Such a beautiful ambush, I exalted as Cru burst from the leaves in a blur of perfect, murderous blows that left a pair of shattered hulks decorating the ground near her pounce. There was no chance they'd notice me now, with literally the very angel of death tearing at their backs as they ran for their lives, and I took the opportunity to reposition myself slightly, making sure that the seconds I had before they reached me were well-spent.

Then came that single moment, the instant of godlike power, choosing who lived, and who was dinner. I could have waited a tad longer, achieved a more optimal position I suppose, but the opportunity was simply too great to pass up. My hind legs tensed, claws extending to dig deep into the fallen tree's bark as I leaped. A beautiful, parabolic arc through the air, a moment of nearly freefall as my adrenaline-pumped senses tracked everything in slow motion. Cru's driving charge. The look of slowly-dawning horror on the prey's faces. The exact spot I wanted to hit.

My full body weight landed on my front paws, claws extended as I literally drove the leader of the fleeing prey into the ground, snapping his neck with simple, raw power from the pounce. I felt the twiglike *crack* through my pads and shifted my weight as I landed, sliding broadside into the path of the survivors. I halted their flight with a wall of muscle and fur, sealing their fate between my own claws and fangs, and those of Cru closing from behind.

Faces showed utter, mortal fear. They knew it was over as I swept a second down in a flurry of slashing blows, his blood staining my fangs as I tore his throat. The solitary survivor recoiled, freezing in place between two lethal hunters, with no escape.

And this was the dawn of a entire new relationship than I have ever shared. I never had friends- I had people. Then just watching the Capybara fly threw the air was pure beauty, It took a master of the arts for me to see that. I snarled as William took out another pig and the last one stood between us. I grinned, my stance changed as I starred down this tiny figment of life, to it we were almighty; and thus My name shows true. My Once ivory pelt now matched the crimson on my breast, I stepped towards the crying herbivore- looking directly at William. It's a weird connection I have with you brute- but I enjoy it.

I towered over this rat-pig, looking down upon it as I contemplated how exactly it should die. I wondered If I should let it live? Maybe. My innards lurched forward in attempt to take this tiny beast into my stomach, apparently it was going to do the job for me, and I still refused to eat. No not until this little piggy was dead.

What shall we do with it?

I smiled, the words falling from my velveteen kissers were alluring, filled with my lust for blood.

I smiled, watching Cru advanced to close the jaws of death around the hapless, cowering prey animal, now simply huddled in a ball on the ground. I smiled, my blood-stained muzzle and fangs displaying the happy mien of a hunter who has just secured a very fine meal. I touched the cowering pig with a paw still covered in the blood of its herdmates, leaving a crimson smear down its flank, and my smile grew broader.

"This one... this one we let live." I nodded, carefully licking blood from my whiskers. "It knows that it lives at our whim, and the only reason it lives is because we didn't choose to slay it." I gestured at the creature, speaking half to Cru, half to it. "If we kill them all, then there will be no one to spread the word, to grow the terror in the next herd we find. Terror makes prey make mistakes. Mistakes from the prey fill our stomachs."

Taking the strategic view, as always.

I nodded in agreement- lowering my head to lick the Capybara's forehead, My nose left a stain on it, Remember me little piggy- I'm sure you will. I chuckled as I spread my wings and leapt down from the ridge and to the food that we had left below, the first one had traveled four steps from where I had murdered it and finally bled out. I stood above it and then looked back up at the beast above.

Let's feast, I'm starving.

Chirping in my own excitement of finally having a full belly.

It took me a moment longer than it had taken Cru, since I had prey to bring with me. I picked up the limp form of my first victim by the back of its neck, carefully carrying it to the edge of the ridge and dropping it the short distance to the ground below, then went back for my second kill. With the second of the pigs securely held in my fangs, I jumped from rock to rock down the ledge, making full use of my back claws to stabilize the leaps.

A moment later I was on the ground, and I carefully carried my kill over, adding it to the two Cru had in front of her. I went back and retrieved the first capybara and brought it along as well, laying it down and eying it carefully, deciding exactly where I wanted to start my meal. The shoulders? Hmmmm, or perhaps the flank... So many tasty options. I finally decided on the shoulder, and licked the hide with my raspy tongue, getting the taste of the meal. Just right too, still hot from the chase.

"Indeed! A feast we will have!" I smiled and took a bite, my fangs tearing a chunk of meat from the shoulder of my kill, savoring the blood and juices.

I watched him gather his prey and pile it next to mine. I let him have more fun, thus more piggies for him. I snickered and laid down on top of my kills- They were mine- I wasn't happy to share. It was only my nature to not share.

I waited for William to drag the rest down the ridge and start into one pig before tearing the pelt off the rump of mine. It was sweet- tender and It made me realize how hungry I really was. My jaws clamped shut on the bone of its leg- snapping it effortlessly, It was the sound of dinner time.

A soft purr emitted from my chest- finally I was content.
