Strange rubbed his temples briefly, then turned away from his work on the mysterious 'X' long enough to check the power signature at the door. Once satisfied that everything was in order, he lowered his wards and sent a slight slip of power to open the door. "I am in my study," he called.

Danny walked into the building and after a long walk, into the study. He found the Sorcerer Supreme in his chair, just as he had suspected. "Doctor Strange, it's been a long time. I'm sure that by now you're completely aware of the situation with the Universe. The brand of the Order of the Midnight Sons burns over this occurance. I do not know if you accepted the brand or not, since it was a piece of your soul, not you yourself, that aided us last time, but either way, even if no one else comes... no, ESPECIALLY if no one else comes... I'm going to need your help. And you may very well end up needing mine, or at least the Ghost Rider's. It takes a very powerful magic indeed to bring Doctor Strange into a predicament like this, after all. So, please, guide me. Guide the Ghost Rider. Tell me where I am needed most, until the time comes to end this catastrophe once and for all." As he finished, the pain of the brand receeded further, but refused to go away. It seemed that there was still more work to be done here on top of the Universal event.

Dr. Strange nodded. "You're not wrong about our respective situations," he admitted tiredly, "And I am of course happy to assist you in any way I can. Currently," he added, "I believe that you can do the most good at the Daily Bugle; Spider-man has already fallen, and I'm afraid that Tony Stark will soon follow suit."

"I understand," Danny said. "Is there anything else I should know about, involving magic, or any creatures of a supernatural nature, that I need to know? Any heroes or innocents in need of our kind of aid?"

(( please be careful with how you call yourself 'Strange'. That was what the Midnight Sons called that piece of Doctor Strange's soul that helped them while Doctor Strange himself was missing ))

((Um... But it is his last name... And that's what most people call him when they don't want to write the whole thing out.))
"The last time I checked, some minutes ago, there were two symbiotes and some kind of beast who excreted a fear-inducing toxin." He paused. "That was what got Spider-man. The last I saw, he appeared to have gone completely mad."

Danny nodded. "One more question, then I'll be on my way to help them. Has there been any activity from Hell at all? Satan? Mephisto? Blackheart?"
(( True. Ah, forget I said it. ))

Strange shook his head, opened his mouth to speak, and then suddenly looked... distracted. Quickly, he murmured a few words of command, simultaneously making quick, precise movements with his hands. After a moment, he continued, but it seemed as though half of his attention remained somewhere else. "Apologies; something I'm working on. No, as of yet there has been no activity whatsoever."

(( xp YOU SPEAK LIES!!! LOL, I read what happened with Black Cat, but that's okay. ))
Danny nodded, saying "I understand. I trust you'll keep me informed. I'll be on my way, then." He outstreched his hand, offering a handshake. "It'll be good to actually work with the REAL Doctor Strange, instead of merely part of his soul."

((Yeah. He's just preoccupied with X. ))
Strange hesitated for a fraction of a second, apparently still distracted, and then took it. "I should hope so. Oh," he exclaimed, bringing a hand up to cover his eyes briefly, "I almost forgot; there was some demonic activity earlier. A Miss Felica Hardy, otherwise known as the Black Cat, was his target. Azazel, I believe. In any case, Miss Hardy is also at the Bugle."

Danny's eyebrow shot up. "I've heard of her. Does this take priority over the Universal crisis, or not?"

"Of course not," Strange said vaguely, shaking his head. "But if you can spare a moment to help her, please do so."

"It's only Azazel. It's not like it's Mephisto, so yes, I can easily spare some time to help her. Mephisto or Satan would pose a significantly larger threat, and would threaten to take all my attention from the Universal crisis." With that, he took one step backwards from the Doctor's desk and bowed slightly to the Sorcerer Supreme, saying, "I'm sure I'll be hearing from you." Then he turned around and walked out of the building, mounted his bike, and drove off towards the Daily Bugle.

Dr. Strange sent a quick message to Black Cat, then closed his eyes. A second later, the still-twitching Reaper from the JLA Satellite appeared on the large, overstuffed couch across from him. Strange regarded him for a second, making sure that everything was in order, then went back to his books.

Reaper's fingers were gripped tightly on the cushions of the couch and his breathing irregular, though more from the stress his body was in rather than pain. Strangely enough, he couldn't feel any pain, but knew that should be. He couldn't get his body to relax or move. After a few moment's he'd managed to calm himself down enough that his heart and breathing was at a normal pace, though he still couldn't seem to move. Finally it registered that he was no longer in the small cell, or anything remotely close to it. He glanced around a moment and finally spotted the wizard from earlier. He grimmaced a bit and attempted to get up, still unable to. He muttered something to himself and stared at the ceiling.
