I like the fact that she annoyed Bill enough to dump her on Eric, who then washed his hands of Bill's mess and walked away laughing. Glorious moment. Viking: 1. Whiny Bill: 0.

I watched the whole show online and I have to say that it just pissed me off. I'm sure I would have enjoyed it if I hadn't read the books, but I like my movies and tv shows to be just like my favorite books. I know I should look at it as a loosely connected story and it's own entity, but I can't. I want to see my books on screen.
I watched the show with my husband and he liked it alot. What he didn't like was me stopping and yelling about each bit of the story that was wrong. razz
I do like Eric in it and I think Sam is okay as well. I like him more in the show than I do in the books. I think Bill is stiff and stupid in the show but, then again, I never liked him in the books either.

He is that indeed.
I read somewhere (and I'm pretty sure it was on Charlaine's website) that Sookie isn't actually going to get with Eric again. However, with the way things are going, I'm beginning to think she is lying. I want her to get with Eric. I really really really really do.

Okay, I totally LOVED the show. That is, after the first couple of episodes and the actors getting a feel for their characters.
Now I've read a lot of the books.
The show really irritates the crap out of me. Sam is much more easy going in the books and isn't all up in Sookie's business every 5 minutes. Tara, even though I love her in the show as well, is an entirely different character in the books. (Tara and Sam together?? Could you imagine that in the book =P) Bill, okay, the show does a great job of portraying his lack of a personality. He is not even close to my list of characters I like, in the book or show. So, Bill's killing of the vampire instead of Eric, and the whole going before the, what . . . vampire committee? .(and that girl made me laugh, the one he had to turn) . . Now how is he going to up his status in the vampire government??
Also, Jason taking up with that kookie anti-vampire religious group . . . .
I don't know. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to tolerate the following season, though I'm sure I'll give it a whirl.

I think Jason joining the Fellowship of the Sun was a good way to introduce those religious wakos. I'm sure it won't last though, especially with the were-incident.
I like Tara a LOT, she's hilarious!
-Also I heard the actor that plays Eric might play Thor *squeeeee* (I'm a comic book junkie too) I can't WAIT for the Avengers movie! (especially if Eric's in it......mmmmmm)

I agree. Using characters we already know to introduce new plot twists works a lot better than just throwing it in there. At least from a TV show perspective. I really hope that it doesn't last though because otherwise its just going to make me hate Jason even more. I've already got a love/hate relationship with him in the books, I don't need to add this on to it too.
But my favorite character in Season One by far is Lafayette! I really really really wish that it wasn't him that got attacked outside the bar! I don't want him to die! He's just too great! He absolutely made the show for me. Him and Tara both. They were just perfect.
I heard that rumor too, but Alexander Skarsguard (Eric) said that he's not planning on taking the role. I really wish he would, but he released something on his website saying that he wasn't taking the role. Which is really a pity.ii

Which is really a pity.ii sad that's too bad, I think he would have been a good Thor, not to mention a hott one (ha-ha)
I had also heard some wrestler might do the part, which kinda makes me go "ick"
-But enough about Thor, more True Blood, weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I haven't read the books yet; actually, my dad bought me the third in the series last night and I shamefully read it. It was pretty confusing without knowing who most of the vamps were. I just watched the 1st season on dvd. c: Excellent! I loved it. But I am super anxious to see whose foot was in Detective Bellefleur's car. And what attacked LaFayette and how Eric knew or said something about it. Don't tell me if you know C: I'm just reflecting.

Peach you really gotta read the books! They are great! So much better than the HBO series and way better than the Twilight series. I'm a southern girl myself and its just so great to actually know some of the places that they talk about.
Definitely go out and buy Dead Until Dark. You're gonna love it!

Oh wow. I'm jealous!
The only time I'm likely to get the entire box set is on my birthday. But that isn't until July. *pouts*
