Vox's face broke into a wide smile, one that actually almost seemed to split his toddler face in half, as he pushed down the head of the other child. It was so easy, so easy, and he could ignore the children around him that watched on in wonder. They probably thought they were playing, having no idea what the Kelpie really had in mind, and while a few still stared most went on with their play.
Until a thin line of drool started to leak its way from Vox's mouth. It looked a little like he was foaming or at least having some issues of some kind, but it quickly stopped as soon as the toddler noticed the red beneath his fingers. It wasn't blood (sadly), it was something he didn't know, and that horrible feeling in his stomach increased with the flickering of what little illumination he could see.
"!!!"
The Kelpie quickly drew his hand back and used it to cover his mouth, his stomach boiling inside like it wanted to come out. The boy knew he couldn't throw up, horses by nature can't throw up, but it felt like he'd been poisoned somehow. It wasn't as bad as the time with the liver, but it certainly felt like it.

Darsh exploded upwards with a gasp the second Vox's hand let him go. Tears might have been streaking his cheeks, but it was impossible to tell since he was all wet. His eyes glittered with betrayal and fury and hurt and he stared at the boy, breathing heavily, not noticing or caring that Vox appreared to have been poisoned. "Whatcha do that for?!" He demanded once he'd stopped coughing enough to talk.

" . . . "
Vox didn't answer, his hand still clamped over his mouth, but his eyes glared at the other boy like he wanted to kill him twice over now for some slight. It was almost as if he was thinking 'how dare you injure me' when all alone the Kelpie was the one who'd been trying to do the damage. He remained in this way for another moment or two before Vox noticed the feeling in his stomach was going away and that he didn't ache anymore. His hand, granted, but he didn't feel sick.
And that, of course, meant he would still try to go through his with plan. He would just have to be a bit more...tactful.
" . . . . I was trying to get you to dunk your head all the way under. You can't just get used to the water but dipping it how you were so I wanted to help."

Crossing his arms the best he could given the water wings and narrowed his eyes at Vox. The jewel on his forehead still pulsed, though the light was now more muted. "You're lying." Darsh said decisively. He was manipulative enough himself to be able to recognize it in others. His eyes never left Vox, watching him warily to make sure he didn't get too close again.

"No I'm not."
In a way Vox wasn't lying, since...well, to drown someone you had to help them keep their head underwater. Until they died.
"If you don't believe me that's fine, but it's what I was doing. You're the one who wanted to learn from me after all, so I thought you'd take any help I gave. I guess that makes you the liar."
It was the Kelpie toddler's turn to cross his arms now, his black eyes narrowed as he watched the red jewel on the other's forehead.

"I'm NOT a liar!" Darsh said hotly. It was true - the little boy was incapable of a flat-out lie. But he was more offended at the mere suggestion. Lies were bad. He knew that. And Darsh, who generally thought himself above reproach, didn't like to feel insulted in any way. Especially by a person who had also tried to hurt him. With a small, feral growl in the back of his throat he lunged at Vox with outstretched arms, intending to go for the other boy's neck. The water wings, however, made this more difficult than he'd planned.

So it was a grab for the throat? Vox could see that coming, but naturally he didn't expect the boy to make any contact. This blue child was awkward outside of the water, in it too probably, and those stupid wings made it all impossible. So, instead of having his throat grabbed, the little Kelpie took the weight of a tossed body.
"!!!"
Vox stumbled and somehow managed to get himself pushed down into the water, allowing himself to be held down as much as the other boy's arms could do with their wings, and after a few moments of looking like he was struggling (he had to act, it was fun), he left his mouth close and formed his lips into a wide smile.
Drowning wouldn't work on, stupid blue child. He did enjoy the attempt though, because it meant that his prey wasn't as stupid as he looked, and while Vox was being held down he could only stare up.

Somehow managing to hold the other boy under the water, Darsh stared angrily at him. Admittedly, he was far too small to do any real damage. Had Vox wanted to surface it would have been easy enough to do so. Then again, Darsh didn't bother to think about this. He only knew he was angry. Glaring down at the kelpie, though, he found Max's words floating through his head. 'only cowards use violence.' And at once, the fight seemed to leak out of him.
Letting go of Vox, he shook his head in disgust. Though who or what he was disgusted with really wasnt clear. (Although since Darsh could do no wrong as far as he was concerned, it was a safe bet the emotion was aimed at Vox) Turning, he waded over to the edge of the pool and started up the ladder with every intention of making Emma take him home. He didn't even bother to glance back at the kelpie.
