you as Man for the rest of the time you are in the area... But to answer your question, you are in my forest. The human village in nearby, by I don't recommend going there in your... current condition, she said, peering at his tail once again. You also need to take off your hood, I want to see your face.

"No... I don't..." Finally relaxing as she sheathed her sword, he watched for a moment more before speaking. "Human village..." He said quietly as his hood swayed some as if he shook his head. It seemed as if he was remembering something, but didn't want to. Subconsciously, he moved his tail, and hid it under the robe realizing that she was looking at it. "What kind of names would you suggest?" Slowly starting to remove his hood, he blinked as if the sun bothered his eyes revealing their cat likeness, then the rest of his face. The light blue scales covered it, but where smaller than the rest on his body.
