Natalie did as the geezer said, carefully cheating. She took four instead of three, and hid one in her sleeve, hoping that Aiden wouldn't notice. She wasn't sure if it would have an effect on the trick or not, but proving that she was just as good with slight of hand as he was was a good enough prize for Natalie.

Aiden had noticed the slip of Natalie's hand, and smiled. Ah, she was witty. And a brat. "Right. Now, you little cheat, put the card back and flip the top card of every deck." Aiden knew what the cards would be. They would all be queens, even excluding Natalie's little tamper. But that wouldn't be the extent of the trick. His trick was much better than that.

Natalie smiled and replaced the card. She flipped the top card, seeing that they were all queens. "Is that it? All queens?" She asked, unimpressed.

Once Natalie had flipped all the top cards, Aiden grabbed a match and lit it, striking it on the counter, and drug it over all four decks. The decks all burst into flame violently, and soon the decks had burnt away. However, where the decks had been, were all the aces, perfectly intact, no burns, nothing. Aiden grabbed the ace of spades, showing it was a real card. "There. Does this satisfy you?"

Greta yawned widely as the bell rang. She wondered briefly where her dear sister had gone, but decided not to worry. Knowing Natalie, Wherever it was, it wasn't school. Greta looked around at the students before deciding that one less wouldn't make a difference. She quietly slipped out the gates that lead to the high school.
Students were milling outside the school, it wasn't unusual. You were allowed to go out for lunch. Greta started to walk to the store that Natalie was at. As she entered the bell rang lightly. She noticed that Natalie was there with the old man, Aiden. "Hi, guys," Greta said quietly.

"Hey, sis. You wanna go somewhere?" Natalie asked, realizing that people were starting to file into the store. Though it was decently big, Natalie didn't really like to hang out with anyone other than her closest friends and Greta. She thought of the forest just outside of town. It wasn't more than a fourth of a mile away. It was nice to play in and it was also a good place to just hang. The other students didn't go anywhere near it because they said it was haunted and you could disappear and never come back if you went in. Natalie didn't believe it, and thought that Greta didn't either.

"Kay," Natalie took her bag and slung it across one shoulder. As she passed Greta, she thought, 'Hey, you know those stories of the students disappearing in there?' She smiled ominously at her sister. "Lets go"

Aiden quickly cleaned his counter and started tending to his customers. As the girls left he called after them. "Oi! You be careful, you hear?! I don't want no one to blame me if you break your pretty little heads!" Aiden turned away, sighing. It seemed today was the day. He spoke quietly under his breath, so quiet that no one could hear his voice but him. He clutched the nearby counter for support. "I'm so sorry, Nat." Soon afterward, a customer appeared with a question, and Aiden got to helping him. There was nothing that could take his mind off that better than working.

Tomha was outside reading his book. His homework was to study on the human body, what makes it work, what can kill it, and why certain organs are needed. Tomha sighed since this would be obnoxiously annoying. "What does this have to do with bringing people back to life?" he thought to himself as he sighed. He didn't want to read about human health, he wanted to make skeletons dance and scare people, or at least curse people.

Totally, but I'm up for it I mean. As long as your there I know I won't get hurt...right, Sis? Greta looked up at her sister questioningly. She already knew the answer though.

'I'm surprised you have to ask,' Natalie said, smiling again. They were headed towards the edges of town, and the forest was almost in sight. Natalie knew that the outside would look dark and scary but that the inside was beautiful and shiny and green. It was always moist, but if you climbed in the trees then you could see for miles, all the way out to the nearby lake and rivers. Natalie used to sit up in the redwood trees for hours, just looking at the birds and the water. She had thought of it as one of the prettiest things she'd seen.
((idk if that guy is on. The one that wants to meet us at the forest, but I'll PM him now, since we're almost there...))

Dane was already in wait for them on the edge of the forest. He was hiding in a tree with a hawk resting on his shoulder. He had learned of their coming from one of his surveillance hawks that he sends throughout the city from time to time.

Old Alexander sat inside his clockwork shop reading the morning paper. He looked down from the paper and looked off into the forest for a moment then returned to his paper. Today was very slow, slower then usual. He got up and set the paper down onto the counter. He took out his pocketwatch he had owned since he was a boy. His father had given it to him as a gift. He ran his old wrinkled finger over the smooth brass covering and opened it. The clock inside still worked, Alexander had always made sure it worked. He closed it and flipped it over, on the back showed his family crest with words written in latin around it. "The mind is the mightest weapon in any time" He muttered to himself reading the words out in english. he returned the old watch to his from vest pocket and sat down to work on an clock that had a habit of making it daylight saving time everyday. Probally just the reset mechanisim He thought as he pulled out his array of small clock tools and got to work. His hands moved like he was 19 again as he worked.
