He listened intently with the ears of a storyteller, trying to pick apart the differences between fact and fiction. It was hard, of course, and it made him curious to hear the other side of the story; curious enough that once the lion was finished he nudged his companion, leaning close enough to whisper to him. "... Usiku. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

The two leopards had seemed to listen intently and he wondered for a moment if they were really that interested. It seemed a bit odd but they could prove themselves useful perhaps. If they were so good at listening he could perhaps use them to spy on the members of the pride.
"Probably ...." There was a big story here that he knew no one in the pride had heard before. Arifu would love to hear it himself too. It would be bad of them to miss out on the opportunity to hear everything.

"If we came back with only half of the story... You know they'd just send us back out." He murmured before casting a sidelong glance at the lion. He watched him watching them for a moment, body crouched from whispering, before he straightened himself out. "Alright... We're in."

He raised a brow at the blue leopards words. He hadn't expected that the two would be interested in joining him. They didn't seem like the ... warrior type. "Just like that, hm?" He could use a few spies though even if these two would stand out a bit more than he'd intended.
"There's something here that interests us." He nodded. "Besides, you did say you could use what help you could get"

"What he said." He cocked his head towards his partner before moving to step up to the water hole, dipping his muzzle down to take a sip. Once his thirst was quenched he glanced up at the lion again. "We'll be in touch."

He watched the two for a moment longer before he got up so he could return to his mate. With telling the story he had rested long enough and she would worry if he was gone too long. "I would suggest being in touch quickly. I have need of your ... abilities." He smirked before turning to head back though the savanna
He watched the lion leave before joining Mpatis by the water. "There's a good story to be found here, two of them."

"There is." He nodded slowly, tail ticking behind him as he turned to his companion, grinning as if he'd just fallen face first into something deliciously tasty. "A good story that will be ours to tell."
