A quiet sigh of relief, Corellon settled on his haunches outside the cave, watching over the lioness until she decided to fall asleep. The cave was small, but large enough for two lions to spend the night, sheltered by a large tree, far enough from the stream to be away from predators, and most importantly, it was uninhabited. They were safe here, now he just needed to keep Kimaji away from the mushrooms.
It was a lesson she would learn herself and soon enough, a lesson he did not intend to let her forget. By the time morning came around, the high of the mushrooms slept off, the crash would follow. And if she ever did forget, he was so going to turn her into a squirrel, she'd remember them.
But for now, he would simply stand watch, 'speaking' with the tree at the cave entrance, waiting until Kimaji had fallen asleep and the sky darkened before retreating to the cave himself to sleep for the night.
A small smile, well, he supposed it had been funny.
