"Oh, don't send a horde of little cubs after me, you know I'm probably not any good with them at all," he said with a bit of a mocking frown at her, though it was quickly replaced with a smile. He'd never had any real time to spend with cubs - how was he to know if he was good with them or not? Still, the thought didn't sound appealing. Atla brought out the best in him because she was his grown, adoring sister - he wasn't sure he'd feel the same if she was a pesky little baby one.
"Yeah, a fairy tale," he echoed after her, brows knitting lightly as she hinted at envy. He'd never given any thought to what kind of mate he wanted, or what he wanted their life to be like. He supposed maybe he was too self-centered to care about others. He just shrugged it off, as most males would, not too concerned with fairy tales and love.
"Alright," he said excitedly, pushing himself to his paws with a grin. He nodded in the direction he had come from, his tail flicking behind him happily. "There's a herd lingering near the river." He started off in that direction, glancing back to her with a pleased look on his face. At least he'd get to spend some time with her before she left.

She still cast him that playful grin as if to say 'you never know, kids might just swarm all over you.' She stretched as he began to walk and she caught up quickly.
"If its any consolation, I'm gonna miss you too," she said to him as she joined him at his side. "And I'm gonna bag the biggest preybeast!"
