He made a face that sort of said 'oh' in an intrigued way, but at the same time was a bit surprised at himself for ever doing something of the sort. From what he knew of his past life there wasn't any hint of happier times. Though, as was established early on in their conversation, there was more to his old self than he was let on to believe. A part of his was grateful, while another part was irate about it. Why, he hadn't a clue, but for now he let the feelings be.
"Well there's an interesting fact.." he replied, half-smiling. "If you'd caught me when I were still a cub I probably would've scoffed and walked off, but now.. it really is a curious fact." With a widened smile he added, "So who won more often?"
The male didn't really wait too long for her to reply, as he proceeded to get up only seconds after asking. He'd caught sight of the horizon beyond the haven, seeing that nighttime was approaching. "Hold that thought," he said while still holding up the smile. "Save it for our next conversation, alright? I've gotta be somewhere, hope you don't mind." And with that he bowed out, in a very literal way, and proceeded to the edges of the haven. With another glance back at the goddess from his past, he spread his wings and took off, down to meet with a particular mortal who had somehow, perhaps by some miracle, managed to catch his interest.
