Yeah, I didn't put that in the intro, but it was part of it. According to the back-story, he was kicked out mainly for being too smart. Other factors were that he wasn't quite as ugly as the other ogres, he was much kinder than the other ogres, and he was a bit more agile. There is a reason for it, but I won't share that in this thread, because it's a bit of a plot twist were it in an actual adventure.

hmmm~

well, I do despise spoilers and such. How long does his epic journey of finding himself last anyway?

I haven't decided that yet. Though if he were in a D&D campaign, Probably two months in, most of his back-story would be discovered in time. After that it would be more about development and such. If we were talking how long lifespan-wise; I'd have to say probably ten years or so. But nearly no D&D campaign I've ever heard about spanned years. Doesn't mean they don't exist. It just means I haven't heard of them.

Well, the style I've known of usually involves a party that meets up right from the start before their the big quest. In standard role play, the party usually spends some time (usually about a week, sometimes only a day) getting to know each other. I like to think of my character as someone the party meets and battles further down the storyline; before allowing him to join them. Then he becomes a valuable member, especially if they're ever in woodlands or mountains.

On a side note. . .
When I run an RP, I don't like having actual deaths. People work really hard on their character's and I wouldn't want them to have to lose a character. I take an interesting approach. When someone dies. They WILL recover, but it may be a week or two down the line, and they lose items as a penalty for death. Usually monies, or lesser items.

Occasionally they'll even lose a level or two if they did something particularly stupid (like attack the king they were supposed to be working for and getting killed, or jumping off a shear cliff without so much as a large piece of cloth.)

In essence their character died, was given a phoenix down (or some priest came by and revived them), it takes a week for them to revive, but they don't completely recover. Or if they do, the item wrecks (or even curses) something worn, or the priests decided on a fee, and acquired it at time of service.

Either way it encourages people to at least try to play it smart. And if a person continuously dies, the penalty gets stronger and stronger. And eventually they'll just end up staying dead. I usually lose patience on that matter after the fifth death.

yeah, you know, people or characters dying is never fun. i've only killed one character once, but that was just so I wouldnt get into trouble for not posting. xD i was extremely busy then. heheh.

Well, since no-one seems to be making guesses and such I'll finish explaining why an ogre using magic is only part of one of the issues. The other part is an Ogre Ninja. Ogres aren't supposed to be quick and stealthy. The first major issue with this character, is that he's an Oxymoron. According to the AMP project, that's a big no-no. But as you can see, I'm actually able to render a logical defense to each of the conflicts. The first being that it's natures magic, not his. And the second being that he has to concentrate to be any good at stealth.

But the other issue has little to do with an oxymoron of a character. The classroom still needs to figure that part out.

I once had a clan of warrior orcs who unlike most orcs weren't as brutal and barbaric as their ancestors. This clan had dedicated their lives not to extreme bloody violence but more hiring themselves out as mercenaries and assassins, they were quick, slender and nimble, and their complexion was a lot more becoming than War Orcs, and they could actually function in society, one even had a seat in a council.

Name: Rik
Race: Human Descendant
Age: 18 and 9 months
Sex: Male
Personality Traits: Rik is a laid back mercenary who doesn't really take life seriously. He lives one thrill at a time. He lives for the moment and is care free. You will find yourself hard pressed to make him angry, he's too laid back to deal with your s**t and he makes it known, often taunting an enemy with smart arse remarks and jests. He likes his girls, it is one of the great pleasures that come with being a merc. Of late though Rik has been shown to grow in maturity and is found helping people in need and actually hiring himself out to people in dire need of his skills.
Physical Traits: Rik has sun drenched blonde/brown hair due to years living in the desert. It always seems to stay in one style which sort of looks like he's just woke and hopped out of bed. His eyes are a golden brown, they really stand out in a crowd and when looking at him you get a sense of something mysterious about this young merc. His clothes style is somewhat ragged, his jacket is a complex yet simple design which incorporates lots of zips and thread cords. His armor plated shoulder pad is rusted beyond repair and is quite a burden sometimes. Riks has suffered some heavy blows in his line of work and has the scars to show it. He often wears a protective cape and goggles when traveling through the desert.
History: Riks history is shrouded in fog, he doesn't let much people know about his history at all, maybe because he has never been close enough to anyone to tell them. He grew up in a concentration camp of sorts where him an other children of around the same age were trained and broken into becoming child soldiers working for a warlord. Rik saw him as a father figure which was sad because the way they would be treated. At the age of 13 Rik and another friend Setsuna escaped and fled across the desert. Rik took shelter in a nearby farmhouse and was adopted by the owners. After months of living peacefully the farm was under attack by the very same monsters who had enslaved him. Rik slayed them all ad was banished by his adoptive family because they thought he was a demon. Years went by and Rik struggled on. At the age of 18 Rik was a hardened mercenary and looked like he lacked the emotional capacity it takes to involve oneself into the lives of people. He took no friends, had no family and Rik was fine with this. Thus the story of Rik's redemption begins..

[Mind that instead of me making a completely new character, that I take a character skeleton that I already made, and post it here? I'll post it's link to show that I made it. This is just for me to see.....how others opinions are on it, since this is an inactive guild now, so I just use it as a reference in things.]

Link: http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=13457181

There's the link....but out of those....I think I'll choose this to get reviewed.....

Name: Zero

Age: Very old, but looks 19

Sex: Male

Sexuality: [?]

Race: Human[?]

Personality: Vacant, cold blooded, and mysterious

Background: Zero, a man who was born with the title of God of Destruction, showed up in a burning waste land of a village. The village at the time was being attacked by fire demons of every shape and size. Some were bigger than the tallest building which was over six stories tall. He spent his years in that village, the humans had to pay the demons to live, or another house would be burned down at random. Zero's family paid and paid, and eventually couldn't pay anymore, and sent Zero away instantly. He was seven at the time, and watched his whole village burn to the ground. This caused him to lose more than just his family, it caused him to lose his mind. The title of God of Destruction was real, as in pure rage, he created a static engulfed sword from a piece of wood, defying all logical reason. All the demons died in the next five minutes, Zero with no scratch or scar. The next ten years he spent his time alone, killing random demons, and even humans who caused innocents harm. He then lost the will to protect, when the next village fell. He then killed with no reason, and was sent to the null void for killing over six hundred thousand people and demons. He never went to sleep in the null void. Never. His body never grew after he killed a certain demon. He ate it's heart to retain his 19 year old body permanently. As he was in the null void for over a good 300-400 years, it started cracking, his cage that is. Now he is out of the null void, as he broke threw it, and is wandering around where ever he wants.

Appearance: http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/8423/bish03uj0.jpg

Other: He doesn't carry a sword at all, but at the same time, he can make anything into a sword of any matter even elements. Everything else about his powers is unknown.

[I changed the image to a url, so it wouldn't take up much more space than needed. Oh! I made this almost a year ago, so...go easy on me. I do much better than I did back then. XP]

Well, he does have a pretty cool ability to use elements to build swords. But God characters rarely make good stories. His alignment seems to be chaotic-neutral, though he started as chaotic-good.

I have some questions. There really needs to be some way he can get defeated; what method would you choose for that? Is it a redemption plot? Or is just gonna get his final comeuppance at the hands of other adventurers? I really like his sword-form ability, but what's it's limit? Are there some things he just can't form a sword from? If not, are there at least some things he has to work much harder to craft swords from? Could he sell swords he makes, or are they soul-bound?

You have a pretty solid story, but you do need to find a way to limit his omnipotence.

[Yeah. After a few months....I realized that I should start adding weaknesses. I'm actually serious. Since I always kept them to myself, and would post them in this GIGANTIC first post if I had their weaknesses in mind. This character was actually suppose to be a side character, I rarely used him, but out of all of them, I would say that back when I made this, that this one had more of 'me' in it's personality. But thanks for the advice. At the moment, I have a current character that I made, I could post it up, and then some. It has weaknesses and also it's powers are his weakness. XD. In fact, I think out of curiosity...I'm gonna post it up.]

Behind the Curtain: Amahagane

Call me: Zero Kail.

This many Years: 17 years of age

In my Past: The past was gruesome for Zero, he had lost his parents to robbery, was placed in an orphanage, and then in the same year, at the age of five, was kidnapped with three other kids from that orphanage to go to a special facility called 'Project Amber'. This was at the early stages of the end of the first coming of the facility too. Zero had almost been tamed to where he would kill just to eat. The two he came with, he killed. When the government came to take the mad man away, plus the children who were still alive, he was one of them. The gruesome part about his past wasn't even those things though, it was the fact that after he left, he was adopted by a family who almost killed him ten times in his life because his kitsune blood woke. He almost burnt the house down, killed the dog by stealing it's soul from it's body and making a miniature twister inside the house. Because of this they beat him, threw him out, and almost sold him away so many times that he lost all emotion. When the second coming came, at the age of 14, he watched as his parents were killed, and then laughed as the blood sprayed all over him, after a few minutes of laughing, even while being beaten to half death by the people who captured him again, he didn't mind where he was going. The first words he said in the second coming of the facility were "Give me blood" and "I need more blood." Nothing else for at least a month. By this time he became too used to working for Project Amber, and found himself enjoying killing his own kind. Then in the early part of his 17th year, he found himself having to be strapped to a wall whenever he wasn't suppose to kill anything, every handler he had was killed when he had blood sprayed on him, and always in the most terrible of ways at that. The current handler has been with him for two months, because the handler talks with Zero, unlike the ones who never did before, this way, Zero has formed a good relationship with his handler, even if the handler has to back away when Zero is fighting. Now Zero spends his time chained up, until given a mission, which he is desperately waiting for.

Just the way I am: Blood-thirsty, sadistic madman who wants nothing more than to kill. When in the streets he likes to hang around, play, and have fun, which is the total opposite of his job personality.
Loves: Chocolate, cherries, Dr. Pepper, red flowers, his job, and himself.
Hates: Parents, diet sodas, strawberries, being wounded, and talking with idiots. His powers.

In the Mirror: http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1448/53251298.jpg

Look what I can do!: He only has two powers. [Transformation], this ability can be used only to make weapons. For instance, he can make a stick turn into a metal sword, or a plastic bag into a shield. His other power is even stronger, and could be considered a very dangerous power. He can use the element of Wind. Wind can be used to do almost anything, from depriving someone of oxygen, to making a forest fire start with only a match. [Wind] if used correctly can even manipulate water, as such, a hurricane, or ice, chilly breezes that can freeze people. It can even cut people up by just being plain fast.

I'm packin' heat: He is literally packing heat, he carries a box of matches and a lighter with him.

Bring me to my knees: His weakness is a self induced one. He hates using his power of [Transformation], so when he uses it, it takes a long time to use. Plus if interrupted, he can blank out for a few minutes. He also has another weakness, which is just that, he can't fight for more than a few minutes without losing his mind and such passes out after 15 minutes of fighting. His wind also can backfire if he loses his train of thought, causing him to hurt himself.

My side of the tracks: Tamed(Feral)

Other: His real name isn't Zero, that's just what people call him due to that fact that he has a 0% chance of failing a mission, without losing his mind in the process, thus killing the target most likely. Another thing would be that he doesn't fit the picture of a blood-crazy psychopath, and that he is allowed to leave his cell if he does good on a mission, even if he kills his target, which he tries to do a lot because he likes to eat and look at things that interest him.
His mind split in to half when the first coming of Project Amber ended, and it came back when he went back. One is a Psychopath, while the other is a neglected child who wants to play and hang out with people.

[Again, I changed the picture to give more room. This is my current one of two that I'm using in a role play in Barton Town. I had to follow a specific skeleton, so...I gave it a shot, and here's the outcome. How is this one?]
