yells at the trumpets are main in my band too. except its during music.

aww sucks for you guys! actually in my and the trumpets get yelled at a lot too! Its no fair because i do practice and i am good!

Hmm... is there a normal day with my band?

No.

But that makes it all the more fun!

Generally:
Band starts 3rd period at 11:32
Get your instruments and warm up on your own.
Band director goes through Bb concert scale in whole notes.
Then all major scales in one eighth and six sixteenth notes.
Play warm up piece [Chorale: St. Antoni]
Play the 3/4 pieces we are working on.
Throw in perverted jokes now and then.
Yell at idiot percussionist who can't hit the gong... on beat 1. When the director cues him.
Usually we end up getting sets [normally 1 or 2] for general misbehavior in the percussion section.
Dismissed to lunch early. [1:10]

That's a typical day in the life of concert band. smile

This is why I love my trumpets. I am their section leader. They do well, mostly. My 4 sophomores love to goof off and misbehave, but know when to buckle down and work hard. Percussionists are usually yelled at in my band. They are idiots... and that's an understatement.

Marching band period - 7:40 AM: On the field with instrument in the warm up setup or run a lap; then warm up, do a marching warm up in a block; run the field show/parts of it until 8:40, then walk back to the room.

Then concert band period is basically the same thing except instead of running the field show we play music. (:

And Wednesday night rehearsals 6-9pm... always fun! Only three people or so threw up this year!! mrgreen

Lol our trumpets are REALLY good in terms of discipline; they only get yelled at for not covering and not playing loud enough... I mean come on 40 trumpets should produce a pretty big sound. stare
